You know I can see the reason why you got a flat tire. If you don't run more than 10 pounds of air in it, most people say that you need to run the desired pressure that it says on the tire or close to it. Because even though you're getting a more comfortable ride, you can get a tub pinch or it's easier to get a puncture if you don't have the tire at the right pressure. And I'm sure that tire requires more than 10 pounds.
@whatskevindoing
@whatskevindoing Год назад
I think you are right. I have since inflated it to the recommended pressure. Thanks for watching.
@NotSoFast71
@NotSoFast71 6 месяцев назад
Low air pressure also ruins your range on an ebike and makes it a lot harder to pedal on normal ones. Aside from pinch flats, if you ever do hard turning, the forces can momentarily pull the bead of the tire away from the rim and let air escape that way, too. There's actually a reason tire manufacturers put the recommended pressure on the sidewall.
@whatskevindoing
@whatskevindoing 4 месяца назад
Thanks. I have since raised the pressure to the manufacturer-suggested level. It rides much better now. @@NotSoFast71

This is how people get hurt. You think those control devices (signs, lights) are there as 'car rules' that don't apply? If you are moving, then they apply to you. I hope others that watch you decide to operate their mobile like all other moving vehicles otherwise someone is playing by rules that nobody else knows about and risk human life. Physics is consistent.

@@playerone3018nice attitude “Ken” first off cars, trucks, and busses are “Motor Vehicles,” bicycles, are NOT. Different rules, I’ll let you look them up. e-Bikes by the way are “assisted bicycles,” like powered wheelchairs, and other powered assistive devices. Not The Same Rules… Got that. Also, many states are adopting rules that crossover into MV territory. Not on the eBikes, but the several THOUSAND POUND MV with massive overkill top speed compared to anything else. This means the rules ARE DIFFERENT. Even on an eBike your startup speed at intersections can get you run over from behind. “Stop Signs” are suggestions LEGALLY in many states for BICYCLES, eBikes and pedestrians for that matter. There are a great many differences between safe riding or walking… and the multi-thousand pound sound proofed, rolling living rooms that people roll around in. Makes tire pressure more denser or once air is in tire, the feel when doing the wide pinch feel is rock solid as long as you keep within psi max. I ride thru crap and loud noises from tire running over crap and even flicking it out like a jet from back and good reasons to use fenders or mud guards ( stuff gets jetted out under tire towards your groin area). Flat out is a great safer than sorry approach of the need to avoid flats on long trips, especially avoiding fat tires for its a bit more effort to keep inner line rim when inflating.

I've used both Slime and Flat Out on two different tire sizes over the past 10+ years, with great results. Never a problem with Slime but once I used too much Flat Out and it clogged the valve so badly that my electric pump could not pump it up. I replaced the valve stem and it has been flat-free now for over two years. Works great as long as you RTFM !

Slime is fine if goat heads are the only thing you are dealing with. True story two days ago. I went out for a ride. I was just under 6 miles from home when I started getting a strange noise on the back of my bike there was a convenience store about 200 feet away so I pulled in to the convenient store, inspected my rear tire, and there was a 5/8 inch bolt head right in the middle of my tread. So I pulled it out. My tire went flat immediately. My mistake was my tire should’ve been rotated about 90° to get the bolt to the bottom before pulling it out. So I put a dollar into the air compressor, filled my tire back up to 20 pounds and proceeded to head back home. I’m using flat out with Kevlar. Great stuff slime never would’ve held it. And if I had of rotated the bolt to the bottom of the tire and let it sit for a second before I pull the bolt out, I probably could’ve save the dollar I fed the air compressor.

I recently put FlatOut in my Ebike fat tires and then just a few days ago I ran over a drywall screw. FlatOut did not seal the leak. I tried multiple times, put the puncture on the bottom and even added another 1/4 bottle into the tire and after several more tries to inflate it I had to just give it up as a lost cause. After breaking down the tire to replace the tube I expected to find that the dry wall screw had ripped the tube or made multiple punctures but all I found was one small puncture. I can only say that FlatOut did not work for me. I am still unsure as to why it didn't but I will not ever use it again and you should think about it before you use it.
