I used to get those in my youth years. The back of my ear would stink and I'd get those cysts. My dermatologist told me that the oil and any other dirt from my long hair being behind my ears can cause this. I cut my hair short 30 years ago and never had another one!

I have found that a lot of gamers online or people who consistently where headphones online for long period of times, tend to get these. I think that possibly not wiping down the headphones becomes not so sanitary. For blackhead explanation, possibly. But for the cyst I am not sure. Just a hypothetical observation from friends.
