News broke on Sunday evening that DJ Wagner is headed to Fayetteville, Arkansas to join Coach John Calipari and his Kentucky teammates Zvonimir Ivisic and Adou Thiero (plus the incoming freshmen of Boogie Fland, Karter Knox, and Billy Richmond. Will Wagner give the Hogs the point guard skill set they need? Perhaps, but the Hogs should target one with one of their five remaining scholarships.
Chaz Lanier, last season’s most efficient scorer per Synergy, has committed to Tennessee over Kentucky and BYU. The move further elevates Rick Barnes team and gives them a dynamic scorer, similar to what they had last year with Dalton Knecht.

Wagner was the starter at Kentucky before his ankle injury. Give the guy time to heal up and he’ll show you What he can do

Wagner will start imo and do great. He just got put in a bad spot last season along with the ankle injury. He shot over 40% from 3 before the injury. All he needs is to get stronger so he can finish around the rim and not get pushed around like last season. Also when you have Reeves, Shepherd, and Rob D. who played well beyond expectations kinda over exaggerated the situation. He’s probably a 14 points, 4/5 assists per game guy with a steal per game. He’s capable of dropping 30 when he’s on! Kentucky fan here.

Does ark have their PG?? U best believe it. The reason UK under performer is cause Cal was under pressure to play sheppard & dillingham....when wagner was the starting PG for most of the season. He wins games. Plus he can take anyone off the dribble, making him perfect for Cals dribble drive offense. Boogy fland has talent but isnt physically ready to be a starter in the SEC 150lbs is going to get bullied and playing PG thats going to cause alot of turn overs. Wagner is really underated & is a winner even if its not pretty of filling up the stat sheet. Also***adou thiero is a stud, if his jumper improves to ave or slightly above he will be a lottery pick. He is a great player. Plays hard and at uk he had to play the 4 when hes a SF now...but came to uk as a PG and played so that adds to his versatility.
