That Mian ki Malhar performance from Pt Bhimsen Joshi should be kept in a nuclear blast proof vault for later civilizations to discover. It is an absolute tour-de-force.
Very interesting to see Jasraj Ji teaching to the young crowd. The first yaman song, he even taught to me and I do teach it to my students!!! Daniel Schell, Sangit Academy Brussels
Agree, this era made documentaries that were people who actually wanted to learn about something. I can't really explain but the no frills approach of these older documentaries really appeals to me, they seem timeless.
She is durga jasraj . Daughter of pandit jasraj ji 😊 She told herself at one interview that the child singing at starting of this documentary was her 😊😊😊
Indian youth ko ye kuyn nahi dikhayi jata . What a shame for our country most people make fun of Indian classical even though they don't know anything about it . I don't know about music but by watching their efforts I cant say a single word to their love for the music they both are great .
Two of you here below or above understand nothing about the depth of BJs performance in this short film which is produced, directed and narrated by the late James Beveridge of Canada.
I respectfully disagree with you.. I see many enthusiastic, promising new generation classical singers and instrument players. They are collaborating with each other, experimenting, spreading awareness amongst new generation Rasikas. In the coming time classical music will only flourish and touch new heights.
@@krishnadongre1 I just wished they had some of the rigour that these two stalwarts had in their training. They never "collaborated" too much, never "experimented" much beyond barely necessary, and stuck to their core music. Thats what makes their work legendary.
Mahan guru pt Jasraj ji ko shashtriya Sangeet ki Annya sewa aur uske prati atut nishtha ke liye dil ki gaharai se barambar pranam! Jai hind!🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳🙏
That is legendary tabla player Pt. Nikhil Ghosh ji🙏 who himself is a very accomplished Sitar player as well and has deep knowledge of all the ragas. Feel we are so blessed to be listening to these great maestroes.
Aapan legacy carry nahi keli - V N Bhatkhandeni bharat pinjun kadhla aani Hindustani classical music shabdbaddh kele .. pan kiti jana na he thauk aahe .. Vel nahi geliye
@@aravindsekar4714 Thank you. Might have come back to this documentary at least 50 times just to hear this part. It also sounds similar to Jaijavwanti but I am no expert. Wish there was a longer version available.
abhishek Is is a link to the raga referred to as the Miyan ki malhar and Miya Malhar. autrimncpa.wordpress.com/miyan-ki-malhar/ Sometimes, the designation of piece of music or work of art can change in different era. These documentaries have been done many decades ago.
Not sure how all this got put together as a film with JMI on the cover but the baithak in the end was held at my grandparents home in Pune in the 1970s...
There's nothing like west or south west classical music. It's not decided by the location of the artist. There are two types of indian classical music north indian and south indian.
I would have like this video but this is posted by jamiya Melia who did very drastic blows to indian constitution..as I think... It's my personal view...
