Does Autism "Go Away?" 

If my autism would go away I'd be sad, sure it makes a bit of my life hard but it makes my singing, acting, arts computer knowledge better.

Autism goes away as offen as people born blind can see, it’s for ever, you just learn life skills to cope🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 if people say they ‘recovered’ from autism, happy for your change, it just ment you never had autism 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Many people with autism are creative, smart, happy, and good at designing new products such as the personal computers. Why would we want this to go away.

Autism never goes away or get better - some autistic people are able to mask their symptoms, but this takes it toll in the person's body - how would you feel to spend your whole life trying to pretend to be someone else, just to please other people.

I have an 11 years old boy.. He was non verbal for several years.. He speaks now, doesn steam, flap or rock back and fwd.. You can have small conversations with him overall he behaves very well.. my issue is that his mom had him most of the time. she took him out of the school for "home schooling" because she was scared of the bullies but now he doesn't have contact with anyone he doesn't have any type of therapy's anymore.. She says school make him feel bored and frustrated because he already knows what they are going to teach etc. And I know that if he had been taking therapy and socializing with other childrens he would be way more better than what he already is..

I have this. I sometimes cry cuz I feel like giving up. It’s not what u think.. i think I’m more on the anxiety and OCD side… true, i do get involved in clubs and stuff in school, but sometimes i don’t feel included and start to get antisocial in school, which is why I can be a nervous kid, self conscious, shy, quiet, but this is who I am, and part of a downside

I loved this!! I have family and friends that do not believe my daughter has ASD & ADHD, so they tell me that she will outgrow it or get over it. It’s infuriating to me!!! I’m not sure why people think being ASD is a problem anyway?? Geez!!

Stemming in autism helps the nervous system to self regulate - why would you want someone to stop doing this and get poorly, overwhelmed by sensory overload and have a meltdown instead?

Noise cancelling headphones could help, stimming is okay, autism is okay, they are over stimulated which is what causes running away and such. If it's not hurting themself it's okay. Also, it's called masking and it's extremely tasking on the brain...it's not about improving it's fake (they are just trying to fit into an NT society that hate out of norm things) start talking to your kids and asking what is bothering and how you can reduce. Showers, tags, clothing, glasses, noises, lights, smells, temperature, and so much more can cause over stimulation.

For me being a High Functioning Aspie it is more of adapting. With Church during Worship and when I am at place for Example like a ComicCon I have to have my headphones, for someone that is a not on the Spectrum I can describe is for me My brain will try to process every noise and every conversation going on in the whole room at once and the brain not able to filter out the junk sound waves so I use Headphones to use the Speaker diaphragm to reduce the noise and make one sound wave also what I experienced at Anaheim ComicCon when I was not talking or focusing my hearing was in a way boosting like when you don't talk in a mic on a Cellphone and the Cellphone will boost the Mic Gain . The stims as getting older I think can manifest in different ways for example like mechanical keyboard click so on my gaming rig I have a old IBM Model M keyboard on my laptop I have to use Opera GX to add mechanical keyboard sounds to the browser I have the one made to sound like a Fallout Terminal and my main stim is the leg Bounce but I do rock back and forth once in a while but I use my computer chair to do that. Even at the age 37 I still have sensitivity to loud Sound, some Taste like I can taste the difference in Milks because of the feed I am guess they give the cows and processing, some textures, and Some Smell.

It doesn't go away but with proper therapies it helps with the ticks and it helps autistic children and young adults communicate better. Also find out what they love and have them engage daily that helped my daughter.

I didn't grow out of autism, I just learned to hide it. At work, the first thing I'd do is make sure the chair I sat it would rock. If it didn't, I'd change chairs. That's how I'd get through meetings and my day. Tags in shirts are scratchy.

I’m just going to say no it doesn’t. But you can work on symptoms. I’m 50. It’s still there ten fold. But I started lyrica ( an anti convulsant) and it’s helping with some things. Night sweats my whole life, gone. Restless leg syndrome gone. Digestive issues getting better. One of my arms swings now!!!! Some other stuff too. When I do my B12 injections my stimming reduces greatly and so does my gait. Stimming is flushing cortisol out of the body. Meltdowns crying specifically flushes cortisol out of the body. Autism runs high cortisol. Autism is a neuro/physiological brain disorder. NOT A PSYCOLOGICAL DISORDER!!!’ Please don’t stop the hand flapping. It the body protecting the heart and fighting the cortisol.

I was wondering what makes autistic people happy? I have yet to see a lot of videos about that. What's it like for an autistic person when they have a good time, a joyful moment, or just does something fun? Also what does it take to make them comfortable, relaxed and at peace?

My friend didn't even know i had autism for 3 yrs

My next door neighbor's son acted exactly like this. His stepfather terribly verbally abused him. His stepfather left to work offshore and for three months. It was amazing that this young man acted totally normal and his hair grew back. Amazing that the symptoms stopped. As soon as he heard his father was returning , he immediately began acting autistic again. So, with this being said, is there such as a thing as environmental autism whereas an outside source could have caused his problem , and if that source is removed then the child returns to normal?

My grandson was diagnosed with autism and I really need help his non verbal

Hi there, I have a son who has Asperger’s syndrome. He was diagnosed with autisim age 5. I searched high and low and did everything including ABA , dietary changes and supplements. Yes we made progress but not we are going for stem cell threapy. We decided to have this procedure with stem cell institute in Panama established by Dr Neil Roodian. It’s not a cure but sure helps with managing the symptoms. I suggest anyone to check it out. Thanks

So you know that your one son Alistair so guess what so there's this one's therapist in England that asked some of his patients why he did that it's because they're trying to get these terrible thoughts out of their head so they want to physically do it when the truth it's almost internal not external bye

We don't take him out at all his 4 yrs old he bangs and throw things
