This set is really hit and miss. Just a re-released Dalek and re-released and repainted Cyberman so the only new figure your getting is the Roboman. They could have done so much more with this set! I would have loved to see maybe the representatives from mission to the unknown/dalek master plan and maybe the monoids.
Part Two - Oh Matt, I would have loved if you went into a rant about New series Cybermen. Yes I would have Considered buying it if there were removable gun. It would make you feel that they were trying to make a difference to the Cyberman figure. I like your Cloak Idea. In the next Review can we see more of the cabinet. Also can I request a blog about the Christmas Special. Did you have a nice Christmas Minus the Xmas Doctor Who.
Yes that does let it down, Another Cyberman. So many others they could have chosen. Are you alright, you sound a little ill on camera. I couldn't remember if it was a random person I haven't seen Invasion of Earth for ages. I feel "Toy" is the wrong word for FP Exclusives, Figure is the right word. Thrilled the flame comes out. Yes it would be awesome to have one Final Hartnell Story with a new Monster. I love your Ian and Barbara figures it makes the adventure brilliant.
I don't know wether to get this of the chase set. This set does include a Roboman which is from my favourite story, my favourite kind of Dalek and my favourite Cyberman design, however the Chase set has two of my favourite Daleks and a brilliant Mechanoid figure from another one of my favourite story. I'll wait until your next review to decide :)
I know I am going to be a bit unpopular saying this but I hope they release something like, Richard the lionhart from the chase, a thal! Mavic Chen! The Christmas tree delegate from mission to the unknown!
Great review. I never get tired of your new who bashing, MORE NEW WHO BASHING! Lol. Cant wait for the chase set, tho the eye stalks being wrong is VERY ANNOYING.
don't really think they should have included the tenth planet cyberman in this one. Not just because it's a re-release, but really there not the first doctor's era. I would prefer it if we got a cyberman in the enemies of the 2nd doctor, and got something like a proper viillain
@pupstudios1 They stomp around doing very little. They're more like robots than Cybermen. The original Cybermen were absolutely terrifying. They were watered down as the original Who series progressed, but they were always more sinister than the new Who roboCybermen.
This set costing £35 is a laugh, all that money for just tweeks, they are really taking the micky. They could have replaced the Cyberman with the Meddling Monk, that would have been better.
and i think this set is sort of meant to be an army builder set cause it is a normal tenth planet cyberman which you can make an army out of and same with the dalek and sort of with the roboman
Just got Enemies of the third doctor set yesterday all the figures are brilliant, the Auton, Omega and the Drashig it truly an amazing set, the box is massive
While the Cybermen aren't commonly associated with the 1st Doctor due to their introduction coming only in his last story (in oppsition to the multiple Troughton Cybermen stories), the Tenth Planet Cybermen still do count as 1st Doctor era monsters, because it was the only time that they appeared looking that way & the only Doctor they faced was Hartnell. I just got this set, & while two of the figures are effectively tweaked re-releases am still very happy with it :) Great review as always!
I agree with you, I think instead of the TP Cyberman again it should have been Zarby or one of those of other Monsters you mention. However I do like the Roboman and Flamethrower Dalek.
Love the sound effects at 09:07. I'm gutted about the eyestalk. I'm wanting the chase set but if I get it, I made a spare eye stalk with a silver eye ball so if I paint that back to black, I could put that stalk on one of them. Cool review. If it came with a sixties supreme dalek from Chase & Masterplan. That would be awesome
