@@bigboreracing356 That Cuda driver was clearly launching early. Not sure if he jumped the gun, or if the Demon driver couldn't drive for shit, but it made a big difference in the race.
@@jeffjackson9679 Well, the Cuda driver redlighted in the first race, but did run a faster time. In the second race, the Demon driver was asleep at the wheel. The Cuda driver is a pro (except for the redlight) and the Demon driver bought a car that he does not know how to drive.
If you can't see that the cuda jumped the light, you're blind. Either way the cuda would have won. But lets be honest, both races the cuda did have a headstart.
That Cuda is clearly modified so those races hold zero value. I watched a modified skyline destroy a Bugatti, does that mean the skyline is really faster or did it’s owner throw a ton of money into it making it a rocket ship. Modify the demon and see who wins
@@cameronandersen6186 I'm a fan of old and new mopar so I hold no bias, but you're making an argument for a factory built race car in the demon...the cuda with its strongest factory engine (426 hemi) is only 425hp and ran 13's, so it has to be modified just to even the matchup.

For what a Demon costs, it better damn well outrun nearly everything on the planet. I can build a car for half the money that can get groceries, head out to cruise-ins, go out on date night and on Saturday.... smoke a Demon. My latest project is a 454 bored 30 over. Dart Pro 1 320cc heads, forged rotating assembly, T&D SportComp 1.75 shaft rockers with a custom mild Howard’s Cams camshaft and roller lifters. The ring gap was opened to .028” for N2O. Engine made 529hp on 93 octane pump gas at a super lean 15/1 a/f ratio. Fatten the a/f ratio up, give a few hundred miles break in time and you’ll have a 550hp street engine that you can drive anywhere. Plumb in a 250 shot of N2O and say goodbye to Mr. Demon. Close the bottle valve, purge the line, then drive it to Sonic for a milkshake. All for under $12,000. Mr. Demon decides to modify his car to catch back up, and I’d simply drop $15k on a 572 Chevrolet Performance crate engine, plumb in the same nitrous system, and smoke him again. Demons are toys for wannabes that can’t spin a ratchet and want to play race car driver. Not to mention, nearly all of the Demon’s cheerleaders don’t own one, and have never actually ridden in one.
Drag racing is more than just having a fast car. That launch was so perfect it looked like he cheated but he just caught the other guy sleeping. It's kind of like drawing a gun in an old west showdown.
1971 Triple Black HemiCuda was the most sinister looking car ever made and I would still take one of those today over anything out there. Those beasts sold for under 5k back in the day and are now worth millions.

Demonology is spanking BUILT mustangs with a car from the factory with an aftermarket tune.You can drop all the money you want into a fox body turning it into an all out drag car just to beat a factory car. The Green "Plymouth" Cuda did red light first pass but not 2nd. Imo I believe it would've been a closer race had the Demon driver had any experience. Even his burnout was weak. I am old school mopar all day but that demon is a beast from factory. Cuda is not factory but like the footage
The dude in the old skool car jumped before the light was green... That's why he won that one and technically the one before. So to me both of those races wasn't legit.... Pay attention to the lights!!!
I knew a guy that had his 79 mustang new and he drovevtye hell out of that car. I had a faster car, but he chopped down the tree on my ass every time. The one and only time i caught him slipping on the light i missed the easiest gear (4th) and he came around me! That man had seat time and experience!

I've owned and raced old school muscle cars back in 80's other Mustangs, Camaros, Chevelles. Then moved on to Fox body Mustang 3rd gen SS Camaro. Got bored with Muscle cars then started with JDM in early 90's before they were called JDM. I owned Starlets, RX3, RX7 with Grandnational motor swapped in, 1999 sec gen Eclipse GSX last JDM was Evo VII. In 2000's start with Euro Sports once again bored with 1/4 mile racing so over it so started with Euro sedans and coupes Bmws, Audi, Benz and Lexus. Current two toys S550 Mustang built motor 620hp and Lexus ISF FBO Tuned E30 blend 504hp. Nothing crazy on either car. I've raced on the street, 1/4 at English town before they closed that track crying shame Atco. 1/2 and 1 mile races at Mojave Mile, Want to fast event's. I Have my SCCA license as well and have been on Monticello, Lime Rock New Jersey Motorsports Raceway Park. So unless your older than 55yrs old have 40yrs or more different forms of racing then you can ass Brits say Fuck Off! Someone said the Cuda is heavily modded well YEAH of course it is if the Cuda had the same compression and a blower with the same boost ( remember blowers never came on factory production cars before )as well as a comparable cam who do you think would win? I can tell you see this test was done by a couple of guys in SC that has money to burn except it was not a Cuda it was a 71 Challenger and the Challenger won every race against the Demon. Why more cubes torque and HP they came to the conclusion that the original Hemi head simply flowed better than the Demons in a blower application. Maybe? that's the reason why top fuel has been using the Hemi for decades?
Of course Cuda has to be modified to run against Demon. Theres over 400hp differences between two. IMO as long as both cars are putting down roughly same hp that's what matters especially when your matching up two cars that are nearly 40yrs apart. How else are you going to have even race.

That 'cuda sounds like music to my ears. That's my dream car in all black. It has the perfect idle too. Loved hearing many cars like that growing up. I'll take a Demon too, but will still want a 'cuda.
Cuda slips past the line first race and second race cuda either had an amazing reaction time or redlited to close to call. Good run from the demon the last run.
If you actually know drag racing, we saw something very peculiar. In the first race, both cars came up and pre-staged and then they both staged, the second light, and then, the lights went off for the Cuda momentarily and then, they both took off at the same time, but the red light came on for the Cuda. What is strange is that the red light did not come on immediately after the staging light went off. The Cuda did red light the first race, but did not really take off until the Demon did. I am puzzled by the momentary lapse between when the staging lights went out for the Cuda and then the red light came on. It seemed like at least two seconds. Basically, he rolled through the staging lights and then stopped before he took off. 1:12.

In '68 Mopar came out with the Super Stock Cuda and Dodge Dart. The most badassed cars ever to come out of an American company, by far. Some might wonder why on the Dodge side, it was not the Challenger, instead of the homely Dart. The reason was that the Challenger had a slightly longer wheelbase than the Cuda and so, weighed a bit more, but, it wasn't just the weight that made the difference, it was the fact that that longer wheelbase made it harder to transfer the weight at launch to the rear wheels. The Cuda, with various engines was very successful at drag racing, but the Challenger, not so much. In fact, even though they had the exact same engines, and transmissions, you hardly ever saw a Challenger in drag racing.
The cuda driver clearly has more experience, props to him. The demon driver clearly has to have more experience but he would do better than all of y'all in the comments
I love both of those cars, you can't judge the demon's driver he could launch in time and lose, that modded cuda with more than 1000 hp is a beast impossible to beat for the demon

Love both cars, but we are living in the era of horsepower! Could you imagine in 1981, while driving your Chevy Corvette with 180 hp that in 30 years cars will come out of the box with over 600 hp? Look at that new Mustang, its gonna have over 700 hp from the factory!

The last race... The demon driver pulls off a 9.85.. not bad... Also keep in mind.. What they're doing in the end is actually finding out which car could do the best time. But hey.. The cuda is amazing and the demon hits 9's
