@kalebisrael The reason manufacturer doesn’t have intake systems such as ours is because of the money factor for them. It costs more to design a performance kit and they lose money when a lifetime filter is on a vehicle. If the stock system was already as good as is got, then manufacturers wouldn’t have their version of performance systems available through their parts department. I was did this install recently and went to take off the hose off the crank case plastic cover and the male part into the plastic broke straight off. So I had to get a new cover and that wasn't fun to replace.
Why couldn't you just add a breather to vent the oil instead of using the vent hose. I think a breather is better because you avoid having oil running up into your throttle body and intake manifold leaving them cleaner for better performance no gunk. Either way the oil temperature is the same.
@h1tm4n26 Because not everyone wants the fastest car if it decreases gas mileage, cargo space, etc. I don't know who you are. I didn't ask the question to gain an argument. My question still stands. If you can't answer it then move on.
@h1tm4n26 Well that's not true. If that was true every car would have the same engine made of the same parts. To stay competative manufacturers must make products faster, cooler, and more efficient. If it only costs the manufacturer a few dollars for more horsepower, it would be worth it to them. So the question still stands. What makes K&N worth my money?
i have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 with an aftermarket k&n intake. I have horrible performance going up hill, mine has two holes with nothing installed in them, no sensors or anything. just holes. Could this be my problem?
Yes it does not fit on a 2013 4.7! I tryed anyway and the difference is in the heat shield! The tube and air filter fits perfect! The heat shield would to but on a 2013 4.7 there is a metal tube that goes right beside the airbag which doesn't let the heat shield fit correctly! Unless you were to cut a notch out of it when you get it! If you were able to cut a notch out of he steel in the heat shield it should fit perfectly!
