He thinks he can claim defamation, for being quoted. "I only put minor in the tweet so they would report it as a minor then sue them for defamation." 💀 This is what he claimed was his 4D gambit. 😂😂 Did The Quartering teach him that one?
Lmao responding with "I wasnt *technically* sexting and even if I was they were (barely) over the age of consent" is not the defense that he thinks it is
And then "I wasn't _actually_ going to meet up woth them." Well, if they were of legal age, then why do you feel the need to deny that you'd meet up with them, sir?
In another universe, Dr Respect is taking full accountability and abdicating his title, retiring and never logging on again. Living each day to better himself, always striving for redemption but never demanding it.
@@ridjenite In the alternate timeline Dr. Respect only approaches adult women (and men), he is courteous and respectful, and uses his genuine personality & charm to make himself attractive to others without his opening line being some sort of brag about how he's rich and famous.
@@youtubeenjoyer1743 Justice isn't just the purview of the law. Taking justice into one's own hands by not working with someone inappropriate towards children, is completely valid.
@@rev0lve638 That's up there with "do you know how difficult it is to find a minor who isn't a little wise about dealing with pedos in this day and age?"
this "legal definition of sexting" defense reminds me of that creepy scene in a Transformers movie where the dad says "she's 17!" and the boyfriend rattles off the Romeo and Juliet law like it's the pledge of allegiance
Dr Disrespect and Critical Drinker both started out as silly caricatures but grew into the persona to the point where it's just self-righteous takes in a funny voice but without irony.
@@moonielivee4836 Critical Drinker would like us to believe he embodies an archetype of a straight-shooting no bs drunk Scotsman but really he's the preachy kind who complains to strangers. Which, I believe Scots will agree, is the worst kind of drinker.
Really doesn't help his case when he's basically addressing his bs "in character". It doesn't seem like he can be bothered to change how he speaks or dresses to seriously address a serious allegation.
@@anothercub6958That's because he's a coward. He needs to hide behind this character because it gives him cover to be a completely dismissive jack-a-nape. It's what Tucker Carlson's lawyers did when he was being sued for misinformation and lies and defamation - they said "Any mature viewer who watches Mr. Carlson's show knows that he is playing a character and that he does not purport to report on news." Guy Beam is doing the same thing. And this "defamation" thing is ridiculous. He defamed himself by admitting to texting kids.
@@blackpajamas6600 Poe's Law... where parody/satire and reality blends so hard, you become annoyingly confused upon the action's purpose. There comes a time when the "mask" NEEDS to be off to inform the audience/public on important matters. It destroys both the actor AND the character into irrelevance or disdain, like some to most method actors.
He straight-up insinuated that he knew the kid was under 18, checked to see what the age of consent was where the kid lived, and then continued to "inappropriately message" [his words) this under-18. Quick question, if nothing he said/planned to say was sexual, why did he check to see if the kid was under-18 legal in their state?
I heard of him back during that whole controversy with taking pics in the public bathroom. First time I had heard of him. I then promptly forgot about his existence until the groomer news. But he's totally important! After all, he says so, so it must be true.
Let's see, I first saw him on some random meme vid and moved along. Then again on Mixer or something, I could be wrong. Then a review about bad crypto games: DEADROP And now... THIS. I guess that's his legacy in my eyes... And didn't he make official CoD maps... and were the worst maps in the franchise?
He claimed it wasnt "technically illegal" like wtf. Then he just gets mad that it was leaked and acting like he Twitch was supposed to have his back or something when they literally knew what he was doing. It was their own actual legal liability to intervene.
Y’know, I was wondering when he’d try to slither back on here like nothing had happened. Even more hilarious is that the anti-woke goofballs are trying so hard to kiss up to him presumably to get him on board with their typical shenanigans.
He tried to groom and diddle, which is how online conservatives realized he was one of them. There's a reason why so many of them worship the Bronze Age, and the reason they mention Muhammad and Aisha is because they're jealous. There's a reason why organized religion and conservatism go hand in hand with child abuse....
Dude bounced between "I didn't do it/they're lying/it was all a trap to see who I can trust" and "the age of consent is X where they live/I'm sure other people do it too/the messages weren't of a sexual nature" so often it felt like I was watching a game of ping-pong. A whole stream full of cope.
Of course he isn’t gonna, this whole situation is highly suspect like I been digging and it truly seems that the “court case” he and twitch had was never real, as in legally we still don’t know how f’d up this is
Guy was 100% coached though this statement and lying via omission. The report was made from the minor after a single prompt, Guy's using the fact they "Didn't do it sooner" as an excuse they didn't previously press charges. which isn't how a report works. It doesn't work via "only hindsight" The decision wasn't on "Did not constitute sexting" it was that it didn't involve pictures. It was considered sexual, court verdict. He was sexting, and he's super defensive with his words were "the texts were not illegal". Which can be true, but he still sexted and attempted to meet with a minor. Guy's legal defense was "It was a joke" and "She's actually legal" and "it's not illegal to text someone in sexual ways". The texts and "Legal defintion" was defended by a defense of the word "And" involving images. The texts that the jury looked over had a full court agreement that they were sexual. The lawyer used the anonymity of the minor to claim she was 'of legal age in their own county" which was not backed up in court. Guy admitted here that he attempted arbitration, this was denied 6 times before it was granted and the court went into favour for Guy, which is were it was settled via twitch. Guy is just an abuser, Pure trash, Wife hates him, kids hate him. The only support he gets is from his very young audience, He can't make friends cuz he's such an asshole, hides that away with the "Gamer rage" stunt. Genuinely pathetic.
He said is was a minor, but in the video he's trying to claim he only did, just so he could then say its defamation? Does he really not know how defamation works? Quoting you, isn't defamation because you then retract it and say "gotcha." Wtf?
Whats so fun about this is he’s not even correct about his definitions! “Minor” is not actually directly correlated with the age of consent. The term Minor is strictly defined by a given state’s Age of Majority, or when a person is LEGALLY considered a full-grown adult. The youngest of which in the states is 18, the oldest of which is 21. So REGARDLESS of the age of consent in the state this takes place in, so long as the individual was under 18 then he was, in any state in the USA, sexting(colloquially) a legal minor.
That's assuming that he was sexting, and the arbiter who was a judge, and mandatory reporter, local law enforcement also looked at the messages and in the arbitration it came out in Discovery that Twitch admitted internally that NOTHING sexual in nature had occurred. Now, there is one word that keeps popping up that I will 100% agree with- and that is the word inappropriate. However, if we're going to be throwing around legal definitions, I would be remise as an attorney to not point out that on multiple levels of both our court system, our law enforcement systems, and even Twitch as a company itself internally all recognize what communications that were made between the alleged victim was not sexting, or sexual in nature. Sharing sexually explicit messages, photos, or any other medium to/with a minor meets the standard of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which is usually going to be a class 1 misdemeanor, with the potential of being enhanced to a felony rather easily. The fact that this was recognized as not illegal, and because this happened over an online platform (Which throws out the age of consent laws of any one state and applies the national standard of 18 as being the age of majority) it can be reasonably assumed that these messages didn't contain anything sexual in them. Given we all recognize that a 35 year old married man communicating with anyone that young even if they were in the age of majority as inappropriate- it can also be reasonably assumed that him admitting that it was inappropriate simply means he's applying a bare minimum standard to the communications as well; that standard being very few instances in which a man of his age, status, and following engaging with someone far younger would be inappropriate regardless of the context or substance of the messages themselves.
@@ElfpireEva Counterpoint: if the messages did not contain anything sexual in nature whatsoever, why would his video begin with reference to “age of consent”
@@ZeketheZealot Cause he's a dumbass trying to parrot his lawyers and failing cause he's not a lawyer. What makes more sense' Dr. Disrespect trying to sound smart and failng, Or Twitch, an arbiter, local law enforcement, and a federal agency all finding nothing sexual as well?
He can cope and cope about the technical legalities and settlements but the most damning fact is that twitches trust and safety team saw these "whispers" and decided that the biggest streamer on the platform was more of a liability than asset
"I have no way of knowing if the (minor) thought our exchange was inappropriate" is SO FUCKIN WILD. It just clearly shows that he doesn't think texting a minor inappropriate things is bad unless its illegal or the minor doesn't like it. Insane.
Why is it the second he opened his mouth i got creeper vibes? Like, i haven't seen someone make that weird face since that Onion fellow when he was relevant.
How would my DMs look, were they released publicly? Pretty boring tbh. Only people I message are my wife and brother. I am 100% certain that there would be nothing worth noting on there. Why does he assume everyone else can relate?
The fact he thinks people can relate is a bigger red flag than him getting kicked off twitch, frankly. What is he doing that he thinks "okay sure even if someone does this less often and less severely than me, it would still be bad enough for people to be outraged if they found out"? I get the impression he's so far out there people with a normal range of experiences can't even fathom the shit he's doing, just like he can't fathom what we do.
His fans defending this are bonkers... as if the fact that the minor happened to be in a state where this would be legal because of age of consent would make it suddenly okay for a 40 year old to be sending inappropriate messages (which they were, by his admission, even if they weren't "sexting") to a fucking 17 year old.
Histrionic bigoted right wing troll full of closeted sexual hangups on the verge of a very public emotional breakdown? Nah, you're not alone in your thinking.
@@solomonverrico Indeed. Personally, I don't care he tried to hook up with a 17 year old. Everyone's consenting, and there is no maturity difference between 17 and 18. To me, if one REALLY cared, they'd make the age of consent HIGHER, mid 20s at least. But he admitted to doing it, most consider it an issue, and suddenly he's calling conspiracy? Something tells me he's done MORE than just this.
@tyrongkojy Would it be okay if he tried to hook up with a 16 year old? 15? 14? If the line isn't the age of consent, then where is it? Like, if we agree that the age of consent is _already_ probably lower than it should be, then someone who violates it is that much worse, no?
@@InsomniacXIII Meh. Again, don't personally care. It's 16 where I am. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the whole thing. Should be mid 20s, minimum, if "maturity" and ability to make decisions is what it's all about. Again, there is no real difference between 16, 17, or 18 when it comes to any of that. We were all idiots, equally, at those ages. Or you will be. Whatever's applicable. Looking back, the idea that the age of maturity is 18 should be fucking laughable.
Ya this checks out usually when a crippling narcissist has their perception shattered by the public seeing them as a loser or creep they have meltdowns he staying in character to protect his ego and false self worth that is why narcissists always fall because of them selfs
What doc doesnt seem to get is that if that person he was being inappropriate with travelled across state lines then he would be in HUGE trouble. Because then it becomes a human trafficking situation. His defense of "she was legel were she was" doesnt mean shit federally.
Guys, guys! It wasn't Dr. Disrespect a minor who texted the person, but it was Guy Beam that laser focused on one. Why in full uniform he can deny and be fine with this double down. Though, calling your audience champs is a tad sus...? Like he's the creepy dad who can be cold to his son but beams on his daughter weirdly and her friends especially when they have a sleep over.
"I don't believe that man has ever been to medical school" - Buzz Light-year. also I love how 2024 is the year of "I was only pretending to be a predator" defenses.
I think it's funny and sad how he thinks that just because it (allegedly) "wasn't technically illegal" that somehow makes it an appropriate thing to do.
Ohhhhh, I don't know. Money has compelled many a spouse to stay with his/her deadbeat partner. That's probably the only reason she stuck around after he cheated on her, what, twice? I don't get the sense she's in this marriage because Guy is her knight in shining armor. I think he's her ticket to the high life (provided all this BS doesn't further implode his career).
"Everyone stays in their own lane" Bruh dude couldn't stay in his own lane with his wife. Heck he wasn't even satisfied with that and decided to try the 'under construction' route before being diverted by twitch roadworks lmao
Okay so I slept with a younger guy but by that, I mean twenty-four and he lives with his boyfriend and has for almost three years and is openly polly. Like... you can't see how that is different? Do you not know obvious power imbalances?
Dr. Pissinsect is in his 40s and doesnt seem to realize that examples arent examples if he doesnt name names. You know of a streamer that says the n-word? I know of a guy who sells magic beans. Dont worry about his name that's not important right now
I find it funny the "Realest MF'er online", pulls a DSP with 0 proof, and has nothing to fall back on but, "For real bro. Trust me. Like I'm super honest as long as you don't ask for receipts or witnesses at all."
Never even heard of this guy before. As a veritable nube to this character may I say to that Twich employee he's going after - good job man. Good job. The guy is a serious creep.
Imagine admitting that you're a groomer... and then pretending it's some Twitch employee's fault... 🤨 wild that he is going to get away with this 😔 money really does buy you anything 🤢🤮
I'm guessing it was flirting with spicy language AT THE LEAST since he's trying to weasle around with words and legality of what was said in which case he can gtfo. The only thing I could see as a defense was not knowing the age of the minor at the time but then WHY DIDN'T HE ASK? Also referring to himself as the "Two time champ" when he was caught cheating on his wife is.. I'm really not sure the right word to describe how nasty that is.
He says the guy's full name over and over again to try to get his audience to do something to him, besides of course, all of the manipulative vague language to try to save face. It's one of the most obvious versions of these tactics.
I don’t know if its exactly the same in the US as it is in my country of Canada but the age of consent only means jack within certain conditions. In Canada, the age of consent is 16 which means a 16 year old can consent to engage in sexual behaviour but only if there exists no relationship of trust, authority or dependency. The age of consent also doesn’t mean jackshit if the relationship is exploitative. In canada that would mean they would look at the young person’s age, the age difference between them, how the relationship developed ( for example: was it done secretly over the internet 😬) and whether the partner may have influenced the teen.
Wait wait wait. Did he just claim that his decision to include the word "minor" in his original admission then take the word out and then put the word back in when people accused him of whitewashing the messages was a deliberate attempt to.... TROLL HIS CRITICS?! How does he not see that this is just as gross as talking suggestively to a minor in the first place. I hate his smug face. I used to see his Dr. Disrespect persona as entirely rooted in entertainment, but he's trying to use it right now as a shield - he's too cool and too smart and has too many fans for the haters to take him down, and he'll ruin them all instead! I don't care if he's playing a character or not - my desire to bop him is strong regardless.
You missed the best part! Everyone: Can we see the messages if you done nothing wrong? DD: Are we in 2nd grade? Yes, because wanting to see the evidence is such childish expectations and not what logical people would want.
I swear the best part of this was "he's complaining because Dr. Disrespect wasn't respected" and it's the most normal take on anything this entire year.
All of his fans are welcoming him back with open arms so it’s not like anything will change. I’m getting so tired of disgusting people getting away with everything
I feel like whether or not the messages constitute "sexting" or are illegal, or even if you're the "Two Time", there shouldn't BE ANY PRIVATE MESSAGES BETWEEN YOU AND A FUCKING MINOR.
Did this guy take his style and mannerisms from Jim Carey's Robotnik, from the Sonic movie, or did Carey take his performance inspiration from this guy?
In what world would Twitch need to perform a legal analysis to cancel his partnership? They have their own internal guidelines, the law doesn't have to come into it. Clearly they found that he was using their services to inappropriately message a minor (someone under the age of majority, not under the age of consent). They were fully within their rights to cancel their partnership and I think they were completely correct to do so. If he has to pull in the technical, legal definition of sexting to defend himself and appeal to the fact that he never met up with the minor (because, as I understand it, Twitch caught it first) then he really seems to be riding the line of what is actually legal, nevermind inappropriate.
jake, can you talk about the star wars explained getting dislike bombed because molly (star wars explained) made a post asking youtube to demonatize nerdrotic and star wars theory (and others i think)? i dont know if it posting that was a good idea because they seem to be talking lawsuit, but those channels are right wing garbage
Is this really one of the people cod kids watch and idolize ? Im so happy to have left that player base after feeling the touch of a woman. Everyone who makes content around that game is so cringe and larpy.
There are reasons why a legal case wasnt brought. Its possible the victim didnt want to bother. The state cant make a good case without a victims statement or testimony. It adoesnt justify the his fans dismissal. We dont have any context. He didnt release any message.
My favorite part about this is his whole "I made sure that I said stuff that people then reported about! Gotcha!" Okay, douchebag, so 1) you are now self-admittedly and evidently a liar, so why should we trust you now as opposed to then and 2) what is someone acting in good faith supposed to do, say "Actually, despite his own admission and apology, we actually don't have a good reason to think he did what he said he did?" Dr. D., if you want to play it that way, then no one should report on what you or any other streamer says, ever. You've said it's not newsworthy.
So many shitty people that get caught doing this shit hide behind 'nothing illegal happened'. As if 'not illegal' somehow means it isnt morally reprehensible behavior.
Is he trying to do a fkin... Nickacado Avocado "I planned this the whole time" bs?? It's so hard to take him seriously too. He looks so sleezey and on purpose no less? Like look at him! He CHOSE to look like that. He could have taken all that shit off and been a real person if he wanted people to think he deserved to be listened to but nope.
Why is it that folks that claim to be playing characters that are edgy awful people usually end up actually holding all those beliefs. Like it’s almost like the persona is just an excuse to be a shithead, surely not though. Who lies on the internet for attention and money?
It’s so gross that he defaults to the “anti woke” grift as soon as he gets in trouble. Typical. Those people are also usually the same ones crying about age of consent and shit. I wonder how his “anti woke” fans would react if they found out one of the people he cheated on his wife with was a trans sex worker. I’m sure it would take away his last little bit of support
