To be clear, muscle cars are now about 80 years old. All of these things change given enough time. If they want to compete, they're going to have to go electric and no doubt this car is going to be very quick off the line. Heavy, expensive, but very quick and just as spacious if not more.

The 3.5 Ecoboost is more powerful and capable than the Coyote, and the Coyote isn’t that much more capable than the 2.7 Ecoboost used in some F-150 models. Therefore, I’m confident Ford offers the V8 out of respect of their fans and because they know it sells.

For now... yes. But the same CAFE standards will hit Ford in 2026. All of their cars sold will need to add up to like 50mpg flert average. So when 2026 comes, Ford will either do the same and stop building V8s, or they'll build so few of them to keep their average up and they'll charge an outrageous amount. Dodge doesn't have fuel efficient vehicles to hit that average MPG and get away with it, so they don't have a choice.

What system are they even fighting? Their parent company? They aren't fighting then. If Stellantis as a whole cared so much about their performance vehicles and performance trims for Dodge, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, and Fiat/Abarth they wouldn't try to make them electric. They would have instead subsided the emissions fees by making more hybrid and electric vehicles for the rest of the line-up. This is a very simple thing they could have done, but they choose not to because they do not actually care.

And with all the potential advantages of EVs over ICEs from an engineering standpoint, it's a no-brainer to use. Really the only real downside is that the materials are usually mined in placed where there is child labor, but even then, that is a matter of getting it from more responsible sources

If you want to know what it weighs with out the battery and with the Hurricane inline 6 in it the car it weighs 4,641lbs. This car is not only heavier but it’s even longer than the previous platform. I don’t know how these guys didn’t listen to the number complaint of the chargers and challengers for all these years was that the weight was slowing these cars down. It was the only thing holding all these engines back the 5.7, 6.1, 6.2 and the 6.4 Hemi. That was the number one thing people always said was the cars are just too heavy. Now these log heads have went and dumped another 2,000 pounds on top of the previous platform. You throw a 6.2 in this car you will get smoked by Hellcats on the dragstrip because they’re lighter I can’t believe I’m calling a Hellcat the lighter vehicle in a car comparison. Do you see how ridiculous this a Hellcat is actually the lighter car in this situation a Hellcat V8 4,300lbs Vs 4,641lbs Hurricane inline 6 it does have all wheel drive but that Hellcat is going to reel it in even if it gets out first 707HP vs 550HP the Hurricane is 341lbs heavier than the current Hellcat platform and less aerodynamic that power to weight is going to kill this new Charger it’s just a waste of money if I wanted a inline 6 I would’ve got a BMW the only way I’ll take a inline 6 from Dodge is in a midsize pickup truck and gas commuter sedan like a Toyota Camry, Hyundai Elantra, Honda Accord or Nissan Altima
