When God sends his miracles, how could you not be impressed? My mom woke up from coma and has been talking, yet when she talks to the doctors they ignore her. The nurses who were so excited to see my mom talking, suddenly wonder if shes actually talking or if its a reflex. Maybe they dont WANT my mom to talk because she has something to say about the care she's been given! God is good all the time, God has given us this miracle and now we have to get her moving and get her well again!

Grandma Esther is an amazing woman! So are you, Andrea. I don't know how you stay in control dealing with the medical professionals. I just went through a battle with them that I haven't recovered from. My brother died a month ago from cancer...three months after his diagnosis, after receiving no treatment, and much suffering.

Andrea, I want to give God the praise and I want to give him glory through what he’s doing in your mom‘s life and I want to thank you for not giving up on your mama because when my husband had a hemorrhagic stroke he was not expected to live either. Never to talk if he did live never to walk if he did live so let me just say almost 3 months in the hospital and months and months of therapy. He is now the mayor of our town so don’t ever give up on your mom and I know you want. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I haven’t shared my story because sometimes people don’t know how to except some things, but God is a miracle worker even the doctor said he was not supposed to live. God bless you beautiful lady. I have followed you a long time and I love your family. I think you are the sweetest thing ever. Keep being strong for your mama because it will pay off……🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏…..🍃💗🍃

My gf is a nurse. She says that docs and nurses see these cases as no real life once awake/alert. They understand the " want" from the family, but between strokes and brain function, it's not a functional life. We can't really say who denys God. I know it seems like that, but they are coming from a mindset of what the person would want and what kind of life will they have. Me personally, my LW and DNR is to the point. I don't want anyone taking care of me, that's not life for me. Don't be offended by the docs. I know some amazing doctors and nurses that know and love the lord. Have your decisions in order everyone. It's very important.

Something is not right here if the medical people aren’t responding to her improvement. She needs a transfer of doctors and also place and a review by someone else. Please advocate for this. Why is she being treated differently than anyone else with a brain injury and not being given therapies and rehab and better supportive care.

I was in a deep coma 10 years ago. It is soooo hard to wake up and it's very confusing. It was confusing and uncomfortable to have lots of noise cause it feels like a dream. I was soooooo thirsty!!!!- God bless your Momma!!!

Your mom is not in a coma! How could anyone deny that? Staying positive is a must. Maybe the thought of all the patients they took off of life support is too much to bear. The thought that some of them could have survived had they given them just a little longer to let the brain heal. I pray that she continues on the path to healing fully. Keep supporting and encouraging her. Its working. They hear everything thats going on around them, so keep explaining everything to her. Do they have those sponges on a stick for moistening her mouth and cleaning her mouth. You might have better luck than the ice cube in a cloth.

Hi Andrea, the progress your Mom is making is stellar! She's moving her lips much more and continues to improve. Like a another person said, she totally moved ger head up and down when you asked if she wanted out of there! It wasn't a lot of movement but it was detectable. Could it be that the hospital keeps promising the speech therapist but never books them just to piss you off!!? I'd be tempted to engage my own therapist at this point and bring them in as a "friend" coming to visit her. That would probably be against protocol tho. Still praying and sending positive thoughts for your Mom and Dad. I love you guys!!❤❤

Andrea, the doctors aren’t happy because they know she has a long road. It’s just the matter of the unknown. I used to work in a rehab where these stroke patients were vegetables with a pulse. I don’t even think that it matters what the doctors think at this point but just understand they aren’t psychic. And please do tell your mother details if she can understand them! Any murky things can be “white lies” jeez. These keyboard jockeys on here are nuts. Your mom is doing great! Don’t worry, it’s gonna be okay.

I don't know why Doctors would be 'unhappy' that a patient is getting better. It's their job to look after them in the best way possible and help people to recover. Every patient is different and Esther is doing well due to the hospital care, plus support, from both family and beliefs.

Do you think without doctors, she would have been saved? It's the doctors who kept her alive with their knowledge. Yes they made some mistakes by giving her platelets but if she was laying on a hospital bed with no doctors in the hospital, she'd not be here now. I believe in God, but to say the doctors didn't perform a miracle, that's bs. I think God was by her side, but it was definitely the knowledge of the doctors that helped her live.

If we brought her home a week after the aneurysm, she would have made a full recovery. The doctors actually made HUGE mistakes with my mom that cost her a lot of damage and a lot of suffering, and it was the doctors fault 100%. The surgeon saved her by inserting the coils that stopped the bleeding. Had we brought her home and not gone through ALL this other bs that was unnecessary, she would already be back to doing whatever she wanted. No, doctors didnt save my mom, they damaged her more, and to undo damage, they caused more damage. It's not a place to get well. Get your surgery and get out as quickly as possible, and dont let them do things that are not necessary or you'll never get out alive.

She looks so much better and happy to see her with her glasses on...How can they say it is a reflex..she is listening for sure and responding....I think it is good you keep talking to her she hears everything you are saying...This is a slow process and every day she will get better with the proper care...Let's hope they follow through with the speech therapy that is important.. She keeps looking down at something...I keep her in my prayers every day..

When my Dad survived an operation that they didn't think he would after being a month in the ICU the head ICU doctor told me "Don't bring him back here ever, he is a drain on the medical system!" And they tried to kill him by overdosing insulin and not having any food in him, so a nurse caught me and said "We overdosed with inuslin, call here but only talk to me and make sure you put sugar soda in his peg tube or his will die." That nurse saved his life. We got home a twenty minute ride and his blood sugar was already down to forty! Do these things really happen? Well it did to us! It's all about the money.I am SO GLAD God has intervened! Prayers are bigger than mans plans... ALL THE TIME! : )

Your mom’s improvement is wonderful. It is true about hospitals being to fast to write off people as hopeless, especially older people. Can you try to pin them down about the speech therapist, ask the name of the therapist and what time they will show up rather than a generic someone will come answer? Hope she does get therapy.

So maybe I've missed it, but isn't respiratory therapy suppose to drop by every so often and do "weaning parameters" on her and the ventilator? It's where they wean off the ventilator just momentarily to check and see if she can breathe and for how long she is able to keep up. This is how they know when she is ready to be weaned off the ventilator and is capable of breathing on her own.

⁠Andrea, I’ve suggested before about maybe starting a gofundme for her hospital bills. If we all donate even a small amount it can add to a lot very quickly! Will help not only with bills but with getting other kinds of help to your family like food delivery service etc so you can focus on grandma mainly and not worry about cooking etc. ❤

I read her mom has flesh eating bacteria I guess from her food peg site 😭 This has been some very hard times for sure for them and I have been so anxious because I just want grandma back home and hopefully back in the videos being herself! My favorite videos had grandma in them. She’s a hoot for sure. Also praying her dad pulls through. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Use her eyes to answer your question. She is good at blinking them. I check everyday for an up date. Love your Mama and keep praying for her. Thankful for the miracles that are happening in her life.

Andrea, make them give her PT. She needs to get her limbs moving. If they even know if she can move her limbs, I’m sure they haven’t cared to check. So proud of your mama and you guys for hanging in there she has the world to live!

I am so sorry for everything you have to go through. I had a similar situation with my grandma. If you love a person, you just WANT to see they're awake and communicating. I've been there. It's a state of denial. However, it's impossible that ALL the medical staff at both hospitals are bad and you know better than every single one of them. I am so sorry. I hope Esther will recover. These doctors learned about how a human brain works, about vegetative state and minimal consciousness. If you try to read about it - even If it hurts - it will help both you and your kids with dealing with the situation. Right now, your mother is not awake and she is not talking! That's why none of the medical stuff shares your happyness.

Any one been doing physical therapy with her? Moving legs like riding a bike and arms. The arm swelling will be from some excess fluids she may need some Lasix. Also placing then level with her hear up on pillows will help with drainage

Or a board with alphabets and point to letters, have her blink yes or no to choose a letter to spell something she wants to say.

Ive watched this over and over Andrea and I hope this helps what I'm about to say... I've watched my mommas lips so many times through the years when she was intubated. So I'll share what I translated from her mouth and lips... She tilts her head down after you mention Raphael and Abigail as if she's looking for them in the room at the foot of her bed then it Looks like she said at 3:20 something about "Raphael" and then "this morning" and then she kinda grimaces and says "I forget" I hope that helps... This is a miracle she is a miracle and even if the Drs don't want to acknowledge it, she is healing and she is communicating with all her might. God is good every single day and night and I believe this miracle will continue to progress over the coming weeks and months. Just keep believing and thanking him ❤

Andrea, your mom is looking better and doing better. It is a miracle and all the praise goes to our almighty Father Yahweh. It is so sad that doctors are not acknowledging her, encouraging her. But you and your family are and I guess that is what counts. You keep fighting Esther. We are praying for you and your family. Lots of peace, love, and blessings to you all. 🤗😊❤🙏

Andrea, get on the phone with the hospital administrator! I had to do that with my daughter years ago to things done! SMDH... It's so damn annoying...
