I just rewatched the entire series up until 13 (I have limits- I MIGHT rewatch before Ncuti’s season starts lol might)… and I forgot how….. sad…. Missy’s storyline ends. By that point, you really start to like her and she really has changed… Only for Saxton-Master to kill her… himself…. To be honest, I’m still confused about the timeline because even he says something implying that he’s going to turn into Missy but why would he be so different all of a sudden… Is it because he remembers that he killed himself the entire time he’s Missy so he kind of has a “I really am an asshole” feeling in the back of his head? Maybe he only remembers that? Although even that doesn’t make sense, because why would she let it happen if she remembered it? But the version of the master that they show along with 13 has to be before Saxton became the chameleon, right? If not, why is he so evil again lol. Sorry, I have this all fresh on the brain and I’m very confused by the timeline lol Pour some out for Missy - she was a real one.
"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that!? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols!" For as brief as his time as the Doctor was, John Hurt was exceptional in the role!
The Judoon callback in 1:33 always gets me. Especially when RTD specifically wrote the original "Judoon platoon upon the moon" just to mess with David 😂
The Doctor: Look at you and your Platoon of Jadoon near the- The doctor's brain: shit, find a rhyme, FIND A RHYME, *_FIND A RHYME!!... AH HA :-D_* The Doctor: That Lagoon :-) Yaz: More of a canal The Doctor: *glaring* Let me have this Yaz
5:52 do they though? Iirc we've only heard 3 Time Lord's actually speak English, it could be that the Gallifreyan word doesn't have a gender attached to it, and that lord is just how the doctor translated it. And since the Doctor is the only way the Mainframe knows about timelords River would probably use the same
Could also just be because the species name is billions of years old and Rassilon is a notorious dickbag. Perhaps in Rassilon's time things weren't so poggers, and then he was dead for a few billion years before they resurrected him for the Time War, so Time Lord civilization had long since moved on from his day. It's like resurrecting Caesar to fight a war in the 21st century.
We’ve seen the Doctor, Susan, Monk, Master, War Chief (is he a time lord?), Romana, Rassilon, General, and probably a few others. Others have said Time Lord, like Rassilon in End of Time.
I’m trying to imagine wrapping my head around the idea of someone handing me a tiny box to clarinet to be the place I live in. Me: (silent contemplation, disbelief and heartache) Chibnall: I can’t live in that. (Edit) clarinet ?? I know I'm Scottish, and I know it's a meme that VtT doesn't work for us. But WHAT??
Honestly, it wasn't too bad until the Timeless Child crap and the reveal that the Doctor has been female before. Because tbf, they had only ever been male for the previous 4.5 billion years, so it makes she'd keep messing up.
jodie just destroys this video and the show thanks for ruining having never watched her for me, its genuinely the worst thing you could have done with this compilation
Different writers so unfortunatly, it's kinda why some thematics aren't exacly treated between eras. (12 didn't complaint about it thought. What he was saying it shouldn't matter what gender you are) With that said, it still a shock to be male for most of your life and then being female so of course this was going to be brought up often
This hammock has developed a fault ... Best line ever. Not just because my brother fell from one on holiday, though technically it was the tree that developed the fault.
Capaldi is incredible, and people underestimate how many amazing moments Jodie has had as the doctor (she’s one of my favourites up there with 7, 8, War, 10 and 11). This compilation is brilliant
1:13 “Don’t make me do the old soft shoe shuffle!” I love this line and quote it all the time as dancers and performer but my stage directors are yet to laugh.
Like I love how it remind that The Doctor doesn't really have gender back then already and that it's reminding about the fact that we know they could be a "woman" since 80' lmao (For people wondering I'm talking about when Tom Baker said that he wishes luck to the future Doctor actor "whenever he or she" implying that The Doctor could be played by a woman, when Doctor Who was dying and when BBC asked Sydney Newman (the creator of the show and The Doctor's character) what to do to saves it and he just told them "Doctor Who would be metamorphosing into a woman" but also not making them like a wonder woman without any flaws, they didn't listen and Doctor Who died a bit later lol and also Curse of The The Fatal Death in 1999 and Audio Exile when the Doctor regenerated into a woman)
