what is the word for rice in khmu language? I want to know because in my tribe from India we call rice as khaw. We are known as the Khasi tribe and we are also part of the mon khmer Austro Asiatic language family.
Khmmu, people are very nice, honest, hard working, sharing, understanding and we live our lives, as one community no matter where we at I am love and proud to be khmmu people.

I am Montagnards Degar indigenous from Central Highlands of Vietnam ,I looked on history Khmu people are Mon Khmer , speak Austronesian family , we are the same group long time ago when Laostain , Khmer and Vietnam migrants not moved in our land we are the indigenous people to the region buy today we divide the Country.
Khmu people are not Austronesian and they don't speak Austronesian language. They are a sub ethnic group related to the Khmer people. Khmu have nothing to do with Degar people.
My possible answer to the end of this video, the natives have to learn about the problems and they have to find a new way to farm crops There are many ways to do it as long as there is enought resources

I like to watch your video because Khmu is poor like Hmong and they live on the high land mountains northern of Laos like Hmong, population of Khmu up to 610000 is same as Hmong population too. Hmong in Laos is 700000 including Mien and Akha too not just only Hmong.
they live by equitably, they don't cheat, don't have parasite with another people, they live enough. To reprove another people is not good, you have to look yourself. I'm sure that your grandparents used to be work in the field for growing rice before. so please don't be haughty!

I have family in that village you film. However I don’t know much about my people because My mother and father was force to leave Lao /Thailand when I turn 7 years of age. There all different language, (Khmer is Cambodian) , mong is also different. Laos or THAI, is the only language spoken by everyone’s and most elder and parents teach us youngster.. @loakid Young
Khmu are the indigenous people of northern Laos. They are a part of the Lao kingdom. Khmu are the older brother of Lao people. Their language belong to the austro-asiatic/mon-khmer.
