Hello 👋 I just want to mention that I've been having a lot of trouble when it comes to getting copyright claimed for Doctor Who. I don't understand exactly what's happening, but the copyright claims are affecting videos that have been approved and have been sitting there for a few weeks with no issues. Suddenly, the entire video will be claimed. This is happening with every episode I upload lately. I'm going to have to start editing the Who episodes differently. I've experimented with adding a logo to this one. If that doesn't work, I will then change my layout and show less of the screen using cropping. Also, more blurs or removal of the footage. It is getting very frustrating. I'm not wanting to stop Who but I need to change a few things so just wanted you to know why the Who videos will look different to my other videos. Thank you 😊

Sorry you're having so much trouble with the Who reactions Juliette. Do whatever is needed, we all understand the difficulties with copyright. And I hope it doesn't come to it, but if it does become too much of a problem maybe dropping Who would be for the best, at least on RU-vid. You could maybe put both the full and edited reactions on Patreon.

Spot the famous person. This week the award goes to … It would go to Bernard Cribbins but I mentioned him last week So the award goes to Sarah Lancaster who plays Miss Foster Sarah is known for being in Happy Valley, Yesterday and for playing Raquel in 532 episodes of the Guiness World Record holder of the longest running TV* soap, Coronation Street, which first aired in the UK in 1960 and is still going today. *The longest running soap ever is also from the UK but is a radio show. The Archers first aired on the radio in 1950 and is also still going.
@ColinM15
@ColinM15 5 месяцев назад
*Sarah Lancashire. Who producer Phil Collinson went on to produce Coronation Street in the late 2000's, and was in charge as the soap celebrated its amazing 50th birthday (including a technically impressive live episode). Oh and the companion in the upcoming series of Doctor Who was a regular in "Corrie" quite recently. Needless to say for a show that is now approaching 64 years of age, there are many other connections between the two shows! (For one example, Anne Reid who played the blood sucking woman from Smith and Jones was married to Ken Barlow in the sixties. Ken Barlow was in the first episode of Coronation Street and is still in it now! In another programme, Last Tango in Halifax, Anne Reid played Sarah Lancashire's mother and went on to marry a character played by Derek Jacobi - the Utopia Master! (The fourth and final lead role in Last Tango was played by an actress who has had a long running role as the 8th Doctors' companion in audio adventures). Meanwhile if I was to tune into BBC4 right this second they are repeating an early 2000's drama called Clocking Off which not only starred Sarah Lancashire but also featured Master actor John Simm, and Christopher Ecclestone!

My favorite episodes are this one and Blink. Donna was mouthing "This is Brilliant!" in that one scene. Another thought, Wilfred Mott is all of us, he represents all fans of the Doctor. His joy of seeing Donna in the TARDIS with the Doctor is how we all would feel if we were in his shoes. He is a legend.

I was waiting for this episode, I knew your reaction to it would be great. Seeing the Doctor and Donna reunited is so satisfying and the scene where they spot each other is top comedy. The Adipose are really cute but the way they exit the body...yeah, not so much. Wilfred Mott is everything a grandfather should be; he listens, he supports and encourages. The bond between Donna and her Grandad is so endearing and touching. And the Rose reveal! Just when we're starting to move on and think that chapter is done with they hit you with it and all you can do is imitate the Doctor..."What?!"
@gestaltdude
@gestaltdude 5 месяцев назад
Two pieces of trivia today. First, the program used to animate all the adipose children was called Massive, which is the program developed by Peter Jackson's WETA workshop to animate the battle scenes in the Lord of the Rings movies. Second, Tennant became so fond of Bernard Cribbins that, a few years later, he and his wife Georgia (more about her later), would end up naming one of their sons Wilf in his honour. On a personal note, I'm almost jealous that you're getting to see what's coming for the first time. I won't give any spoilers, except to say there are some people guest starring in the coming episodes that will come back in later seasons, but this season is considered one of the best of the new era, and right so. I'm positive you're going to have a blast, and hope you're copyright issues resolve soon. Something tells me their likely due to the fact Disney now owns a stake in the show, and they're vicious when it comes to protecting their copyrights.

Loved Donna ever since Runaway Bride. Still my favorite Nu Who companion. For me, I think Nu Who went overboard with 'we don't have a no hanky panky in the Tardis' anymore. One time, sure. But having Martha go goo goo gaa gaa over the Doctor too was a bit much, especially only being with him in just a couple of episodes. Donna was simply in it for the adventure, and it shows.

Even Jack was attracted to him. Which was funny. Heck Jackie (roses mum) tried hitting on him the first time they met too. XD but here, finally, a companion that has 0 romantic or sexual feelings for him. 😅

Donna easily is one of my favorite companions. After all the pseudo-romantic stuff with Rose and Martha, its nice for the Doctor to find a companion who is his friend and nothing more. There are no unrequited feelings from either of them, they are just two friends having adventures together. They keep each other in check, it's great and just what the Doctor needed at this time I think.

Fun fact, Penny Carter the journalist, while not exactly the same character, shares her name with the original planned companion for this series, before they realised they could get Catherine Tate back as Donna.

Howard Attfield, who played Donna's Dad Geoff Noble, did film some scenes but became too unwell to continue and died during filming. This episode was dedicated to him. Bernard Cribbins, who had starred in the previous episode Voyage of the Damned, as a newspaper salesman named Wilfred Mott, was brought back to re-film Attfield's scenes, now establishing Wilfred as Donna's grandfather. The video release shows Attfield's scenes in a special feature.

I had no idea that Bernard Cribbins in Voyage of the Damned was just meant to be a cameo and not originally meant as Donna's grandad. That's quite interesting

@@AlmightyCRJ surprised he wouldn't have just been "newspaper man" or something in the credits

David and his wife Georgia ended up becoming so close to Bernard that they named one of their sons Wilf in his honor.

@@Cinnamon_Shaey Knowing that makes Tennant's expression in the second 60th special that little bit more meaningful, as you can tells it's not just the character that is happy to see Wilf again, but the actor as well.

After three seasons of will they/won't they, having Donna is such a breath of fresh air. I love the Doctor/Donna best friend dynamic.

Agreed, I love this season best of all the Nu Whu shows for this reason more than any other. Dr. Snog was getting a bit tired, not to mention it kept show runners only considering young "hot" actors for the role for too long. When the shows hx started with a grandfather figure rather than a boyfriend figure.

The scene at 7:00 was scripted as "Donna and The Doctor recognise each other", but as you can see Catherine Tate and David Tennant just continued acting because they love playing together. TBH Donna Noble still is my favorite companion, after all these years. There's still many great episodes to come and a lot of good companions but the chemistry between Tennant and Tate is unmatched.

And yet... When the announcement of the return of Donna was announced, the fan reaction was very negative... The problem was that Catherine Tate had done such a good job of playing the annoying Donna at the start of the Christmas special, that most people didn't remember what she was like at the end of the episode... But by the end of this episode, almost everyone was on-board.... They just work so well together...
