Hello Dr.V, thank you for all the videos to get us educated about out skin. Would you please do a video on how to care/treat Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN)? Morgan Foreman is the person that comes to mind when discussing this skin issue. Thank you
I agree with you. Medik8 is backed by so many clinical practices. But her products are not. Only she uses it. Not a single clinic in London and the UK I am aware of uses her products... And all fragrances are not bad. It all depends on how it has used in the product. And I have brown skin.. She is not genuine.
This isn't the first time she's done this. She also tends to demonise fragrances and say stuff like "people of colour should avoid all acids at all times" but proceeds to promote her products with 50 different actives anyway 😂
I use Medik8 Retinal 10 and Liquid Peptides for over a year with no problems. Added Geek and Gorgeous retinal 1.0 a few months back and like that one too! That said, I wouldn't mind seeing your retinaldehyde ingredients to see if it might work on my POC skin.
I have the most sensitive skin ever I use medik8 retinal and the Vit C and they are amazing. No issues from day one. Win win winner for me. I’m allergic to everything and these for me are amazing.
@@preidie do you have melasma (or used to) that this has helped ? I have brown splotches I want to get rid of but I’m just not having luck with some of the retinaldehyde I’m using .
I was going to buy the Crystal retinal but i didn’t know there was fragrance so glad I watched this! I think you should definitely do a Retinaldehyde range even if it means a higher price point. It would still be value for money compared to medik8 so I would buy!
I think you also need to know your skin. I have been using crystal Ret for a while and it it’s absolutely a game changer. I used 3 and now I’m going to 6. It’s a game changer.
Thanks very much Dr. Vanita. Please can you do a video on Faded brightening & clearing serum? What do you think about the serum? Is it safe for the skin of color?
I odered your daily range products and suncreen dr.V When will they be out Secondly when i finally receive the antioxidant serum, do i still need to use vitamin A and C Thank you very much for all the information
Thanks Dr V for your knowledge and good skincare product. Please manufacture the antioxidant serum with retinaldehyde. Also please review the brand allies of skin s
Great review, Dr. V! Thank you. A quick suggestion: can you do a series on products that are considered “cult faves”? I’m thinking about REN Ready Steady Glow, Topicals Faded and others. Thank you for educating us and helping us save time, money and Face😄!🙏🏽
Hi Dr. Rattan! LOVE your channel 🥰 I was wondering if you could do a video with how to use your new skincare line in combination with oily, acne prone skin. I’ve been struggling with acne’s mainly around my chin area for a few months now but am also struggling with hyperpigmentation. I currently use your hyperpigmentation kit but am wondering how to use your skincare line with additional products specifically for oily, acne prone skin. PLEASE HELP! 🙏🏼
Dear mam, thankyou for your all videos 🙏 just wanted to know my 4 yrs old daughter has lot of hair on her face and now I m also seeing little open pores around her t-zone..what can be done? Can niacinamide based cream bioderma atoderma cream be helpful? What else?
In one of your video you asked about making body lotion/oil for us. Is it in consideration ? And ues please make other version of anti oxidant serum. Kindly can you make an other video suggesting moisturizer for combo oily normal skin. What to use instead of cetraben if it causes pimples on face?
Hi Dr V, 1- I noticed your The Ordinary 40's & 50's does not include Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid. Could you please help me with this. 2- Is there a way to add blackheads or whiteheads treatments to the The Ordinary 40's & 50's routine? Much appreciation for the amazing job you are doing for US ♥️♥️♥️
Hi Dr, thanks a lot for the review could you please give us an alternative for retinol, also could you please review from Medik8 the physical sun screen 50+, C treta eye and bakuchiol… thank a lot
I’m using Medik 8 Retinal 1, it’s the lowest strength as I’m afraid of irritation. I recently got microdermabrasion and it made me skin sooooo sensitive, I can’t even rub it so I’m only patting in Vaseline and La Roche posay cicaplast and washing with just water or aqueous cream… never getting that again. My skin barrier is ruined and I’m so upset😭😭
Dr V when I use physical sunscreen with zinc my upper lips and above that become very dry and sensitive (I had lip contact dermatitis three months back on upper lips) I tried several physical sunscreen same happens with zinc sunscreen, what can I do? 1. Do I need to apply thick layer of glycerin before applying moisture? Or 2. Do I need to apply vaseline before applying sunscreen or shall I switch from physical to chemical sunscreen s
@@deed2157 yeah I applied a thick moisturizer before which has ceramides in still same issue plus I used suncros, la shield, requil mineral sunscreen all sunscreen same issue
@@not35865 Try a sunscreen with zinc thats not so high. Maybe your reaction can be from another product used before sunscreen or an ingredient in the other product? Try using just the sunscreen to see if you get the sane reaction. If you only use the sunscreen and get the same reaction then try a sunscreen that that has chemical/mineral filters.
Hi! Thank you so much for your videos, I have learned soo much about my skin! Quick question: Can I wear a Salicylic acid toner on my skin and follow with alpha arbutin and azelaic acid? I read most places that salicylic acid doesn't mix well with other actives
I am a woman of colour and I’ve tried your hyperpigmentation package including the sun protection and made no difference to my skin whatsoever 😢 I am now trying the Medik8 hyperpigmentation products and after 3 months have found a vast improvement Re: Cost factor unfortunately your products I found rather expensive for what they are meant to do but didn’t - sorry but this is true feedback 😢
After viewing a series of your videos recently, I have come to the conclusion that you are trying to knock down other brands (even those reputable and science-backed ones) through shameful attempts of over-criticism and ridiculous nitpicking for the purpose of marketing your brand or mouth-watering your audience for prospective releases of your brand --- for example when you disapprove and publicly disqualify a WHOLE product that is brilliantly formulated and full of great actives just because it has a tiny bit of fragrance is something that is miles far from an objective and balanced appraisal. Biased critiques won't lead you anywhere 👎
And why shouldn't she back herself and her own brand if she has an edge. Medik8 has left space in the market by being 1. Too expensive for what they actually offer and 2. Packing their "science led" skin care with Perfum which research has shown over and over again as sensitising. No respectable skin care company should be scenting skin care. Take your salty attitude elsewhere please.
separate serum would be good for those who use prescription retinoids but still want to use your existing serum. also - regarding the ceramides being unstable in a jar - does that mean the cerave tub cream should be avoided? :O
This is disgusting.... How can you review the products without even trying??? It is like reviewing food without tasting the food and by looking the ingredients..... Reporting the video.... 🤢🤢🤢🤢
@@humanity496 that's true... She wants to create a scare among people with the ingredients and then cut the sales of the products and launch her products
Yes two separate lines would be a great idea! I’m wondering whether the one with retinaldehyde would be better for older people since it is more active
Honestly been using crystal 3 for a year and it improves texture and my acne marks diminished ...so I treated myself to crystal 6 this christmas they had 30% off sale...I know I'm not crazy...so Doc...will surely continue to use MEDIK8, if I see a problem...its on me 😉
I tried Medik8 Retinal 6 and was ok, but it’s expensive. But now I’m using Geek & Gorgeous and it’s a fraction of the price, stable. Their Stress Less serum is also good
I have used medik8 crystal retinal6 for almost five months and I absolutely love it! I have extremely sensitive skin and I haven't had any irritation from it.
If you dont mind me asking what you pay for crystal retinal 6 and how long did it last you?? I am in Canada and need to find a affordable retinal! We are building a home so everything else comes second and i need something good im 45 peri menopausal getting breakouts fine lines everything is changing i never had breakouts in my life .. I need something thats going to help the fine lines, wrinkles , dark spots and now just mack my complexion even again. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
I’ve used Medik 8 Crystal 3 and now 6. Interesting though, I prefer my skin after The Ordinary Granactive 2%(the milky one). A fraction of the cost of anything mentioned here. No idea which is the better formulation, but I can always count on the compliments after the cheapest one! Oh, the absolute shock when I’m IDed 😂🥴
I've subscribed recently and I can't tell you how thankful I am for your educational videos. They have helped me so much as a person of colour. I'm also happy to find out that your products can be shipped to Canada! I'm very much looking forward to watching more of your videos! Cheers!
Dr v , we want your products easily available to everyone, throughout the world, if possible 🥰 And so far I am so happy and thankful to you to empower a common person to choose skincare out of thousands and millions of choices, Now I am not a bit impressed with many colourful, expensive, overhyped products because I know very well the tricks taught by you 😀
Thank you for your wisdom. I'm excited about your book! Will you please do a video on bare minerals, both the matte and original versions? Also, cover fx because they suppose to be for acne-prone skin.
I agree Nicole! I'd LOVE to watch a video on those exact products by Bare minerals!! Dr V....please do this! Love your videos and your complete commitment to SOC! ❤
Hi I noticed you book says to use salicylic acid toner at the nighttime during pregnancy I trained with dermaquest and was always told not to use salicylic whilst pregnant as it’s similar to aspirin please could you confirm this? Also do you have any reviews thoughts on dermaquest products x
hello dr V . can you make a serum with retinaldehyde so we have the choice between the two ? can you had your body exfoliator to your skincare line . ps i ordered the skincare bundle so i hope to be delivered soon .🙏
Please review deconstruct breakout serum which contains Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate , this looks new , derivative of azelaic acid , is it safe to use ? And deconstruct has similar serums in affordable prices can u check and review this
Thank you so much for this video on Medik8 - it's hard to find any reviews of this brand on YT. I only recently got into skincare (I'm a 25 y.o male) about a year ago and medik8 is the first brand I've used recommended to me by a friend. I've been using their Surface Radiance Cleanse, Crystal Retinal 1 & Advanced Day Protect for about a year now. I love these products, particularly the cleanser and the Crystal Retinal. Not sure how I feel about the Day protect SPF now that I see you say it has fragrance in it. Perhaps that's why I'm still breaking out to this day? What SPF would you recommend? I'm brown skin too and Medik8 is expensive.
Desperately awaiting your opinion on the ordinary's granactive 2% emulsion. All the claims about time release..... closest to retinaldahyde...most effective etc. Need your expertise
Hi Dr V we are planning to purchase inzincable sunscreen but the shipping cost is very expensive..Dr v is there any possibility for us to purchase it from Malaysia Sephora do u have such idea to placed it there ?
Hi Dr V, this my very first to opportunity to view your video in time. I’m very keen with your new product range however they are not accessible in NZ. Will they be marketed in Sephora in future?
Hi guys I'm taking out the positives and learning from this. Dr V highlighted some key point to remember - she has made us aware that fragrances can irritate, affect our skin and it's sensitivity and to be aware of this. She has highlighted what to look out for like using a SPF skin ages because of the sun and we need to be aware that fragrances can make us more sensitive in the sun skin is affected by the environment. Ppl with sensitive skin should be made aware. But rightly so, some of us have good skin and some ingredients will not affect us. But some ingredients will - we want to avoid increasing pigmentation or dysfunction - so Dr V is reminding us - this is a Medical Grade skin Care - it can be effective but heed causion in some instances - Medical grade goes into the blood stream. So summary some products if you have sensitivity may make yr skin more sensitive and change pigmentation. Use products wisely - pH balance I love. Stronger ingredients especially aha's need to be used correctly - ie choosing retinalhyde over retinyl palminate a less concentrated form of aha is better for skin types that are more sensitive finding balance and be wary. Be wary your not drying out your skin, go for hydration, sqarelene, glycerin, Vit e antioxidants. Obviously oily acne fragrance dryd abd irritates. Think about the packaging yr ingredients will reduce with oxygen so might not last as long, for there affect. Medik8 I like its product knowledge for its peptides and enzymes ingredients that work - but only on speculation for skin sensitivities be careful as its protective side is weaker - that's what I get from this review
