The OD (outside diameter) of that air tube is 1/2". If you buy a 5/8" CLEAR tube with a 1/16 thickness it will go over the air tube without leaking. You can use 2' of Electrical wire insolation for an air tube to go inside the funnel. I used 120 volt size wire insolation(heat to separate from copper wire) for the air vent and it took about 6 hrs. to fill. I'm sure a 220 v gauge wire insolation tube you be a lot quicker.
Why not use a vacuum oil extractor down the vent tube to remove most of the fluid and then replace with fresh? Seems easier than having to go under the car to remove the drain plug... thanks for the video! :-)
@@nickv5013 thanks for the reply. My wife owns a 2018 Dodge Journey FWD with the 2.4L motor. I can't find any drain plug, check plug, fill plug on the front PTU transfer case. I'll keep hunting around on Google or forums for any info. Let me know if you may have any information on this model Dodge Journey. Thanks.
As stated, only on AWD. But if you 2009 is indeed AWD, the drain plug is behind a small heat shield. You'll need to remove a 15mm bolt and bend the heat shield aside to access it.
The job he did is o.k do not cost extra money. But I change the drain plug to the oil drain plug which cost me about 80 dollars. And pump the oil from the oil drain plug the way more easy and only 20 minute I finish the job.

Hi friend, for the dodge journey, both rear differential and PTU are the same, use only full synthetic oil. Be sure to buy the little turkey pump and use your mouth to push the oil in the PTU. Use patience too 😜 good luck
@@blackskyrecord Alright, thank you very much ! I was wondering if it needs friction modifier additive, because I was worried if it contains clutch pack which requires those aditives. Also it is overheating as hell (C145F DTC), so as soon as rear end locks, it overheats in 2 secs of pedal on metal in mud ! I just hope that changing old fluid is going to fix this problem.
