I LOVE this series! Keep doing these. Since it's winter there, can you do a lager?

Great idea. Would love to see a few more, then a final video comparing each of the whiskeys to each other.

Not a beer fan, bc I’ve determined I don’t like much in the way of hops. There are a few I can tolerate. I was looking recently at some different beer recipes that I could do this very thing with and see how the flavors come out after distilling. Thanks Beaver!

Nice! 🥂 P.S. Today I will make another batch of beer Pilsner style from Latvian malt. This summer is very hot and hard. Beer sometimes help to resist heat and get a little drunk and more happy 🍺. About whiskey. I do things very simple. In last Bearded video he use enzymes and malt to make whiskey. I use ordinary grains - crush all stuff to the powder - than gelatinization process, than enzymes and at last sugar and yeast. And I use only 10/1 ratio (10 liters of water to 1kg of grains). It is very OK. Something like that. Cheers!

My suggestion for your next Beer experiment in your Beer series would be the Windhoek Lager Beer Recipe from National Food Products (the home brew shop)

Excellent work!! Maybe triple the recipe and make striping runs or add more malt extract?

I used an Irish Stout recipe without hops to make a whiskey. It actually came out excellent after one month of oaking in the sun with white oak and sugar maple wood. The final taste was chocolate notes up front with vanilla back taste.

Fascinating series, I'm comparing notes because I tried this myself last year with 10 different beers. I recommend a "Budweiser clone" or any other rice adjunct lager. Or just work your way down the EBC from stout. 🍻🥃🌾

Hi, how match priming sugar seclusion (ml?) do you end up putting in the bottom of them white cap bottles before bottling adding the beer when you use 100g priming sugar and 100ml boiled water to make the carbonating seclusion

A question for beaver. Can barley be mashed twice, I've heard corn can be mashed up to five times before it's thrown out. Is barley the same or is it a one time mash?

You can at least put a sugar head on it for the flavors and a ‘light’ whiskey.

You know it's gonna but all the hard work you put into a nice ale seems wasted distilling it.

Personally I would call the beer a waste of good distillate.

I've been experimenting with beers. I have had some failures, the successes I drank as beer. So what, I thought I'll just distil the failures. Clever me. I can now say with a degree of certainty, that if you distil an undrinkable beer, that you get an undrinkable result. And the smell of what's left in the still makes me puke from 20 feet away.

@@quarlow1215 I just want to qualify this. I am not using a pot still. The stuff I made was 90% + pure. I did little 100ml jars, I compressed heads and tails. Everything was awful. The technique wasn't the issue. It is like the old computer issue crap in = crap out. Horrible, horrible, putrid.

Oh definitely. I was give a beer keg with 2/3'rds full. I thought what the hell, since it didn't taste hoppy we'd run it. It came out great, very rye whiskey like. So I threw some American oak chips in it and wow. Then I got another one with a Red Racer beer ( a local micro brewery) and run about 3 quarts out of it and it was so gross I just shut it off and dumped it.
