I did a test to make M1 Macbook Air Hot. And this is what happened... Tell me what you think in the comment! Macbook Air Model : Apple MacBook Air (M1, Late 2020), base model(7 Core GPU, 8GB RAM) - $999 USD
M1 chip has a great heat control! What do you think? Watch next: Macbook Air M1 For Virtualization - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OH3ytEFaIyk.html
Hello, i want to be an aerospace engineer. i wanna buy macbook air m1 8/256. i will use apps like CATIA, siemens nx, matlab, autocad, zoom, discord, office 365 and apps like that. i have been used an windows laptop and i hated. can you suggest me that mba? sorry for my mistakes about this comment. my English is not so good. thank you.
Great video, and I subscribed! My Air M1 starts getting warmer once I’ve got a lot of Chrome tabs open, but most of the time it feels cold. I’ve had VS Code - Exploration version 1.53.0 hang and been unable to Force Quit it, but everything else is rock solid. I think it’s marvelous, and can easily cope with developer needs within reason.
Do you feel the heat in the keyboard or mouse when you put your hand on it? in the macbook air.. i have a razer laptop it's really hot when he puts my hand in there.. thanks man,
Thanks for this valuable test ;) Most RU-vidrs do test with only 1-2 programs at the same time but it is not real life schenerio, that is the real life schenerio! While I am coding, not only Xcode or VS Code is open, Chrome(with many tabs), Spotify, sometimes even virtual machine or Docker containers are running. So the test done with a single program hasn't any mean for me, by the way, get 16GB of RAM and be safe ;)
I am a freshman computer science student now and ı want to buy a computer. Should I buy M2 air with 16 gb ram or M1 pro. I don't want to waste my money.
I live in India where it gets 45°C for 3 months and I am planning to buy M1 MacBook air. I am not a video editor so mostly my laptop will be used for streaming and learning purposes. Will the Macbook Air face any heating issues? Kindly suggest!
I used TGPro to monitor CPU temperature and while exporting 4k video I got to a max of 100 degrees Celsius. About the same I got on the MacBook Pro 16 inch I use for work. For a machine that has no fans and is exporting video at about the same speed than the MBP 16" (and costs a third) that's pretty impressive!
There's a little app called "hot" that can run in the menu line at the top of the screen and gives you a running temperature. mine is at 36C measured at the CPU.
I’d go for the 16 GB ram model. Swap usage is to high and there’s a limit with the number of times the ssd can write data, even though is a huge number, for that kind of money I’d prefer my Mac last a few more years, great video!
I have the mba m1 with 16gb and run a branding / graphic design firm and so far its been amazing. I think the extra memory really helps as it has not gotten very warm at. Using Davinci Resolve for video editing. What cracks me up is never thought id utter the phrase”Im using a mac book air to design magazines and logos. Full disclosure I ditched Adobe after almost 20 yrs and Affinity is so smooth and feels better than Adobe especially onnthe ipad.
mine literally never gets hot. it's amazing. i can never go back to any other processor b/c having a LAPtop that burns your thighs sucks. the M1 is sooooo nice
Great video 😍, I want to get Air 16gb ram for my professional software development. What you think if we use this machine for 8-9 hours daily? Will it thermal throttle?
Softwares/Apps needs a place to store things it needs to work, much like how you would on your desk/workspace. RAM/Memory is one place to store things that are ACTIVELY needed, like the buffered data on your RU-vid videos you watch, etc.. However, not all data can be squeezed in on the RAM/Memory, especially when multitasking. As a solution, Swap is used. Swap is usually just a location, a space on your regular HDD(Hard Disk Drive) or SSD(Solid State Drive) that the Operating System (OS) uses to put things that it thinks you still need but, are NOT actively using, for example your long minimized App. Why can't we just use your HDD/SSD as the RAM/Memory if that's the case then? Because RAM/Memory is much, much faster than the speed of your HDD/SSD. What's more is that, they are designed to be accessed much more frequently than with your HDDs/SSDs. Think of writing and erasing on a piece of paper versus a white board, which one will wear first? Edit: Oh, and when both your RAM/Memory and swap is almost consumed? The Operating System will start killing/shutting down Apps in order to keep some space for itself. That way, your machine is still operable. Edit 2: Operating Systems (maybe not all) can also use Swap for putting things aside for when its next wake, in case where you put your machine in to sleep mode. This is so that it can pick off where you left off. Now there may be other use cases for Swap, but these are some.

It depends on what type of software you will use. Software you will use like CATIA only works on Windows. Virtualization such as Parallels or Bootcamp are not currently supported yet. In this case you need to wait until they release the official version, or you need to buy Windows laptop if you need it right now.
I have macbook air m1, and it's been wonderful. Out of all the PC's and laptops i have owned, i will never go back to HP, asus, lenovo etc. They can all go to hell. I play games on this laptop, browse the internet, do homeworks and other things i have been doing since i was a kid, and never had a problem with this laptop. It doesn't lag, overheat, freeze or anything. The only downside is that some softwares or games aren't eligible for MacOS, but there are programs to use windows stuff. I have played games like World of Warcraft for hours till i fall asleep and neevr had problems really. I wish this laptop was a little more bigger though, because the screen isn't that big, and the keyboards are bad for video gaming, but it's doable. Idk about making videos, but adobe after effects is working ok but it's still slow preview. Never rendered a video with this laptop, but i have recorded videos, took pictures, edited them and it's been pretty fast and easy.
For the graphic performance, Macbook Pro 16" with intel is better than M1. The next M1X(or M2) might be faster than i9 but we don't know yet. I'm still pretty happy with my MBP 16" but I might change to the new MBP 16" with M2
@@c0pist thanks for the fast answer:). I’m happy with my 16 to, the 16 gets hot tho but I guess that’s normal. This is my first Mac so little nervous when it gets hot.
Im react native dev and on air I used to reboot after 5 hours and wait for 15 min so I moved to 16 inch pro a bit noisy bu works 8hours 5 days without reboot

I didn't have a chance to test it in the hot weather since I got M1 Macbook Air in the winter. Unless you use it for a heavy task(rendering 4k video etc) it should be fine in my opinion
@@c0pist No I won't be. If it is possible then can you tell me test and tell how hot will the MacBook Air get on a warm day. Don't make any videos, just let me know in the comments section. Thanks!
I dunno what's wron... I mean what's not wrong with this Air Mine somehow running Minecraft only without anyother software on the background(even spotify, safari etc.) gets to about 90C degrees and 1 core out of 8 is 105! I have made a small research on the net and some guy asked Apple directly about this overheating thing and they responed that basically it's just fine(like in that mem with dog) But anyway, I really don't know how to explain that you've got these kind of results comparing to mine...
There must be faulty models out in the market and yours could be one of them. If you can visit Apple store show them my video/different youtubers’ test video to compare to yours.

Oh yeah! 30 vids on p-hub probably hahaha!.. but great job man! m1 macbook air is still worth it for developers in my idea based from your review and better than the intel 13inch pro & air generations.
