San Francisco 49ers star receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been the subject of trade talks recently with the Cleveland Browns now being thrown into the ring. Aiyuk, who was awarded a Second-Team All-Pro selection for this past season, is a pending free agent for the Niners and there's been no short of rumblings as to whether or not he'll stay in San Fran long term. There are few teams who would pass on the opportunity to get Aiyuk, but does it make sense for the Browns to become one of his suitors?

Aiyuk for Cooper is a great trade, and money wise..... isn't the Browns paying for three starting tackles???? Ok then... next year cut one of your tackles instead of cutting a defensive player.

No dog. They are paying for one starting tacke. One on a first round contract. And one on a fourth round contract. Their tackle money is pretty similar to most teams, but the player quality is higher.

If we don't have average qb play from Watson what does it matter. I like Amari and i like aiyuk.. But Deshaun has only averaged around 180 yards per game as a brown over the last 2 years and has only average 1.1 tds per game. What's the point on giving a big contract to another player if watson can't throw the football anymore?? Should've paid Amari before juedy

Why would you pay an aging vet before the young guy especially if we’re going off your point to a guy who’s gonna waste the vet he can’t get the ball to? Kind of contradicted yourself. Jeudy fits the long term especially if we move on from Watson at any point. Again I’m just going off your logic I believe in 4 wholeheartedly

@@smercxz Amari has had 1000 plus yards in 7 of his 9 seasons in the nfl. Jerry has been in nfl for 4 years and has never had a thousand yard season. Over the last 4 years Amari averages 1100 yards, Jerry averages 760. Simply put Amari is better. Cooper is a number 1 reciever, Jerry is a number 2 reciever. Amari is considered a top 15 wr still. Juedy is maybe top 35.. stats will say lower probably, but he does have potential, but was a disappointment in denver... we hope he can be good one day... where we know cooper has proven to be great and might be a hall of famer. No contradiction either. Cooper but up great numbers with 5 qbs last year, just bc watson has been terrible. Doesn't mean Jameis will be, just like flacco last season.

So why would they pay an aging wide receiver who yes is good and produces and again let me point out in going based off your logic. Why would they pay Amari if DW4 isn’t performing? Paying Jeudy and locking him long term is the more sensible move for longevity. It’s not hard to understand. Jeudy’s numbers as of now are legit WR2 numbers with all the potential in his game and nuanced route running along with speed to become a WR1. The film shows Jeudy open a lot the ball doesn’t come his way but anyways. Cooper is clearly the better WR now no one’s arguing that so idk why youre driving that point so hard. It’s about cap and roster management. AB is the best we’ve had EVER and anyone who still questions him doesn’t know ball or has their head up their ass. With that said he’s paying for Juedy ahead of his potential market value for 1 and for 2 if he taps into that potential won’t even be a top 15 paid WR the way these contracts are going. You’re looking at the small picture and not understanding the marathon part of building a team for sustained success. Coopers problem with us isn’t about the money either it’s about the security he wants a more long term contract. We have a top roster in the lg

@@smercxz you must be a child or really young if you think andrew berry is our best GM ever. We had a gm in the 80s and early 90s that led the browns to 3 afc championships. Meanwhile berry only has 1 playoff win on his resume and that was with baker as qb and with the team dorsey put together. Anyways we are in a championship window rn that's why u go with the better wr right now. Don't over think it kid, like I said just cuz watson sucks doesn't mean winston will. You bench deshaun if he continues to be a bottom 5 qb and hope jamesis sparks the offense like flacco did

There is no way the Niners would take Cooper who's gonna be 30 and they won't give Coop a multi year contract at that age. And from the Browns perspective they've got the team built already so who do you want to part with? No way I'd give JOK away. He is one of the best cover LBs and he's one of the fastest if not the fastest LB in a NFL that is a spread the field speed game. No way I do that trade.

WRONG! This defense was #1 in yards allowed. They were #13 in points allowed. Every team that made it into the red zone walked into the end zone. The only teams that couldn't score against them had top 10 draft picks. Every other team averaged 30 points against the Browns. The new OC allows more turnovers than the Browns had last year.

Trade pick #1 and Coop (still love the guy) for Brandon....give him a 4 yr deal / $120m(50m guaranteed)....but backload the contract a bit and limit the guaranteed money to the first 3 years... say...$24m/$27m/$30m and $39m yr 4. With no guaranteed money in the last year. Browns could then cut him, trade him, or renegotiate his contract. Just random musing here....

These silly trade conversations are stupid. Trades this don't happen in the NFL. Teams and championship windows almost never trade starters for other starters. They almost always trade picks for starters. We can certainly debate why it works this way, but it's not really debatable that it does. Wr1 for wr1 doesnt happen. Wr1 for lb1 doesnt happen. Wr1 for p1 maybe. Lets not act silly folks.

I don’t see the Browns throwing down big bucks on a marginally better / younger player when they could’ve just paid Coop, who has great chemistry with this team. There’s much to be said about veteran leadership and established knowledge of the coach/ guys in the locker room. I’m guessing Amari wants a long term deal but they aren’t sure about his longevity due to the little nagging injuries he always seems to have. The flip side is why would the niners be willing to pay Cooper more for longer than the Browns would? I think that’s a losing bet for Amari. I see one year deals getting floated at him at best unless he’s willing to take a little less money per season for a longer contract. Dudes just want the bag which I get but it’s kinda sad. But don’t blow a bunch of money you need for upcoming contracts on a wr we really don’t need.

Cooper must stay… at all costs. He has an uncanny elusiveness to his style. He finds creases, gets open, and catches the ball. Say all you want about his declining speed, that is not a concern. If he doesn’t play this year and Chubb isn’t his old self - The Browns lose plenty. expect no better than 7-10.
