Ma'am it's been 2 years of this video. In India there is a storm marketing of oral glutathione tablets (500mg/day). The most common ones are Setu, Plix, Oziva, Glutone, HK Vitals, Chicnutrix to name a few. Please let us know if it is still under study and whether it is found to be safe for oral consumption at this dose. It will be of great help. I personally have read some scientific papers on Glutathione used to treat (not cure) certain types of liver diseases. While the papers are focused on liver function and recovery but it does mention a change in the epidermis as a result of prolonged treatment.

I don't want anything extreme. I just want the colour of my facial skin to match my body. I used to play outside in the sun a lot when I was younger and it caused my face and arms to darken too much compared to my body. I think a lot of people would relate to this. I have used Cetaphil Healthy radiance three product system but got no result. Ps. I do use sunscreen now and avoid direct sun.

I'm Asian but born and raised in the UK, but my family being Asian they always emphasised avoiding the sun to stay fair, and avoiding sun tan. While people here go out an sun bath to get tanned. It's interesting to see how things are the opposite

Colorism is really harmful to self esteem and confidence. As a mixed Hawaiian and Irish person- my mom would scold me if I stayed out in the sun because she’d say that I’d get too dark. Getting these kinds of messages- that dark is bad or not pretty- is damaging and I think it would be better for the mental health of all people of color if we were able to let go of this idea that lighter is better. It’s still something I struggle with to this day-will be glad when I’m rid of it.

That's so true about looking more toned when ur tanned hence why si many people go to tanning salons etc. Its silly tho when people assume Glutathione is only to get light skin when i think people of colour want it more for a systemic evening out of skin tone n reduction of pigmentation in those certain areas. I'm a soc female and had 2 IV glutathione treatments, not for skin lightening but for the antioxidants. That was 3 yrs aho and I have to honestly say I don't think I would do it again for the same reasons Dr V mentioned; its so unregulated and I would worry about longterm side effects

@@soulseeker5262 i didn't really have any side effects. I just remember i got a fever after the last IV glutathione treatment. Not sure if it was related to the treatment, but it got me worried. I started to feel uncomfortable with injecting something that isn't as regulated, and that's why I stopped.

I have glutathione capsules 1000mg I dont ever swallow them. What I do is take two capsule and mix the powder with my skin lightening creams. Yes it does work. It prevents the skin from having cracks from my lightening creams and evens my face. It makes my skin glow.

As far as I know, you cannot take glutathione orally because it cannot be absorbed during digestion. And you therefore need to take its precursor, NAC. I could be wrong, but that's what I've found.

Great topic 👍 I came across glutathione and I wondered about it. I’m glad to have a better understanding of this product which is that there is no real understanding about how effective or safe it is because there is not enough research. I appreciate what you are saying Dr. V about supporting our skin care journey without judgement and I completely agree that unless it’s safe to use particular product then the risks and benefits really need to be considered. I personally do not support IV infusion unless for medical necessity due to the high risk of safety it seems like no big deal to get an IV but like you said that catheter and chemical is going directly into blood and can be fatal if not done safely. I wasn’t sure about oral glutathione but I’d rather not put that in my body either doesn’t seem worth it if we don’t have the evidence over time of how safe it is. Hello Dr.V, May I ask if you would recommend SUCCINIC ACID ACNE TREATMENT on sensitive/acne prone skin? I've been using Paula's BHA once to twice a week for 8 months now and also use benzoyl peroxide 2.5% but I don't really see any improvements on my skin so far and I really want to find another product. my daily routine is toner -> BHA (twice a week) if not then I'll follow with -> benzoyl peroxide -> naturium azeleic acid 10% -> the ordinary hemi squalane. @@creativeminds5405 I stopped taking them as I don't want my skin colour lightened. My melanin has kept me looking young. Noticed no difference with my hair. But it might have worked had I taken them for longer.

I just stumbled onto this video and im glad I watched it! I have been using a glutathione + kojic acid soap and facial lotion for a while and loved how it has erased virtually all my acne scars, decreased my acne breakouts by a lot, and lightened my facial skin and neck. I have been looking into taking oral glutathione because of its antioxidant effects as well as the lightening effects. However, I mainly just want my face color to align with my chest. So i hope to find a solution for that

Yes. Oral Glutathione works best and is safe in my opinion. I got great results from it.

Nothing ligthen the skin permanently. You still need to take it at least 2 times a week to maintain the results

Hi Doc! Million thanks for all the useful videos. My question - After relocating to the UK, from India 2 yrs ago I got severe dandruff which stopped after using the shampoos U suggested in your dandruff/itchy scalp vdo. Now that dandruff is Cleared, but still i have severe itchy scalp but NO visible dandruff. no use of any dandruff shampoos on this. Are there any particular shampoos to control the horribly itchy scalp ? Also vdo on chicken pox scarring please !

I bought the facial pigmentation kit and for months now it does not work - atleast for me. And before you ask yes I bought your sunscreen as well and use the products religiously. My upper lip pigmentation is just as dark as before. On my forehead all I can say is thank goodness for makeup.

I had the same problem most of my life my whole face was dark my body light tips no stearic acid no palmitic acid ! Also NO CHEMICAL SUNSCREEN only physical sunscreen! Also avoid magnesium topically! Lactic acid safflower oil and lactic acid and Kojic acid will lighten that face up hq and arbutin Domt use it too often on the face ! It’ll start to darken instead of lighten on us

Hi doc. I am 50 yrs old n just finished off my chemotherapy 6 months back from Non H Lymphoma. During chemotherapy i had severe eye itching so i rubbed n rubbed eyes n got lot of wrinkles under eyes. Skin has sagged n look old. Pigmentation issues. I want to start with Salicylic acid n Retinol n chemical peels. Got acne scars so want to try chemical peels. Want to do skin rejuvenation. I'm taking L-Glutathione for my autoimmune disease. I don't care about skin lightening. But I can tell you I've been been on it for one month but haven't noted any skin lightening. What I have noticed it has reduced my clogged hair follicles on my face also it has decreased hair growth on my face. My autoimmune disease is improving with L-Glutathione. For me I always thought tan skin looks better not pale skin, especially since every pale skin seek to tan all the time.

So glad to see you want to keep your melanin. So many people wanna be white or lighter skinned instead of embracing their brown or black beauty. Maybe you got an elevated level of glutathione in your system which means you produce even less melanin than normal. Check with a dermatologist
