I’m amazed at Jon Pertwee’s dedication to the show, decades after he left. He filmed this at the request of some fans, even going to the trouble of falling into the dirt at his age.
The mix of the War games Doctor spiraling and the reverse tardis explosion from the mind robber was absolutely flawless! Great work all around for this. This was excellent
@@Steven_Andreyechen Yes I think you have spotted it. However poignant reminder of Jon Pertwee's genius. I saw him on a stage production of Doctor Who shortly before he passed and he was still excellent in the role some 20 years plus after he left the tv role.
the footage of Troughton is from the ending of the war games (where his regeneration into Pertwee wasn’t actually shown). The footage of Pertwee is from a fan film called Devious (where the third doctor regenerates from a fan made Doctor instead of the second doctor). I just edited them together to show the actual transition from Troughton to Pertwee
Great job, one of the best I've seen. The only change I'd make if any is removing the shot that shows a bracelet appear on Jon Pertwee's wrist. It's always kind of bugged me since I saw the Devious footage. Not your fault as its on the footage you used. Otherwise flawless.
I was 10. It took me a long time to accept Pertwee as the Doctor after he fell out of the Tardis. I don't think I understood there had been a regeneration.
@@goldenmaplearts1264 they could be talking about the actor they used who morphed into Pertwee in the original Devious scene, but if they are talking about Pertwee then I don’t blame them because he was so old then that he sort of did look like a different person
First time I ever saw this . Thanks. I only saw the last few episodes of Pertwee's Doctor when I first saw Doctor Who in early 1970s on PBS here in USA. Sarah Jane was already the companion.
Yeah nice work. It flows right, it's slightly slow paced, but to good effect. It certainly works better than the single almost comedic scene alone. This sets a tone of solemnity. It's more like a death here. It's genuinely unsettling...it reminds me of Dave Bowman's aging scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Thanks! part of the slow pace might be because I didn’t really want to get rid of any of the footage of Pertwee since it was his final onscreen performance as the Doctor
@@LarvaeGun I didn't say that the slow parts were bad...it worked. That 2001 scene works because Kubrick made the choice to go slow and inexorable. That added dramatic tension. You made the same call, and I think it worked. And you are right...cutting one second of Pertwee's footage would be vandalism. Great job :)
3rd Doctor's First words in Spearhead from Space: Unnh… Shoes, must find my shoes. Unhand me, madam. 3rd Doctor's First words in Devious: No... NO.... NO!! NO!!!
(I'm fairly certain that someone may've ✍️ written this prior.) No matter. I *LOVE* that you used the modern sound-effect for the re-gen 🔆 energy! 👏👏👏 Magnificently done.

This is an excellent edit & love it! Even if my only small ”issue” is that 3rd doesnt have same hair shape & colour as in Spearhead from space, but it’s a small detail I can live with. And I know its from the DW fan film called Devious which Pertwee took part in for a very small & could almost be thought as his last time playing 3rd Doctor, it’s one of the closest things we got to an 2nd doctor regen so close that it could almost be canon (cuz they got Pertwee to be in it & that wont be POSSIBLE again!). So using that for a master edit like this is such a true honor even if it’s probably the only way unless you can make it as they peepz who made the 6th regen from big finish to an actual scene!
We personally do believe time travellers do exist and we personally being one of a VERY SMALL LEGITIMATE one of them, we personally feel like we've been exiled but if whether buy means of protection or punishment we have no idea
They hadn't hired a replacement yet. Jon Pertwee wouldn't be hired until a few months before filming the new series. This was the only time they had to film a regeneration without the new actor being available until they did the regeneration of the War Doctor into Christopher Eccleston's 9th Doctor. And, of course, Colin Baker refused to come back to regenerate into his successor, so they had Sylvester McCoy film both incarnations with a sh___ty wig.
No reason to blame Jodie, her performance while imo not perfect could have worked, but the scripts Chris Chibnall put out would've been difficult for any actor to get right
@@LarvaeGun It could also work taking 6B into account: The CIA finally realized they couldn't control the 2nd Doctor and simply handed him over to the Time Lord High Command, who forced the regeneration after the Doctor returned to his TARDIS from his latest mission. Remember, The War Games ended without returning the Doctor to the TARDIS, but Devious shows the regeneration starting IN the TARDIS. You could take it that Season 6B began when the CIA grabbed the Doctor from the void and making their deal with him. What do you think?
No it's Jon. Back in the 90s, not long before he sadly died he was asked, as a favour to take part in a fan film called Devious which takes place in between the 2nd and 3rd Doctors with a Doctor who is a sort of inbetween Doctor who is a mix of 2 and 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q5Gx9Fz8wEs.html
