Corporations are good at making consumers feel guilty. 10 Companies produce more than half the world's emissions so none of us here should feel guilty about running saws, our impact is miniscule.

I use it, not for more power, but for better storage abilities... I found on the documentation that it is a 1/50 mix, I myself mix in a little bit of extra 2 stroke oil, regards Wim

Yep, 91 octane "EF" up here in PA is what lot of us run. I mix mine 40:1 w Amsoil Dominator

It doesnt add power but its less toxic for the user, it can be stored for years and wont gum up your carb. I like it but I dont burn alot of fuel, so the cost isnt a big deal.

In Europe it is extremely difficult to purchase ethanol free fuel. In their wisdom the law is E5 or E10 only at the pumps. I personally use Aspen 4 and mix 40:1 with my choice of oil. For pros running saws etc for a living then running E5 mixed all day is usually not a problem but for intermediate/homeowner users then the Aspen route is probably a better option as machines will be stored for weeks,months between runs and the fuel lines etc won't degrade as we know they can. Yes it is a little pricey,but what price is a dealer rebuild ? There are many Alklyate fuels available such as Husqvarna XP Power2,Gulf Pro Fuel,Sunoco shelf fuel etc etc One guarantee is the 50:1 mix will be spot on,taking out user error, if that is your preferred ratio

You can always remove it from the fuel using water.. it's real easy

Local Stihl dealer started stocking it this year. I do believe the actual fuel used in Aspen 2 is superior even to our traditional "canned" fuels atleast as far as stability and engine cleanliness are concerned. However I'm not comfortable with 50:1 and don't want to add a different type of 2t oil that may clash with their add pack. If Aspen 4 was available to me locally I'd gladly buy it and mix with my preferred oil, as that's what I currently do with VP 4-cycle fuel for the majority of my saws that see little use. Richard Flagg has said he'll add the Aspen 2 fuel to his oil testing. If it appears to leave a better film of oil than hp ultra, I'll likely switch to it, atleast for my seldom worked hard saws & various 2t engines. Yes, I mix with E-free pump gas if I'm going to be using more than a couple gallons in a week.

Just buy stihls 4 stroke canned fuel, aspen makes the motomix and 4 stroke stihl canned gas.
@aaronpowell4885
@aaronpowell4885 10 месяцев назад
@@christopherlehman4045 I agree and I would if it were available locally. Same dealer also stocks motomix but not the moto 4. Says he'll only order the aspen 4 or moto 4 version if he gets enough requests to justify a pallet load. Actually claims he got a load of the moto 4 a few years ago and sold less than ¼ of it in 2 years.

That’s funny lots of the dealers up here use the canned fuel mixed or not for the first run on equipment since it’s easier than having someone complain that their new equipment doesn’t start

It is an alkylate fuel. Whatever that means, that is the marketing jargon the reps use when they try to get you to order it.
@christopherlehman4045
@christopherlehman4045 10 месяцев назад
It is actually different and seems to have a lot of detergents or something in it because it sure seems to clean out slightly gummed up carbs out.

Another channel I watched tried it in a leaf blower and lost 800 rpm. Lots of saws come in her shop not running, dump out the canned fuel and fresh gas start right up. This stuff is just too expensive for me. I've never had a problem with non ethanol fuel even if it sits for months. I put this in the same category as bottled water. Who ever thought they could put something free in a bottle and sell it was a genius.
@christopherlehman4045
@christopherlehman4045 10 месяцев назад
I know who you’re talking about and she has no clue how old the fuel was in that blower. Also this is alkylate fuel so different in the first place. Where my wife works sells a ton of the premix canned gas in vp and the trufuel brands and hasn’t seen any issues. They have started to use canned gas to pre run new saws ect because some people put them on the shelf for a year or more. Lots of them are small saws bought for storm clean up.

Maybe it is the chain . It would be duller after the 1st run. Times are very close I but if you did then same test, replacing the chain after 1st run when you switch fuels the Aspen fuel may just beat the reg.gas mix.

Ill stick with premium E free and Klotz 40:1. I like the smell and it works well. My buddy used to run French fry oil in his diesel truck. The smell gets to you after a while. Lol. Cheers

I do like premix canned gas, it does make saws run smoother, plus you dont have to worry about it drawing moisture.
@williamwallace9620
@williamwallace9620 10 месяцев назад
The diaphragms in carbs gets brittle and are toast if you use the Aspen fuel and then switch back to regular pump.. so you better be willing to replace em or to run it constantly.. pure gas will find you the E0% and that's all you really need, that and a little stabilizer that's already included in most 2cycle oil and it'll be good.

Stanley dirt monkey did a test on all can fuels he lit them on plates to show how clean they burn. Aspen and mixed fuel where the top two.

40:1 not recommended in a auto tune. Husky can fuel is 95 octane. I run 100 with the bean oil. I'm not a company man.

I’ve ran 40:1 for 2 years now in my auto tune saws and have had no issues
@novicelumberjack
@novicelumberjack 10 месяцев назад
The reason 40:1 is not recommended is only because of EPA standards, NOT because it is bad for the saw. It is actually recommended by many builders (especially in Husqvarna 5 series saws) to avoid bottom end failures. Even 32:1 can be used. I always run 40:1 and would highly recommend that you do the same. Especially in Husky 5 series saws that are known to have problems with their crank bearings.
@christopherlehman4045
@christopherlehman4045 10 месяцев назад
Actually in lots of other countries husky still recommends 40:1 mix, the 50:1 is an epa thing. Also 100 octane is completely unnecessary but it’s your money.
@williamwallace9620
@williamwallace9620 10 месяцев назад
Run only 40:1 in all my autotunes, and 87 E-0 fuel is good enough, you don't need high octane in a saw, it just makes less power. Even ported and 200psi comp it's fine with no detonation, very different than a 12:1 comp V8 for example

Av gas is more Of A diesel. Hear me out planes dont run over 3000rpm. Thats where that stuff is happy. It goes lean on stuff when it turns up more than 5000 rpm. We use it in antique pulling tractors and tried it with our 450 we race on ice. Works great on tractors skips terrible on the 450. The 450 is fuel injected btw.

It is true, it just takes a much more significant amount of energy to produce a pound of meat than it does to produce a pound of vegetation. Much more nutrition and flavor in a pound of meat though.

Lots of studies show the human brain needs amino acids that are only in meat. Not hard to find. But everyone one is entitled to think and do as they wish. I’m not saying it to fight. Just want people to do more research and do what’s best for them. It’s all good 👍
