Nowadays everyone has a RU-vid channel and wants to become the next big face of RU-vid gaming or at least make a comfortable living. The question is, does content creation ruin gaming for creators making videos? #gaming

Your so right. I'm a game tester for Microsoft. And some Sony games too. I've been doing it for over 14 years. Trying to make a YT video for people on games is fun ,but the things I see in games most people don't care about or understand what happens behind the scene with devs. Finding a niche can be a challenge for sure. But my most viewed videos are all the ones I just wing it lmao. Thank God I don't do this for money just for the love of games. . Good video my man. Keep them coming.

Truer words have never been spoken. I started streaming when Starfield came out, thinking I'd get hundreds of live viewers because I got early access with the premium edition. I started making RU-vid videos at the end of last year, and it has completely changed the way I play games and my day-to-day life. I record a game on Saturday, spend the entire week editing the video, and then I upload it to RU-vid. Rinse and repeat. Some videos do well, some don't. When I record a stream for RU-vid, there's always pressure to do something that can be turned into a video. Exploring locations in Fallout 4 is fun, but nobody will watch me digging through dirt for 3 hours in Fallout. Now, on Sundays, I play Minecraft; I still stream it but I don't record it. I can truly just kick back and play a game without feeling the need to be entertaining. Haha, I guess in that case, people on Twitch do want to see me dig through dirt for 3 hours. Content creation is hard work. Anyone can download OBS and upload 4-hour VODs to RU-vid. But few take the time to edit their sessions, and even fewer do it so that the result is appealing to viewers. Most of my subscribers so far came from RU-vid Shorts. I cut up my videos into 15-30 second clips, and those do incredibly well sometimes. In total, I do the following things: • Prepare for a stream by setting up my soundboard and other equipment • Stream a game for 3 hours on Twitch • Meticulously edit the video • Make a thumbnail in Photoshop • Cut it up into clips • Advertise the video on social media • Interact with comments • Trim and upload the VODs to a separate channel • Look for the next game to play That is a lot of work, especially when one tries to keep up with a weekly schedule. But I think these steps are necessary to gain traction and have an actual channel that has actual content on it rather than a dumping ground for VODs.

So funny, I started because I absolutely loved digging through dirt on skyrim and been grinding at it ever since. But at certain points streaming took precedent other times edited content was priority. Now after many experimental games, trying to get buddies involved, and more trials. I'm going back to my simplified roots of Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Starfield. With an added focus in ESO & FO76 For the competitive side of things. I love survival games and did a Son's of The Forest play with my buddy but recently I wanna add one to my permanent list. And chose minecraft since it never "ends" worlds are always different, and it's one of the top 10.

@@GourmGames That's a good list of games! Pretty much aligns with the games that I like, too. I'm trying to populate my channel with all the games that I play. So, I have a bit of Fallout here, some BeamNG there, and the other day I played Lego Star Wars xD it might not help having such a broad spectrum of games, but I'd like to think that at some point people will watch me because of ME and not because of the games that I play. Like CallMeKevin :D

One weird thing I’ve found since starting actually creating/ posting to my channel is that I have less motivation to game

See I started gaming content to share skyrim builds. Learned its more complicated than that Growth wise. Experimented and deviated with new styles and games. Now I'm trying to return to my roots that helped the motivation end for me

@@GourmGames thank you for the advice, I have a question if you don’t mind, have you ever had a steep fall off of views/ reach? It’s happening to me now and I have no idea what to do 😂 thank you if you reply

Feel free to ask anything anytime I love talking content! Yes I've experienced it, best honest advice is don't take it personal and remember there are so many creators. Not every video will be a hitter even if youre on a good streak. Sometimes people just aren't watching.

Let's say it was out of 10viewers, every Saturday you get 10viewers well this next Saturday x y & z have dentist appointments and plans for the weekend and just started binging a show. That just got you down to 7. Sometimes people just aren't watching

@@GourmGames thanks dude I really appreciate it! It’s just so weird when I look at the analytics and in theory it should bang but only has 4 reach and 3 views 😂 oh well but so good to see that there are some genuinely nice RU-vidrs out here 🫡
