It's Fine I guess but you know they are getting rid of challenger for good wish they were hybrid because how would an electric car work if you charge it but lose power?
I'm a 90-00s car fanboy who falls in love with 307, I prefer old, antique and gas cars more than EV. Efficiency? Reliability? I don't care! I just want some very tasteful aesthetic car that suits me!
@@Marsonpika I had my 2008 Dodge charger for many years and tuned it myself. The fact that this channel is trying to advocate for this garbage is terrible. My biggest question is who is this car for? It's early for me since I like big V8s.
At 5800 lb curb weight, it will corner like the Queen Mary and with 137mph top speed, it will see the taillights of Hyundai Sonatas and Toyota Camrys ... They should release the gas variants first to save the brand. Releasing the EVs first, will only skittle color the dealer lots for miles and miles.
@@kbarrett1844 Nobody? Glad I've finally found the one channel with no reckless drivers. I'm sure there are people racing their Mopars at sanctioned events, but it's got to be less than 1 in a hundred. Racers won't save Dodge.
@@donniechaffin6897WTF? Why would you spend that much money on a ridiculously fast car and not drive it fast? If I wasn’t gonna drive my car like a man I would sell it.
@@jdproductions6147 im talking about in 2017 when the economy was booming and the car first came out. $70k is a fully loaded zl1 with the 1le track package. The msrp of a 2017 zl1 started at $62k which is not far off from $55k.
@@Inferno45 far off? that is seven grand more. Besides you are comparing a 2017 price to 2024.. when if adjusted for inflation the same Camaro would be $76,928. So over $20K more than the new charger
@@jdproductions6147 True but a $25k increase between generations is still a lot. I get they increased the horspower and replaced the v6 and hemi with the Hurricane but now this car isnt gonna be as acessable anymore to a lot of people. and this could be bad buisness for dodge since they only have two vehicles, the Hornet and Durango (which is also getting replaced soon). so the charger was their cash cow and now they will probably sell less of them due to the price increase. This can also be seen with Truck manufacturers struggling to sell their trucks because they overproduced too many trucks and the high prices are driving customers away.
For sure. It was already a behemoth. Weighing this much really kills it. Until battery technology advances dramatically so that they don’t have to weigh as much as tanks they will always be inferior to gas vehicles. At the prices they are going to be charging too! Why would anyone want this over a blown mustang which weights 1/3 less or something like a vette that weighs almost half as much? Forget bad track performance, this thing will be hard to even get to turn at slow speed on public roads.
Really? These cars we’re already bad at turning. At the rate they are going next gen charger after this will be harder to turn than modern 18 wheeler and weigh more than the hummer EUV!
Bruh how are you going to say "Toyota just saved ICE's", "Honda just saved ICE's", and "Dodge just saved ICE's"?! 1)Which of them did it, and 2) Dodge didn't do ANYTHING saving ICE's since they switched to an EV and are LATER offering a twin turbo I6?! Dodge is nothing without their big block V8 mentality and Stellantis is killing them. I swear if they bring the Viper back as a crossover EV im going to lose my mind.
I keep seeing hate for the new Chargers, but me personally, I love the look, and the fact that there are both 2 and 4 door versions as well as gas powered makes me happy. Besides, what's to stop one from buying a 25 or 26 E-Charger and stuffing a supercharged street hemi and 8 speed in it? No smog requirement.
It will look good sitting in your driveway most of its life. 300 miles a charge, nowhere to charge it on the road. In cold weather, cut the mileage per charge in half. Every seven years, the power plant has to be replaced @ $20,000.00 USD. But it will look cool in your driveway.
You made a better commercial than dodge, they should hire you. you made this next-gen charger seem WAayYAyy more interesting than dodge themselves did.
Yea but both would lose to a moped in any kind of long distance race. Bring back the fabled cannonball run, it would be fun to watch these EV junk get beat by a Yugo by like a week
The owner did want to keep the v8's, but he made that decision because of "Climate change", and Joe Biden pushing the automotive industry to go electric which is stupid!
These things weigh 5900lbs. That is actually heavier than the electric HUMVEE. Elon doesn't care about these things, because they're too damn heavy to pull their own weight. I'm not even a fan of these electric pieces of shit. I don't care about the benefits.
I'm just glad Dodge listens to its buyers and didn't turn it into a crossover. As far as it being a vacuum, I imagine it'll sound better in person. I've played the audio through my phone but I've also played it through my truck speakers including 2 12" subs. It sounds way better in my truck
Read the room man, an Inline 6, a boring design that looks like a slightly aerodynamic eraser on wheels, stinky overused full frontal LED headlight. It’s the exact opposite of what we wanted. You can get an F-150 Xl 5.0 V8 for the same cost and yet you’d have more hp and a much better experience.
Weird how they hear that we all lose respect for them, then they try to win it back but its a pitiful excuse for a muscle car. American muscle means V8 power. The Hemi is the sound of freedom. Fine make an electric variant, but we want the Hemi back.
Only thing is though is the weight of the car. They need to tweak something, because 137 top speed, weighing 5k lbs? Yeah, they definitely didn’t think this through
Ngl I love the looks of the new chargers! Interior looks super futuristic aswell and im digging the in-line 6 turbo engine! I had a olds mobile with a inline 6, packing around 230 hp maybe more, super quick instant acceleration
Let's be real, dodge aren't marketing this car to normal people, they're marketing it to police departments, because that's where they'll make the most money on it. It may be a slap in the face to muscle car enthusiasts, but it is quite literally the perfect American robocop "excessive-force-mobile" which I think is probably exactly what they were going for
Lets be real, if anyone is gonna buy any of these, its gonna be the Straight 6 version, and even then, its gonna probably be a HEMI swap. Id be shocked if that 3 ton electric piece of crap would be able to move at all
Does dodge not realize that thier customer base wants one thing and one thing only; a RWD muscle car with a big ass screaming V8. Until recently they were the lone knight keeping muscle cars alive, and now its going to shit
Personally why they just didn't made an hybrid? If they wanted to improve performance they could have the electric motor a better participation in drag and give the combustion one for high speed
From saying the Porsche, then Toyota and Honda, no brand is re ally saving the ICE as of yet. Title is kinda misleading but then, the Charger looks great. I'd like a 4 door variant tho. Hurricane I6 seems super cool. EV Charger name is fitting. Just like the Ford's lightning ❤
When he said Dodge is doing dodgy things. I think it will end up having more top speed and more options than they say. such as dropping in a hellcat crate engine fellaz. Plus awd that’s a plus.
@4:08 😂 Evading the law in an electric car is a thing of the past. I would assume they can just program it to lock the doors and follow the patrol car to the station.😂 Gas/diesel powered is the only way 😅
I think i speak for a lot of people when i say this, its not just about the speed or the horsepower, its about that emotion, that scream, that bellowing rumble of the engine, you dont get that with EV and another thing if its lithium battery your actually killing the environment faster than internal combustion, mining lithum can posion water supplys and if you breath in at all while mining lithium any of that dust powder or whatever gets into your lungs that can lead to some serious health issues, not to mention the smoke coming from the mines of lithium is one of the leading factors as to why our atmosphere is dying, yeah ev is kinda cool, like the ev's from the future movies or time traveling movies but realistically its none sustainable cause lithium is not a naturally reoccurring resource, once its gone its gone for ever, so we need to find an alternative, go look into the hydrogen engines that is in the gr corolla packing 560 ponies burning pure hydrogen and is not toxic to the environment at all, not to mention it has the heart of our traditional v6's and v8's alls we gotta do is make it more viable and do more research, if anything hydrogen can be made constantly and is never running out, thats our future not ev or ICE
Dodge needs to put a hemi V8 in this charger and get rid of that EV variant most people won't buy the EV variant of this car I forsee the V6 variant selling more but I will say the Charger's design is good and the old logo is a nice touch
Not gonna lie, if Dodge made it sound like the Wraith... That shit would be dopeeeeee. This is their time to shine. Nobody wante a fake V8 sound.. Give it something cool. Wasnt the Wraith also a Dodge? Fkin DOOO ITTTT.
0:44 Dodge is not doing Dodgey things. If they were doing Dodge style then it would be a v8 at least, I can see the twin turbo being swapped in for the super charger for a change but if it’s not a v8 it’s just not it
Genuinely curious to see what the Inline 6 motor is gonna perform like cause many legendary engines have been inline 6’s for example BMW’s N55/S55, Jag XK6, Fords Bara motors and cannot forget the legendary duo JZ and RB
