Doctor who canon is such a mess that fans invented a new season of episodes and a new period of the doctor's life, just to explain a few inconsistencies in continuity, made over two and a half decades, and it is a glorious mess!
Join me as we plunge into the murky depths of doctor who canon and lore.

At 7:16 I mad a claim that Terrance Dicks hated trans people. This was the result of terrible research on my part. I apologise for tarnishing his legacy and will take much more care in future.

I didn't really like the idea of season 6B when I first heard about it because I didn't like the idea of a Doctor's last regular appearance in the main show not being their final story. But having now seen both The Five Doctors and The Two Doctors, I actually really like the idea.

Ok, but I have a question: How is Jamie even alive in Series 6B? Last we saw him, he was shot dead on a field, how is he alive, well and kicking when "the Two Doctors" rolls around? Did he forget to die?

We don't ever see him die. We see a British soldier take aim and we see Jamie charge him, knife drawn as the doctor cheers him on while watching on the screen.

Late comment but, could you have a geeze at the concept of the Master’s alternate identities (the Monk, the War Chief, Professor Stream and the War King)

I don't really buy those ones to be honest. The master is a master at disguise but he also craves validation for his achievements. He always reveals who he is to the doctor to know it was him. Him just pretending to be the monk or the war chief and not telling the doctor it was the master the whole time is just out of character. Also the monk is an interesting character in his own right

@@ItsButterBean1020 the war chief was a precursor to the master. He could be retconned to be the master I guess but it makes no sense that the second doctor didn't recognise him if they were childhood friends

@@thatDamnAusWhoFan true but to play devils advocate The Doctor also fails to identify Missy, Saxon, YANA and a few of the false identities Ainley used. It seems Time Lords can recognise each other but not always so, I guess it’s something they need to look for.

@@ItsButterBean1020 true, the doctor has been fooled before but the master always reveals themself. They can't help it. They live for that look on the doctors face when they realise it was the master the whole time. Infact each time you mentioned the master did reveal themself. Except for yana but sim more than made up for it

Nice video but could do without casting shade on Terrence Dicks, 1) the man is dead and cannot defend himself, 2) Its not relevant to the topic at hand 3) A school of thought is separate art from the artist, 4) He was aged 84 and maybe its me, but i think allowances can be made for people of a certain age maybe not to be s woke as most modern 20 year old's. 5) I think only on par with Robert Holmes , Terrence Dicks was probably one of the most influential people in shaping Doctor Who, arguably more because for 51 years 1968 to 2019 he wrote for Doctor Who over various media , and to put the comment you did is a disservice to him and his legacy. Let the man be, its not like he's Jimmy Saville or something. Finally, i did some looking online to support your claim, I think your confusing Terrence Dicks with Gareth Roberts? In 2019 one of is short stories was dropped because of anti trans remarks. Terrence Dicks story final Doctor Who short story, "Save Yourself", was published posthumously in Doctor Who: The Target Storybook by BBC Books in October 2019, so if confusion arose its understandable. Roberts story was dropped from the same book. If its an error, i ope you rectify it, and if I am in error, can you please direct me to evidence of your claim? G'day mate. I don't put that stuff in to throw shade as you put it. I do believe in separation of the art from the artist in certain situations where continued engagement with the art doesn't support or enforce continued bigoted bullshit. I put that stuff in to inform my audience so they can avoid their work if they want. If I talk about someone in my content who believed or did or supported really horrible shit I'm going to point that out regardless of their legacy becaise that is information I think my audience deserves to know, because online communities devoted to the work of transphobes happen to be full of transphobes and I happen to know that there are trans people in my audience and I care about their safety and well-being. I will look into it and see if I've made a mistake here and if I have and I can change it without having to remove the video from my channel I will.

I am so hyped for Beyond War Games. I don't recall ever anticipating a BF release like this before. Also, just a note: The Black Hole is tangentially related to 6B, but it's definitely not part of it. That's an alternative explanation that places The Two Doctors within Season 5 and thus bypasses the whole idea. It's a solid story, in its own right.

Before the war games, 2 would have to be dragged kicking and screaming, but in the 2 doctors he was going along with it. I get where you're coming from though and like I said, none of this was planned. It was never intended to be part of season 6b, none of it was, but it fits in the theory so I placed it there. That's the fun of theorising in this show.

@@thatDamnAusWhoFan It makes more sense in context that the Doctor does the mission. TL;DR The Time Lord constable who intercepts him gets taken out of commission by, well, the titular black hole, and in an effort to a) get himself off the hook for his interference, and b) prevent said constable from killing Dastari, the Doctor volunteers to go in his place. When the constable points out that the Doctor has no authority to do this, he goes, "Well I'll just say they sent me." And this is actually pivotal to the story of The Black Hole. Even the summary on the BF website alludes to the Doctor's compassion being used against him as a trap.

@@natsmith303 Pavo was originally intended but never stated to be an incarnation of te Master pre-Delgado. Not sure about it, but it was pre te James Dreyfuss Master meeting David Bradley's first Doctor.
