I own this exact watch and love it. These watches are indestructible. I wear mine on a bracelet and it is a tank; not a scratch or a scuff. Thanks for the review.
I’ve really wanted to get a damasko because of the scratch resistance. I’m a heavy equipment mechanic and I’ve been wearing islanders because I don’t mind scratching them up and they are decently durable, at least the divers are. But I would really like to see if this case on the damasko would hold up to what I put watches through without looking like it was put in a blender. I will definitely stay away from the chrono but maybe just a regular 3 hand damasko will hold up.
I am pretty tough on my watches and my Damasko (this exact watch) still looks brand new after two years… not even a scuff on the bracelet. I abhor scratches, which is why I started wearing German watches.
I do not have the patience also. They both use the C1 for everything. Which is disappointing considering how much real-estate they have in the application areas they use it in. If the used C3 then most of their watches would be torches. But like I mentioned in the video I am glad they use C1 for the whole dial.
I wonder what kind of finish work they do on them. I can tell you this one was a very basic off the shelf 7750 like this www.startimesupply.com/product/ETA7750-BS-TOP.html I love lumed dials.
Jesus I’ve literally just bought a Damasko DA46 for £1,350 (it’s a lot of money to me) now scared that I’ll get a terrible service down the line after hearing the stories on here 😱
Please do not let my review sour your new watch purchase. They make really great watches. Was this customer experience a one-off issue? I have heard of a few issues like this in the past from the brand. But in all honesty if this only happens 1 of 200 watches is it really an issue? I am not sure really. I do believe that in this case they did not fulfill the warranty for the customer. Hopefully they learned from this particular case?? Maybe not since they pretty washed their hands of it. I am not in the know with them. I am an outside party. If anything I do believe watchmakers are people, sometimes they make mistakes, sometimes they need to know when to call in someone as a third set of eyes to figure things out. Hopefully this watch was just a bump in the road for them and they are continually trying to improve.
ToxicNATOs well I suppose it won’t need servicing for at least 5 years so hopefully by then they will have raised their customer service standards 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Nice watch. I really want to get one of these Damaskos, but the UK company, Page and Cooper, who, incidentally have really promoted Damasko over the years, had to sever ties, because Damasko were so awful.......such a pity!!!
robert bishop I would avoid Page and Cooper. I ordered and paid for a watch box from them over eight months ago. I still have not received my item. Now they are not even responding to my emails !
I would almost guarantee that watch didnt get sent back to Damasko, do you honestly think a watch maker not an Damasko specialist is going to find the issue at the first asking or did the retailer BS the client! Think about it..
Douglas the watch owner is a good friend of mine. And he did send it directly to Damasko multiple times with no resolution. The retailer who sold him the watch stepped in and paid for a full service of the watch, even though it was still under warranty. It still came back not fixed. No B.S. involved, just facts. Thanks for your reply.
@@utewatchco1468 its strange and disappointing to know Damaskos service is like that? Did it go back to Damasko (Germany) they're usually very thorough?
@@douglaspuglas6888 Yes it did. Every time it went back it went directly to them. I think the customer even called them and things still did not go well. It was really surprising. I am not sure if this is the norm for them by any means. If anything I hope it was a fluke. I do believe the customer gave them more than enough time to figure it out though. If anything he was super patient with them. I do have to say I personally like their watches and their designs.
$2,000.00 for a watch that doesn't work. Yeah, that's disheartening. .02 on a 0-100 customer satisfaction scale, yeah disappointing. and you still like this thing???
