Doctor Who | Reaction | 9x09 | Sleep No More | We Watch Who 

One of the reasons for Doctor Who's longevity is they remain not afraid to change it up from time to time, and don't just stick to a safe formula. Because constantly working a formula becomes just more of the same after a few seasons and then the show is axed. So yeah, this was a risky episode. Plenty of people can't watch shaky-cam found footage stories without becoming nauseated. Doesn't include me. And plenty of people are only there for the big epic story arcs. This is one for the lovers of short stories from the "golden age" of sci-fi, the short works of writers like Staniław Lem and Philip K Dick, comic books like Astounding Tales, shows like The Twilight Zone, that would take interesting light-weight ideas and craft one-shots around them. Maybe that's not for you, but DW has always been "something for everyone", not "everything for you". Now let's see how many people take the lazy route of riffing on the title rather than explaining why they think it's a bad episode.

I love this episode, how you have no idea what actually took place as what we watched was constructed by the villain.

I appreciate what this episode is going for, but at the end of the day this is an experiment that doesn't really work that well. On the plus side, we're about to get into a streak of truly phenomenal episodes

Underrated and good episode

It supposed to be a two parter, but the 2nd part in the next season. Except, we didn't get the 2nd part. Maybe its waiting for us in the new RTD era. But I still don't get all the hate this episode is getting. It's a good "found footage" experimental episode. Maybe boring, but the narrator said it for us.

This episode gets a bad rap from a lot of fans, but I've never quite understood why. I've always liked it, but that's probably because it reminded of another show called Inside No. 9, written by Reece Sheersmith (Rasmussen in this) and Steve Pemberton (Strackman Lux in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead). In fact, this feels like an Inside No. 9 written by their former co-writer Mark Gatiss, who indeed wrote Sleep No More. With its creeping terror, darkly comic tone and twists and turns round every corner, this is one episode where I feel the fan consensus is wrong, frankly.

I liked your rehearsed intro but I much preferred the old 'Missy gets random and weirds Holly out' intros of the past.

The only reason to watch this episode is to get to the next one lol Time to face it 🤪

Ok. I will give you a view count and a thumbs up but I won’t watch the reaction cause that would mean watching this episode again and I HATE this stupid episode!! I would watch Fear Her for 6 hours on a loop before watching this again. Great job overall though. Looking forward to anything but this 🤗

"Sleep no more" is quite an ironic title for this yawn fest.

This was the worst episode of this whole series it was basically filler and a snooze fest episode along with this and "In the Forest of the Night".
