Dodge journey radiator replacement 

My folks have a 2009 Dodge Journey SXT with the 3.5L engine and I just replaced their radiator. I managed to do this without having to disconnect the condenser. The two lines he disconnects on the passenger side of the vehicle, the block that they’re attached to has a 10mm bolt that goes through it. The bolt is a little recessed in the block and it’s a tight space but I managed to get it out. The drivers side there’s a bracket that holds the lines and it’s held by one 10mm bolt on the front side looking towards the back of the car. Of course I had the bumper completely removed which made this easier. I was able to get enough room to lift the radiator out without having to capture the Freon and disconnect the condenser.

Thanks for the video. I just did this today but I was able to do it without removing the freon and AC lines. It was a little harder to do without disconnecting the AC lines but it worked.

I didn’t drain the Freon. Removed headlight and tilt unit out slightly and you can remove the connector from the radiator. But your video helped me out with everything else. Thanks.

Very GooD!

You dont have to remove the a/c to do this job. The transmission oil cooler is easier and cheaper to remove. The a/c will move back. Just remove the 10mm bolt coming in from the side of the connector and you are good to go.

I seen this done without having to remove the freon and separate the condenser from the radiator while still in place its harder but can save some mula

You do not need take all that apart . I removed massager headlight . Was able to take the line bracket off no problem after loosing everything else uo hoses off

I have a 2009 Dodge journey, took it to the shop today they said I need a new radiator there a leak somewhere underneath.... They wanted to charge me over $500 to do it is it something I can easily do myself?

Why do you have to plug in the gas pipes?

Changed my water pump, thermostat, replaced reservoir & just put in a new radiator and my dodge journey is still running hot. No water in my oil. Any ideas what could be wrong?
