Each school has it requirements so do check the various schools website for that information. However, it's a very competitive course and hence the best of grades are required.

I'm wondering why you probably would want to do that? You would probably not want to do that because doctor of pharmacy provides with several opportunities, however if you want to, you can either go to graduate medical school for about 3years or else you have to start from undergraduate medical school (for 6years). You could as well use this period to specialize in pharmacy

@@ehoneahobed Yes. I didn't get the grade for medicine but still want to be a medical doctor. That's why I asked. Thanks. I also heard of GEMP which is 4 years.

@@jamjam3448 GEMP, it depends on the school in Ghana. Leg is 4 years UCC is 5 years For UDS, you’d have to do the 6 years again. However, it’s a bit cheaper in UDS compared to Leg and UCC

Not necessarily. They pick the best of students that apply. Hence it depends on the kind of results students are using to apply. If none of them have aggregate 06 then it doesn't mean no one will be admitted but on the other hand if they get more than necessary people with aggregate 06 then they are likely to pick those people over others.

In Ghana, you will have to do what we call a Housemanship (that will be your national service)

It varies across board

You would have to come and register with the Pharmacy council so that you are given a site for your one-year internship. You will then sit for the exams after the one year internship

I guess you mean government employment for the graduates. Unfortunately, it is not so with Pharm D. One reason being that not all graduates are willing to work in the hospitals. Pharmacy has lots of facets, and so as a graduate you decide which side you want to venture into. However, job availability is not a problem because there are lots of places that the pharmacist can work. Also, government employs quite a number of the graduates.
