Good run in the first race, that’s about what I’d expect on paper. I wish Dodge would lighten these cars up, imagine how fast a 3600 lb Demon or Redeye or SuperStock would be.
My step dad sold his v6 Camaro when I bought my 3v and got a hellcat. I did some math and if my car had the same weight as it does now and pushed only about 550 hp it would be about as fast. I didn’t take into account too much gearing but it’s crazy how much weight can change a race
@@perplexedxbox5930 I’d still take a V3 over a Hellcat any day, doesn’t take much to make them just as fast in a straight line but it would take an act of God to make a Hellcat handle like a V, or be as comfy
@@SRT_CHEE they have much lighter cars with as much or more power at the drag strip, a19 ZR1 weighs 36++ with similar power and it puts it down fine, it’s all about weight distribution. It would be very hard for Dodge to lose that much weight on the current platform though.
The demon is build for drag racing. But the red-eye has a higher top speed I believe. So on a 1 mile drag race or on a highway the red eye could be way faster.
@@SlimShadeTree28 You drive a four wheeler which means you have a truck and it's probably a Chevy that's heavier and slower than a Demon and Hellcat. So how you gonna say you don't want to drive a land yacht when you literally do.
@@justnerp false lol I drive a grand prix, no power maker but a good travel car. Way to assume asshat lol and I'd sure hope a fucking chevy truck is slower than hellcat or demon, their ment for work not speed 🤣 doesn't change the fact those cars are only fast in a straight line, camaro and mustang would EAT those on any time attack or road course 🤷♂️
I think the Dodge Demon is okay on a 1/2 mile drag because it does the same times as a 599cc sportsbike. If it hits 7.3 seconds to 10.5 seconds, It's hitting 1000cc motorcycle times. For a heavy car, that's really good in comparison.
Power to weight is so close it comes down to tires and drivers. More impressive is a 1987 Buick grand national with bolt ons can match or beat both. Mine was in the 11s with a upgraded turbo, intercooler, intake, injectors, wheels and tires, and a chip.
i love the looks of each of them tho i like the plum crazy 20?? Hellcat Redeye better (I love those gold/bronze wheels with the plum crazy!! it looks crazy awesome) (do you know if the guy had the hellcat redeye emblem in the same colors as the wheels?) that would be awesome
Most Often Passed At Races. Back in the 70’s you were laughed at by hot rodders if you drove a Mopar because they were such POS’s. The only reason for the high value of classic Mopar muscle cars is because 99.9% ended up in the scrapyard leading to very limited supply vs Chevy and Ford.
@@themarathoncontinues2289 but hey that new Shelby gt500 it's gaping all of your hellcats 🤣 and it's a way better looking muscle 🚗 and sounds way better 😉
Year's ago I seen a drag race video of this guy who built the Hell out of what I think was a Gremlin, well when he launched the car took off so hard it flipped him right on its roof and it skidded a little ways. I laughed so hard it was just so unexpected,Dude should of bought wheelie bars. I bet it's on You Tube Somewhere Edit; I found it, it's called "Flip over backwards wheelie" pretty straight forward title
