I am the patient in this story. I started having stomach problems at about 3. I was cleared of all the normal issues and told to toughen up. (I am a little girl.) Problems continue. Second grade I have Sister of Satan as a teacher. (Was a horror to the whole class.) I raise my hand to ask to use the bathroom and she totally freaked out on me. I was so afraid I couldn’t control my bodily functions and she came 12 inches too close to me. I opened my mouth and give her a fountain of vomit down her dress, over her stockings and into her best dress heels. Whole class rioted!! Scream, throw desks, stand up in chairs - shocking for 7 year olds!Turns out I had several stomach ulcers and IBS. No more problem with the witch of 2nd grade.

What a bitch, screaming at a kid just for asking to go to the bathroom. 100% deserved that.

I guess my own bad diagnosis was when I was 16 and thought I had a UTI. Lots of cramping, chills, vomiting, etc. I was basically immobile because of it. It was absolutely horrible. Ended up going to the hospital where they said it was appendicitis and then sent me to a children’s hospital that was nearly an hour away. Went there and they said they didn’t think it was appendicitis so they ended up just giving me antibiotics and sending me home. Called me the next to tell me I needed new antibiotics because I had untreated gonorrhea and gotten some of the worst symptoms you could get apparently. Worst time ever and definitely used a condom every single time after that.

When I was 18 I had a bad UTI but webMD told me I had appendicitis, cancer, AND an ectopic pregnancy (despite being a virgin). My dumb ass went to the ER for a UTI. So it goes both ways 😂

My son was born with the big head. A barely out of residency pediatrician suspected a genetic abnormality and called in a geneticist. I had no idea this guy was coming. Luckily, I had just bought one of those fancy digital cameras. I showered him pictures of my husband and FIL. Dx: takes after his father. It took years for my son to grow into that head.

Other end of things. Believe it or not (and you may well not, but keep in mind that this wasn’t the US and they lived in the boonies), a couple of second cousins of mine (husband and wife), both died of cancers that were misdiagnosed. The wife’s chief complaint was chronic fatigue- couldn’t understand why she was suddenly having such a hard time getting out of bed. Doctors told her she had depression. She protested that she wasn’t depressed (it is something one notices). By the time someone figured out what it was, the cancer that had evidently started in her gallbladder was destroying her liver (and she died a couple of weeks later). Her husband died a couple of months after that. He had been dialed with allergies. But, well, he had cancer too! 9 kids.

Like two or three weeks ago I was playing a zombie game with my friends and I was acting like a raccoon and I pounced and landed on my hand in a fist shape and I heard a crack and after I was trying to distract myself by playing with some bugs but my hand started to hurt worse and worse and started crying after a few minutes my friends knocked on my back door and when I got inside I told my grandma I broke my finger and she told me I probably just sprained it and after a week she called my doc because it still hurt and I could move the actual bone so we went to the ER got some xrays and the doc was like she broke her second right metacarpal in half and I turned looked at my grandma and said “I KNEW IT WAS BROKEN!” Excitedly. To be fair we didn’t know For sure it was broken at first and it was barely swollen and looked normal that’s why it took so long for us to go to the doctor

my dr is so used to me being conservative about wanting antibiotics that he pretty much takes my word for it if i think i need them. but damn it i think last year it was allergies, i guess, not a sinus infection. arrrrgghhhh (but i'm still not sure because it didn't seem like allergies, it seemed like a cold i couldn't fucking shake... like when i had a sinus infection the year before. *sigh* but it didn't really go away totally with the antibiotics. i felt a little better for a little bit, but then felt sick again for a while. so yeah. no idea. i guess it's allergies because i'm not going to keep trying antibiotics and dr visits unless it gets worse. shrug)
@a_lethe_ion
@a_lethe_ion 4 года назад
Have them do an antibiogramm on the bacteria you likely h. Bacteria can develop resistance spontaneously or get it from other bacteria, so using antibiotics of the wrong type or one the bacteria is resistant will make it betfer at first but regress after. So if the AB didn' t help for long ask the doc to have the stuff checked for the bacteria, then have an antibiogramm made that can tell you which specific type of AB can kill it.. Lets all hope its nothing multiresistent :/

@@a_lethe_ion thanks for the advice. if i get worse i'll do that. right now i seem to be pretty low symptoms, so it probably is just allergies? i just used to be able to tell the difference :( i guess, idk. not all the courses of antibiotics were for naught though as i did have a few other issues, a scratch on my head that got infected was the first course, which was followed soon after with another for an abscess tooth. i was feeling pretty lousy for a while after that and i think a couple months in was when my dr gave me a course for 'cold can't shake' whatever. (but it may have been the abscess tooth still and/or allergies as well at that point, i'm really not sure) after the initial feeling better for a bit, but then feeling worse again after that, i tried an antihistamine for allergies, but that left me feeling much worse rather than better (my sore throat was so much worse for example, i felt pretty dehydrated despite drinking water so i figured that was mostly why the medicine left me feeling much worse) my last course of antibiotics last year was about 6-7 months after the first course for the infected scratch and it was for any residual infection left from the abscess i still had when i finally got those teeth removed. (the surgeon got what infection he could see all out of there though, but i did have a bone graft put in and was stitched up) i'm left to think that maybe some of my being ill was due to the infection in my mouth, possibly, so now that it's better, i guess i'm mostly feeling better and my remaining symptoms are just allergies? but like i said, if i get worse i'll get it checked out. the only slight bummer of it all is i haven't been able to donate blood for a long time since i'm just not sure if i'm well or not. :/

@@KB3TLR.RU-vid comments on mobile are the worst, one false tap and everything is gone..fucking youtibe devs should maybe change that -_- if you know you have allergies, you could take(if you can take them, pls see your doc) over the counter antihistamines. if they work, it's an allergy if yiur mucus/snot is yellow and or you have one sided headache that feels like pressure and hear fluids swap if you do a bit of fast headbanging, or very fast nodding.. its a bacterial sinusitis. the swapping soundsis the infected snot. always fun sign. clear snot is either allergy or viral infection, but if you have tried a dose of anti allergy medication or idk whether nose spray or eyedrops are available wherever you live, that should help discern the differences
