Back in the early 1970's I found the remains of a 1917 car in a paddock. It consisted of about 2/3rds of the chassis & 1/2 of the Budd manufactured touring body. It still had the remains of the engine & gearbox. After gathering parts for a couple of years, I started to do something with it. Windscreen parts came from three sources, the grille shell was made from two & the radiator, from three. I built it as a HiBoy Hot Rod truck with a very short flat bed & a 1965 Chrysler 273 engine & trans. Front fenders & running boards were added later. First registered in September 1972, it is still on the road fifty two years later.

@@roadrarities I sold it in 1977 when I married. The wooden flatbed has since been replaced with a T pickup bed, the 273 was replaced with an LA340, & the live rear end was replaced with a Jag IRS. It's now red instead of blue & last I heard, it's interstate, about 1000 miles away. I'm now working on my 1933 Dodge 3 window coupe that I bought in 1968. Yes, I'm old. The three window coupe body was an Australian-only style, as was the Roadster, the Touring car & the Composite Coupe. [Like a Ford "Sport Coupe" with fixed fabric roof] Been collecting the rarest parts for that on & off for fifty years.
