I removed my entire toenail because of a treatment, I cut a little strip every 2 days until the end of the nail and it wasn't really painful (and I'm very sensitive to pain) , I also put bandaid on it and little by little a remainder of the nail hardened on the nailbed while it regrew
Yeah, my son lost his balance and stomped on my foot. I told him it was alright and forgot about it. And then days later I was in the shower and there was puss oozing out of the nail bed. He damaged my toe nail and part of it had lifted and was rubbing and cutting the cuticle, causing a blister and open wounds and it got infected. The doctor put me on a pill for 3 months and my entire nail started lifting off. I went to a podiatrist and he told me it looked like it was growing in fine and then like a week later the whole nail ripped off went I bumped it against the cabinet in sandals one morning trying to wash dishes. I went back to the specialist like a month or so after that and he was like “what happened?” And I was like “remember when I was telling you it didn’t look fine and it was probably going to come off and needed to be removed? Well, it tore off in the most painful way I can imagine. Now what?” And he said “it doesn’t hurt anymore right? And it’s not oozing puss anymore?” And I was like “right.” And he was like “yeah, sometimes it just takes longer for the toe nail to grow back in normal. I know it’s been like 5 months since you started the pill, and you’re all done with that right? So let’s try a medicated nail polish. And just give it like a year.” I was so mad. But I’m using the prescription medicated polish and a medication I bought over the counter because that polish has never worked for me in the past. It’s been like 8 months I want to say and it still looks ugly as sin lol.
The way nails grow back (when they fall off completely) is so weird. Like there's a hard skin-like bump grows from the middle and it grows from both ends. As the grow they become more and more like regular nails
Hey doc! So I have a question... My nails grow out in like 2 days. Even when I cut it back entirely, they come out in 10 days, why does it happen? Can you recommend me something? Thank you! ❤
I had something similar happen to me when I was a child. I slammed my middle finger in the back car door of my moms 1970 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon as I was getting out ofvthe car while shutting the door..I had to be taken to the doctor where they had to cut around my entire finger nail to remove the pressure, & then several days later as I was playing with our Chihuahua the entire nail came off & the healing began. It took awhile but my nail grew back perfectly. I definitely learned a lesson that day on not putting my hand near a car door as I'm shutting it. 😜
I stubbed my toe on a sliding door once and I think I broke it but a few days later my toenail turned black and eventually fell off, by the time it fell off tho another nail was growing under it 🤮
So i play football ⚽ and i always hit my toe and it becomes blue and i leave it untill it removes itself and i wait untill it's replaced by itself .. and sometimes i hit it before it fully grow again so now it's always really short and colored😅
