I dont know what the wind speed in the marina was at the time. The 25 to 30 knots was on the Chesapeake Bay shortly before this video. Despite what the flags may look like, the wind was significantly more than 10 knots. The stiff canvas on my bimini edges do not blow around at 10 knots.
I do have a pretty beefy rub rail.. but not at dock level. In this video, i was closer to the dock than I planned, but not as close as it looked. I didn't touch the dock and fenders were down as well. I have heard of waterman turn. But don't really known what it is. I will research it. I still have a lot to learn! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Lots of great info in this video. The technique I typically use starts around 1:08:54: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PoGMAEjiHmU.html
@sailingcanvasback I have watched these videos and they do have a lot of good information. Although my wife was with me in this video and there happened to be help on the dock, the great majority of the time I am solo. So my procedures have to work when I am solo. That is why I wanted the momentum to give me a little more time to use my dock stick to retrieve my sping line. Thanks for sharing good information!
