I think her general treatment of Rory is pretty horrific and probably deserves it’s own list

It didn't take me that long to figure out that I liked Rory more than Amy and aside from both of them being part of a TARDIS Trio, at times I really wondered why Rory didn't just leave Amy permanently. Even at their wedding, once the Doctor shows up, Amy is _very_ eager to kiss him, and not in an innocent friendly way -- in front of her new husband!!

There was literally only one bad thing on this list and that was trying to kiss eleven the night before he wedding. The rest I just? I don’t get where you’re getting that these things are bad from? Not wanting to kill herself in girl who waited, sacrificing herself to get back to her husband, wearing a skirt, saving everyone’s life on starship uk etc. Ok actually you can have starship UK because she could genuinely have murdered everybody on the ship Other than flirting with the Doctor though in front of Rory I can’t really find any faults with her character, she’s written as quite a perfect person to be honest. Something that wasn’t really the case with people like Rose, Martha and Donna

I'm not a big fan of Amy but I feel like most of this list was unfair. I do, however, 1,000,000% believe that Rory deserved better (even though he was fine with what he got) and that her kissing 11 was just...weird. Like, it came outta left field.

the scene with amy s**ually assaulting the doctor made me regard her as lesser than any of the 3 other new-who companions, it always shocked me that other people just see it as her kissing him as well, because it was s*xual assault and people seemed to disregard this fact.

The Dalek Asylum is my least favorite episode of their time on the Tardis. I always thought Amy was a selfish brat. As long as things were going her way, it was all good. But she also sexually assaulted the doctor. A lot of their issues were because of Amy’s stupid behavior. And personally, I think the absolute saddest ending was Donna. She can’t remember becoming a better person and is right back to being the person who is a failure and had no regard for her own intelligence and worth. But her family knows. Imagine the grief every single day knowing all of those things. And the original ending for Rose. I can’t even think about that episode without crying.

The first time I watched Doctor Who, Amy was my favorite. Now almost a decade later I don't like her at all. I think I only used to like her because she looked like me (red hair, green eyes, very pale, freckles) which is surprisingly uncommon. But rewatching the show as an adult? She treats Rory TERRIBLY. By modern standards it's literally abusive. And she sexually assaults the Doctor. Back then they got away with it because she's a women and male victims are often treated as a punchline rather than victims, but with a modern lense and understanding?? Okay imagine you're Rory's friend. And he's like, "Yeah, I mean, my wife hits me all the time, calls me stupid, and I'm pretty sure is trying to cheat on me with a man who tries to turn down her advancements but she keeps going. Won't take no for an answer." YOU WOULD TELL HIM TO RUN.

Amy Pond killing that woman; Answer that question if you're a Parent. Because I would have done a whole lot worse.

I just finished the Dalyek asylum episode and seriously Amy WTF? You seriously wanna compare breaking up with someone equivalent to protecting someone for 2000 years? You couldn't go 24 hours without wanting to cheat on your fiancé.

Fun fact: Even Steven Moffat regrets that scene where Amy and 11th kiss.

You forgot that she gave up on saving Rory when he died in The Curse of the Black Spot. He came back to life after she STOPPED doing CPR. She actually gave up on him. Also, in Amy's Choice she technically kills herself and the Doctor after Rory dies.

Honestly, (4) was the moment that I as a kid officially lost my faith in and respect for her and I never really regained it. Also, I'm surprised her treatment of the Ganger Doctor isn't on here!

on #2 I don't think casually murdering someone would be in Amy's character, at all. But killing for the sake of protecting her family? I think she would. IIRC it was at least implied that by that point she regained some memory of who her husband and daughter were and who had tried (and succeeded!) to tear them apart in the main timeline.

So I'm probably last to realise this, but soooo many Amy era episodes seemed to have 2 choices themes. I assume Moffat did this to show that Amy always had to choose, between Rory or the Raggity Man. Never noticed it during my watch throughs, but now it's obvious.

Nah Amy killing Madame Kovarion was a GOOD thing and I cheered her on. I love when the heroes put away the bleeding heart can't-hurt-kill-anyone trope and actually do what's necessary. Ok maybe not necessary since she's tied up but she deserved it for River and who better to get justice than River's mother.

As a mother, if anyone had taken my daughter before I even got the chance to be her mum and then put her through years of psychological conditioning and torture to then have to wait just as many if not more years to find me again because she escaped in the wrong time and I haven't been born yet, yeah I think I would do what Amy did.

Amy is my favorite NuWho companion, & 3rd overall favorite behind Ace & Jamie. I’m really hoping that sometime in the future, maybe for the 60th, that the Ponds will make an appearance. Clara came back at the end of Twice Upon a Time, it so easily could have been Amy & Rory. As good as she was with 11, I think a he would have been amazing with 12.

I really like Karen Gillan but Amy Pond was the worst. It baffles me that so many people can be so enamored with her when she is such a toxic character. She tries to sleep with the doctor right before her wedding, constantly mistreats and belittles the man she supposedly loves, and is so mean spirited. Like Donna’s sarcasm and temper was really a mask hiding a deeply empathetic woman. Amy was mean for the sake of being mean and she wasn’t that deep but “Amelia.” Pfft, save that for someone else.

Why equate refastening Madam Kovarion eyedrive with killing Amy killing her? If Kovarion dies, it the doing of the Silence, not Amy. Kovarion had it coming.

Don't try and minimise her cheating .. she was pushed away and yet continued ... her disloyalty was so bad we almost thought the child could be the Doctor's

The issue with her kissing the Doctor isn’t that she’s getting married the next day and we all love Rory (though we do love him), the issue is that The Doctor hasn’t consented. The Doctor is CLEARLY uncomfortable and repeatedly saying no, trying to avoid her and she is being incredibly predatory. Yes the scene is played for laughs and The Doctor makes a joke about it at the wedding but in that moment his actions are those of a man in distress. Swap the characters round and you’ll see why it’s an issue, imagine The Doctor trapping his companion and forcing himself on her!

I disagree with the Star Whale Abdication button being the one of the worst things she did because and spoilers ahead if you haven't seen it yet. When they arrive on the ship they see a girl crying and everyone else ignoring yet the doctor goes ahead to talk to her and mentions that the Star Whale was really old, alone and the last of it's kind and later repeats it when talking to the Doctor and pointing out how the Star Whale and Doctor share that trait in common.

The Madam Kovarian entry is on the wrong list.

Number 2 was, quite honestly, my favorite Amy moment. And there are plenty more favs, but that one takes the cake for me. I feel that this moment wrongfully listed here. But, that's just me. Also, the trio are my favorite of the the doc/companion relationship.

Nobody is nice or good or perfect all the time. In that aspect, I think Amy is a very believable character.

I'm just confused as to why the "tradis in a tardis" episode wasn't included in the dvd box set, you get the animated episodes behind the scenes episodes but not an ACTUAL episode, I have never seen that one and would genuinely like to see it as it's a part of the Rory and Amy story arc, even with all the streaming platforms it has been on I have never seen that episode anywhere and didnt even know about it until @whoculture mentioned it in another video, Is this available on like youtube or as a stand alone episode to purchase?

If anyone has gone through that, I think they've earnt the right to take justice into their own hands. 1. Again, blaming her for being traumatised by meeting the doctor at such a young age? Yes, she has commitment issues because of the Doctor but she always chooses Rory and real life. Series 5 has her commitment issues over marriage, series 6 is over settling down and having a family and series 7 is about her settling down with a solid job and having a real life away from the Doctor

I'm not convinced Amy was chasing Rory so much as running away from River's relationship with The Doctor.

I wish I knew where to find those minisodes, I've never seen them.

I don’t particularly care for Amy, I found her irritating, and at certain times I wished they sent her out the nearest airlock. (Nothing against her actress, I just don’t respect the character.) I don’t have the same feelings etc, regarding Rory either, I think he deserved better, than someone who constantly chose The Doctor over him. But…. I do believe they deserved a better send off than being essentially killed off by The Weeping Angels.

Granted she is doing this for the Greater Good but... "Assimilation2" is, so far, the ONLY Official Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover...

Will never understand why people say this character is their favourite companion. I think they must like Karen Gillan, not the character she played. Amy was awful. As a character she would’ve felt more at home in the 80s, but even then she would’ve been a dated bad idea.

Throughout Series 5 I grew to absolutely hate Amy Pond. Her treatment of Rory was utterly vile and she increasingly came across as a self-absorbed, mean-spirited and basically obnoxious character. The above list is full of very questionable actions, but there are many more examples of Amy being a vile person which is far worse. Without a doubt, Amy Pond is the worst companion in the show's long history.

To add I imagine that Amy’s last-name is different from her great great grandparents last-name. In addition I imagine that the show series is all about JENNY’S adventures, who is the instant daughter of (The Doctor).

I don't think Amy killing Kovarian is unjustifiable seeing as in Kovarian did abduct her daughter and turn her into a weapon to kill the Doctor, and that timeline was erased.

Yep, I constantly struggled to LIKE Amy because of the choices she made with very little or no regard for the consequences, as well as her questionable morals, especially when it came to Rory!

Amy Pond is my favourite WHO companion. Formerly it was Peri Brown. Today I bought Doctor Who: Series 5, Volume 4 on DVD for $2 at a charity shop. First DOCTOR WHO DVD I bought in 7 years. I met Karen Gillan in 2015. Yes, Amy Pond is not perfect and she made mistakes. I don't know why she chose dopey Rory Williams over The Doctor. However, if Amy hadn't married Rory, River Song would never had existed. River Song exists cos of Amy and Rory. I cannot believe it's almost been a decade since Karen Gillan left Doctor Who. I really cried when I watched Angels Take Manhattan. Amy Pond is not perfect but we all love her and we all love Karen Gillan.

See theres a difference between Action and Outcome, for example. Waering a skirt, the action, its fine, Amy will be Amy. The out come is the risk of ending space and time, that's bad. Pressing the wrong button, action is mistake, the outcome is the most feel killing episode ever.

She's very flawed but I see it as response from trauma. There's some personality disorders, attachment issues etc that make her relatable to be honest. And she grows through time. It's not my favourite companion but I do like her even apart from that kiss. Come on, even Moffat regrets it xD She grows! I like that.
