Does Anybody Remember Powerless? 

I loved the show. Vanessa Hudgens was amazing as Emily lock. NBC never gave the show a chance to perform well since they placed the show at the same time slot as the big bang theory on CBS.

It was a fun show. They were at least trying to do something a little different from the average superhero entertainments, but I think it was just taken off the air before it really could find it's stride. It needed a few more episodes for the writers to really work the wrinkles out of the details like characterization and a general direction to take the series.

it's 2020 and I love the show!

I think its great and the idea is great. It was never going to last on NBC though. The obvious move was CW, it would have lasted longer.

I miss this show

I was devastated when the last few episodes listed weren't aired. Fun show.

I actually loved this show. And was not happy when it got canceled.

I can't say I "remember Powerless" because I'd never even heard of it until very recently, after it's been off the air for years. It's exactly my kind of show and I would have *loved* to watch it... if I'd *known* about it. If it flopped, I'm inclined to think it was a failure of marketing rather than necessarily there any problem with the show itself.

I didn't mind it could of gotten way better

I just started watching this show in 2023.... And I'm mad because I like it a lot, and I don't see season 2 or anything ..... Ugh CW needs to bring it back

The theme opening should have been longer

Great review. Love the details. Also love the show and don't agree with the criticism. But still a great review. I just discovered Alan Tudyk through Resident Alien. :)

The point is not the superheroes & villains. They're just the background, the weather. So who cares if they're accurate.

to your point about the show never really leaving the workplace, i do remember it being advertised as a workplace comedy. given more time to find its footing, I'm sure it would've branched outward. like in Community, i believe the entire first season never leaves the Greendale campus - then the first thing you see in Season 2 is each of the Greendale 7 in their home, getting out of bed. Dan Harmon talked in the DVD commentary about the show growing outward during season 2 & showing more of their personal lives as the characters grew to care more about each other. I wish this show had been given a similar chance, but ah well. the one joke that still makes me laugh is that all the Atlanteans are weirdly obsessed with Brendan Fraser movies.

POWERLESS deserves to be remembered as a One Season Wonder. Just like FIREFLY. 👍

Later anime Harley Queen Ron Fuches is King Shark! And Alan is Joker and Clayface. All are great! He gives a Brendan Fraiser easter egg hinting at Doom Patrol where Tudyk plays Mr Nobody. He slays! I was instantly hooked

(Green Fury - Fire). I'm not familiar, but I'm nonetheless going to say her name was probably changed back because "Fire" is an absolutely *terrible* name for a superhero. One word, one syllable, common word, multiple meanings and definitions in several contexts. A superhero name should immediately call to mind the superhero, not 7 other possible meanings.

You can't remember something you never even heard of...

I remember watching the series, and it could’ve been better.

This show actually had potential and even had some good episodes in there but the execution was so uneven. Even worse, NBC barely advertised the show, kept moving it around timeslots and airdates and cancelled it halfway through its' run. What's even sadder is that Marvel was attempting to make a show with the same concept with Damage Control but unlike Powerless, which took place in A DC universe but not the Arrowverse, let alone the DCEU, this show would take place in the MCU. But that AND The New Warriors stopped production because of Marvel Television closing down and getting absorbed into Marvel Studios while making their own shows. I still like the Disney+ shows but those shows would have put the MCU in new territory in ways WandaVision did. Who knows? Maybe they'll repurpose them in Phase 6 or 7. At least Arrow somewhat referenced Powerless in its series finale. If you look closely in one scene, there's a sign that says Van Wayne Industries. Maybe the show IS ALSO part of Earth Prime now? There's another show I watched that came out before Powerless that was also a sitcom that got cancelled way too soon about regular people working to save other people and even superheroes themselves. It was called Mighty Med! This was what Powerless could've been if they reached their full potential: it was consistently hilarious, had great world-building, great characters who had lives beyond the workplace, they made up their own superheroes instead of using established superheroes since it WAS a parody and had a better balance of serious moments. I don't care if it's a Disney sitcom, I would recommend anyone at any age to watch it on Disney Plus! From what I remembered about Powerless, I only laughed (or maybe lightly chuckled) at ONE joke. It was the one about the Atlantians and tuna.

Too bad the show was cancelled before it got to really find its ground.

It was a wonderful show filled with DC Comics Easter eggs.

I was really getting into this show when it was axed

I actually really enjoyed this show. They never aired the last 2 episodes but once it was able to be streamed, I saw it. Everyone I know hated it but idk, I liked it. I guess im a weirdo. In fact I'm gonna go watch no consequence day again right now because that was a good one. ... ps: I even loved the opening theme music.

wow i've only watched the 1st half of the pilot but i already think the unaired pilot was better, and they should've stuck with it like that. making her the new person not loving it, and then making her boss/mentor who inspired her and died from superheroes fighting just become her dad kinda disappointing. I like that they changed the new boss to bruce Wayne's cousin thats about it.

It was a nice idea just poorly executed Still, i love the concept, we never saw how ordinary people were affected by super shinanegand until that show

If you wanted to make trouble you could argue they never actually said if Crimson Fox was twins switching or not. The rest of the changes I agree don't really add much. And Crimson Fox doesn't even have the same powers. Given she is hardly a name that would get people to watch think they could have come up with someone from the comics closer to what she was portrayed as in the show.

You'd probably love My Hero. The British sitcom

Heard of the show, but never watched it because it was on opposite The Big Bang Theory. Just started watching it on the CW Seed app. Fun show. Should have been on The CW. 12 episodes wasn't enough to expand on.

the answer is yes I do. even though I hated the female lead everybody else was perfect. I even had hopes it might continue. (hopefully with a different lead actor.)

the point of that sexy ad episode is that people are easily triggered. see like our comic/game culture, we don't just oversexualize females, we oversexualize -EVERYONE- *EVERYTHING*.

Such a waste! The premise was great as well as most characters. The writing, other tha the non aired pilot, was lousy.
