I love watching William Hartnell as the First Doctor. He's so magnetic in the way he acts the part. I have fond memories of buying The Beginning boxset back in 2006. And being amazed by how good it was and still is.
@@_TJProductions yes exactly. The music and sets are immersive and the actors play it seriously. Really feels like being on an alien planet. I think only the better Tom Baker serials recaptured that hard sci-fi edge.
Tom! I have a huge apology to make. I watched your Demon Song review some time ago; and have kept meaning to respond to it; but each time I tried to formulate a comment, I was somewhat overwhelmed, because it’s one of the most gratifyingly positive reviews I’ve received. And of course, as you point out here, it’s now a flippin’ year since that one, and time has moved on. So, today, I’m going to do it here - and say thank you so much for your kind appreciation of what I call ‘The Experiment’. No need to apologise. Haha. I adore what you and the team do with these First Doctor Box Sets. As much as I hate waiting for new first and second doctor releases, it feels like yesterday when The Demon Song came out. I loved the idea of a six-part story to change things up; Johnathan Morris always delivers exceptional writing.
