@@msmith8532 that’s how it is with this charger sxt like it’s not fast and it’s not slow and it’ll beat the average car but it stops at 120 because of the governor and it’s annoying and I know it has more in it
@@texasstreetkings537 yeah I’m a way my car is still governed unless I get a custom tune, because it still won’t let me redline it and also the reason it took so long once I hit 160 was because that computer is cutting off the gas flow this car still had some get up left to do 170-175
How did you get your stock Charger RT to do 60-130 6 seconds faster than they actually do it on gps-verified devices like Dragy or Vbox? This whole stretch was downhill or? Cuz these cars DONT do 60-130 in 16 seconds. It's in the 20s.
I like the R/T, and I plan to maybe get one, but just for comparison, my cousin's former '17 Type R, got to165 SO MUCH quicker !! Night and day...It's equally as quick, or a touch quicker all the way around, except from dig, unless you do near perfect throttle to clutch ratio...Not it's forte...It's also actually designed not to rev past 3,500 RPM, as to not destroy the front end, due to the high torque, FWD...It may be a 13 second car, but it ate an audi s5 for lunch and it's quicker than you'd think...He beat the poop out of it, but the engine was rock solid and it didn't burn any oil...Honda is no joke !! Just sayng :):)
@David Geerling oh no doubt they are fast for sure great cars. I'd take drive one every day if they weren't so far beyond msrp. I was just saying that 5.7l makes a great noise, though not much power for heavy cars like charger and challenger compared to the 6.4 which is right amount to get them moving the way they should.
@@bikerbeliever8169 OK...I c your point about just talking about their sound...IDK if U know this, but at least a couple years, the Type R's were well beyond msrp even used w/ high mileage, and it was worth every penny and still would be today.. My cousin got almost $35,000 for his '17, in 2021, w/ just short of 50 K...Yeah, the scats and srt8 392s, are definitely suited for the weight !! 🙂🙃
@@bikerbeliever8169 I understand, you may not wanna spend the far beyond msrp price, regardless of if their worth it, or not !! I also definitely prefer a V8 sound to a turbo 4, or just a 4 :):)
Love it, love everything about it. My 2017 yellow and black Dodge Challenger RT will do this all day long. Let me guess Diablo tune and you removed the governor? I'm assuming the road is flat all the way through as well? I like the interior lights so I think I'm going to have to do the same. After my yellow bulbs come in. I want my headlights to match my car. ;)
Not sure how that year model will work but I went to Diablo and got a new unlocked pcm and had the governor removed which allows you to hit those speeds
@@msmith8532that's badass. The 5.8 Hemi is a fantastic motor. I loved my 392 Hemi. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bKc3ze2qQ8I.htmlsi=EFF2EukXiEO37Upt Tj
Not terrible but kinda is lol. I had one and the top end is just not all great. Sounds good? But just runs out of gas up there. I had a v12 BMW that could get to 160 in 27-28 seconds so...put that into perspective. 5000 pound car too. My Hyundai Genesis 5.0 also would get a second wind and could definitely pass a scatpack after 140-150.
@@texasstreetkings537 yeah from the factory it's not enough power to move that sled. It's a great motor but dodge holds it back to sell more of the srt models. Obviously you can build a 5.7 and make it a great platform. I have a '13 dodge avenger 3.6 now and that would beat an older rt 😂 or come close lol.
@@duskshel8119 I seriously wonder why Dodge even bothers with limiters knowing full well their customers are going to do stuff like this. And I'm curious what a V6's top speed is. I know it's limited to 119mph due to the tires.
I believe she’ll go faster if I get the proper tune my rpm is still governed, I can’t redline it and you see once I got to 160+ it wouldn’t acceleration anymore, she had some more in her but the computer cut off the gas supply which is why it wouldn’t get past the 165 (flash) I’ve gotten her up to 166 1 night unrecorded
The car could always perform this way but the dealership put all the restrictions on it, so that’s why I say stock because it took a computer to turn it all off....you can’t add horsepower with a computer
@@msmith8532 its tuned and also for a higher octane gas you admitted it in another comment lol your car made some gains aint no shame in hiding it bro.. and what you said is beyond wrong lol you most definitely can get power just from a computer tune..which you did lol
@@msmith8532 I haven't taken it to the limit yet. Maybe 110 or 120. I'll try to go a bit further next time I'm on the toll road. I'm in Texas. I know they're limited to 150, at least the cop cars are. I just was surprised it wasn't pulling harder after 100. I have a 2012 genesis 5.0 with 429 hp stock and maybe a tune on it (last owner left a tuner in the front) and it just pulls like a freight train to 150 in no time, it's ridiculous. Just thought the 5.7 with 370 horsepower would still be decently quick after 100. Maybe it's just the damn five speed lol
@@msmith8532 yup. It needs more gears! My genesis has an eight speed. Helps tremendously on the top end. My dodge is a trooper though, pun intended! Lol. Used to be a state trooper car. 183k miles almost and runs great, no issues. What mods would you do if any if you were me? It's tempting to cam it but that might be too much on the old engine. Maybe just a tune, exhaust, intake, etc.
@@AustinRides7264 mine is an 8 speed but the problem is even with the tuner the computer is cutting out the gas flow, which is why it stopped accelerating once I got to the 160s I was only in 6th gear on that video before it just stopped. I wanted to do extra mods and stuff to it but I watch videos in here all the time of people with RT’s they have every bolt on you can have and still can’t beat a stock 392, I might just leave my car the way it is and get a 392 when I get done paying it off than putting all that extra money into this rt
Rts are governed at 145 Daytona's are governed at 150mph without the governor you can hit this speed on my daytona eco mode is also tuned out I've had mine to 159
Besides governor removal what about it is not stock, it accelerated this fast before the governor removal, there’s nothing else added to it no bolt ons or nothing
@@texasstreetkings537 “high speed controller”, it’s dodges limiter but it gives you top speed of 156 while the regular “engine controller” gives you 135.
@@tragik183 Lol 😆 😂 U wish 🤣 😂 without a ECU tuned alots of upgrades with that 🤣 little upgrade you not reaching no 175 unless you have upgrade alots of parts 5.7 struggle with just a ECU tuned...
@@youngbanger1977 well mines not your average 5.7 you see around and mine doesn't struggle like how your did when it hit 125 mph and forward its a little modified i guess thats why its not stock
@@dougjones2705 yes and it took it forever to hit its top speed he must have been on one hell of a straight long ass road to be going that fast for that long, I have a 2014 bmw m235i with 320 hp bone stock and it hits 160 in no time
Even if you have a 3.5 vq35 Altima you are nowhere near as fast as this haha. Not hating but we both know your Altima isn’t doing 165. Hell, neither is my Jetta. But you know what I mean. I had a 07 Altima and it felt slow as hell so idk what Altima you have 😂😂
@@Zenosynes every Camry, accord, Altima, maxima that’s tried me no matter the year has got gapped pretty bad idk what yours would do but even other 5.7 I jump out in front of them too so
It’s stock I don’t have anything aftermarket on it it’s only the governor removed from it..it stills performs the same way it always did it just doesn’t shut down at 135 anymore
@@jweezy216 it’s been moving like that before I got the tuner it’s been slightly faster than other RT’s that I’ve lined up with I’ve beat a ‘12 camaro ss and hung with a scat until the governor kicked in on rolling race and gt’s I’ll be side by side with them for a few seconds and then they slowly pull away from me
@@jweezy216 yeah sometimes I see what this car feels like and I’m just like if the rt feels like this I gotta see what the scat feels like I’ve driven the 2018 gt 6 speed and that thang is moving, it doesn’t have the torque it’s just fast, but I hear the 392 has both the torque and the speed
So 165 mph right? Yep im going to say that, that is plenty quick for anyone who might have a few things planned for the day 😉 no worries mate, well just go 165 and we'll be done before you know it 👍
