Just bought a 98 Dodge Ram 2500 V10. Has the infamous dash crack, howevet nothing like yours was haha! I am in Alberta. I am on the look out for another dash, found a couple of places but can get pricey but may bight the bullet. Thanks for the video mate.
Dashs are expensive depending who ya buy from. New are more then My truck not really just didn't want to spend LMC price. It's an easy swap just take your time.
My truck has a dash skinz dash cap and the previous owners had already put it in the truck, but I am glad because this 2000 ram laramie slt would be a real pain in the ass to acquire the interior pieces for it not only has the rainbow thread seats and door panels but not counting the dash skinz dash cap which is fairly close to the top of the dash color but they had ordered this particular truck with a two tone Chrysler mist grey light and dark..looks neat but would be a pain to track down some of the interior.
I’d put a dash skin on it now before that starts to disintegrate. Right now you have the most material to adhere too. Plus it will help to keep that one intact.
Damn that looks like a lot of work. Mine's turning to pieces, not a diesel either. Didn't realize the unit had to be dismounted from the firewall area like that. Like Rob said, definitely get a skin since you went used on the new dash, I was planning on buying new and getting a skin in 5ish years, but yours may stark cracking on you in just a few summers. Don't know if LMC auto ships up there or not.
My dash is gone as well. The major problem i have is the sub structure is pretty much all broken as well. I comb the junkyard looking for one. When I find one I am not looking forward to replacing it.
All i can say is if the heater core hasn’t been replaced that you know of do it now…or forever hold your piece for $45.00 or what ever…..because you might be kicking yourself in the ass later!
@DuckbumSD ya it's not that hard of a job just don't loose any of the screws. And if your heater core is leaking or needs to be changed that's a good time to do it.
