Is your truck heater not working? Does it get warm but have no fan? If so this video can help. A common problem that keeps your heater fan from working is the fan motor resistor. This video shows how to remove and replace the resistor. Comments welcome

Thanks man!! I was about to pull apart my lower dash and pull the blower and test it cause I was sure it has to be burnt out. Saw this video, pulled that part and... It was TOASTED. One of those spring looking connections looks like it fried like a bad fuse. Ordering a new one now. Thanks a bunch!

Big help. Tore up dash and was about to pull and order control unit. Took a look at “resistor” that I had no idea was for the blower. All I did was unplug and replug the connector. That was all I needed. It worked. I still need to clean that connector. Thanks.

just what went wrong with my heater, the pig-tail is ok but the block is burned out, new one is on order and will be here in the morning. now i got to check your page for any more videos on a dakota.

Great tutorial! I watched cuz I have 2000 D Dakota, which is not heating well.............but my fan does work....think I need a thermostat...........really great info tho!!

hey thanks for this video!! dads dakota same year heater blower stop working yesterday and fuse was good but no current was going thru, saw this video and that's what was wrong , replaced it and now it works , thanks again!

So my problem is that i cannot find a 5 prong resistor, oreillys only sells 2 and 4 prong resistors. Is the 4 prong a replacement for the 5? And if so do i need to buy a new plug as well?

Sorry but I do not know the answer to this question. I would have bought my parts at one of 3 places, Advance Auto, Autozone or O'Reillys. Sometimes I buy from Napa as well. Usually I shop for parts or compare prices in the order that I have the parts places listed. Good luck.
