Does a Steering Stabilizer Bar Dodge Ram 2ndgen 1500/2500/3500 1994-2002 REALLY WORK?? (and some maintenance)
The Dodge ram 2nd gen is really known for their sloppy steering! I bought a steering stabilizer bar of Ebay and it has some positives and negatives!
Vacation is coming up so time for some maintenance as well!
As many of you know we still have a full time job next to Absolute Rebuilds. Next to that we want to keep our videos interesting with these huge builds, so we changed our upload frequency to every Thursday!

The reason you're feeling bumps in the steering wheel now is because your Steering Damper AKA Steering Shock is no good. Before slop in your Pittman arm was absorbing the energy. Now that you fixed it the shock from bumps is going right to the steering wheel.

The new stiffer stabilizer links you installed are probably what you’re feeling.

The wondering when you hit a bump is the steering stabilizer shock they make dual stabilizer kit wich fixes that wondering

When you go to grease your bushings make sure you push in on the grease gun line and hold it while you pump grease into it all your grease went out the side of the fitting not in the bushing

There are torque specs on all those parts. After replacing them, make sure you torque them to the correct specs. Otherwise you can lost parts when going down the road.

Did you put the stabilizer link bushings on backwards in the one picture they are on backwards on the link? Over tightened for sure! Also there is a torque spec for the the pitman arm to shaft nut. I believe it’s 185 foot pounds. No way you got it that tight the way you were doing it. I would pull it apart and retorque. Actually take it to a shop and have them redo the whole job. You just should not be working on autos.
