​@sociosanch3748 pretty sure the pirates swept the Dodgers multiple times in the past few years, especially at PNC Park

Same with European top soccer clubs, they perform well against another top club but lose to the bottom in the national list 😛 In soccer, we think it's an attitude issue, players are hyped for a top opponent and look down on the bottom. Pretty sure baseballers have a way better attitude and they just understood the opportunities.

@@BasedAurelius yeah and walking guys by trying to be too cute up 7 when they can barely touch your fastball is how that happens. He simply is not gonna have the same approach on the mound in a 1 run game vs having a 7 run lead.

And Mason Miller is originally from the city of Pittsburgh😅 I couldn't believe it when I found that out. They are seriously electric to watch for sure. And the MLB is not shy about hyping Skenes every chance they get. And as a Pirates fan, I'm not complaining😅 Good luck to the Guardians bro🫡

Only on the radar of those obsessed with velocity. Why get too exited when the same thing that happened to Mason Miller will happen to him. Nobody but Nolan Ryan can start throwing 100. Everyone gets hurt. The arm can't take the pressure. Look at the history of guys who throw that hard starting. It's bad. Once he's in the bullpen a guy throwing 100 in the bullpen isn't special anymore. Maybe, like Miller, he gains a bit of velocity but even then still not special. Tyler Rogers got called up at 28 after being good his entire pro career. Why? Because he throws in the low to mid 80s. I'm sick of velo this velo that, stuff this, stuff that. If you wanna get on my radar be unique, funky, be good without velocity. Someone throwing triple digits honestly shouldn't be news anymore.

@somerandomguy5977 You want funky, unique.. thoughts on the splinker? It's a pretty nasty out pitch that has legit hitters looking stupid. Skenes has only had 5 starts, if I'm not mistaken, but he is off to a damn good start.

I think he's allowed two trips to the mound, maybe one for the pitching coach. But he should have pitchers warming up earlier. I guess he thought Paxson would settle down.

I was more upset when he struck out looking. He did move a runner along then got a hit and drove in a run. He's moving very, very slowly in the right direction. If the season lasted to Christmas he would bat .300 and Grove's era would be about 2.50

The pitch before that one against Mookie was literally strike 3. That pitch was a make-up call. Teams need to be able to start challenging balls and strikes like they do in the minors.

You’re nitpicking the bad calls against the dodgers. The strike zone wasn’t amazing this game but the calls didn’t favor either team. Also Grandal is one of the best framing catchers in the league, that’s why the pirates start him when he’s batting less than .200.
