I love the fact that Ncuti is so bubbly and dramatic,I love that in my hero's,gives life and energy to the character not just template of a savior archetype.
I agree. Real people have flaws and pain. I've loved his energy, but when he screamed out into the void of space in this episode I felt that. He has incredible emotional range as an actor and can give a powerful performance. I'm also glad that we're entering an era with the Doctor as a character where he faces his pain, rather than buries it.
Sadly reading too many negatives about Nchuti as The Doctor, it is so refreshing to hear your enthusiasm for him. I haven't seen nearly enough Who but DT is thus far my favourite. Which is funny because after Eccelston, I didn't care for 10 at all! Well, you know - I got over it! And I love Nchuti more with each episode. I think he's fantastic and I love that he lets himself feel the emotions when they come. He knows the damage that was done by pushing it aside. ... Looking forward to more reactions! 😃
I know what you mean. People can be negative and even disgusting at times. I have no prior experience with Ncuti Gatwa before Doctor Who, but I think he's just been incredible. It feels like he brings something completely new to the table while still being connected to the past. I love David Tennant too. Who doesn't? Likely the most iconic Doctor of the NuWho era and deservedly so. But it was Eccleston's "Turn of the Earth" speech in his debut episode that first made me think "Oh, I'm going to like this show." Truth is I have a place in my heart for all of them. Looking forward to seeing you out here. Thanks for watching!
I agree that it would help with references. I'm definitely going to get back to watching Classic Who. I got about a season and a half into the First Doctor. And I may very well do some Classic as reactions at some point. It's certainly an option as I get going here. Thanks for the suggestion.
It's interesting to be that this more positive review has very little comment/interactions than the negative ones. It gives the impression that most people don't agree with you..
I think after 60 years since Susan has left the show I doubt will ever see Susan again since the actress is well into her 80's and has since retired from acting.
You could be right. But they are signaling toward it pretty hard. And there are a number of ways they could do it. They could potentially get her to come back for a cameo or some very light work in one episode. Like they did with Bernard Cribbins in the specials. With as far as they're supposed to be into shooting season 2, they could already have it shot. They could also cast a different actor. In which case they could do all kinds of things with it. Or they could just do it off screen. Have the Doctor mention that he was able to reconnect with Susan one last time. I just don't think they'd be bringing it up that much if they didn't intend to do something with it. I guess we'll see in season 2 or maybe the Christmas special.
