I only say "most" just in case. The intention is that all music would be from Kevin and fall under this credit, but this is my default text and I don't want to miscredit something that I play without thinking. I will attempt to give specific credit to any non-incompetech music played after stream.

Love your analysis of Percy and Grog's core motivations and how they influence their boss fights!

The sound of the wind elemental and or the polymorph its self is interesting, because media has trained us to expect noice cues with certain things. So even if the transition its self dosnt actually make the smoke bomb magic 'poof' noise or stretching noises or whatever, you mentioned the verbal components. If whispered but still audible followed by actual wind noises it would be easier to believe as horde memeber that you literally hear the wind and thought it was voices before. And Laura rolled a 34 for acrobarics. Even if they werent stealth its fair to narrate 'Vex demonstrated such agility as to be near silent in the task as thoght showing off' for over achieveing on the roll.

"starting out a session giving your players something to react to" - omg I wish some of my GMs did that! I'll have to bring this up during feedback soon!

To solve the Kevdak's statblock problem I'd just steal some of the features that already exist in other statblocks. For example, a Hobgoblin Warlord has a shield bash attack that knocks the target prone on a failed strength save. Combined with the multiattack it's highly effective. Just throw out the superiority dice and give Kevdak an alternative melee attack that deals less damage but trips or pushes the target. That would make him seem stronger than Grog without adding a ton of moving parts for the DM to keep track of. I would also ignore the rage, just double the Kevdak's HP, give him vulnerability to Psychic, and maybe specify that he's vulnerable to all damage when incapacitated or under the effects of calm emotions.

Masks The New Generation provides magic/superpowers without resource management. The mechanics of Masks is focus on emotion, self image and personal character arcs and that is where the resource management comes into it. The powers/skill are essentially fluff. They can be affected by the feels but they aren't the focus.

I've been thinking about the pillars of play from a design standpoint and how the social and exploration could be improved. It is interesting to me that while combat is the most well established pillar many people also find combat boring in comparison to other types of play. I am wondering if by making combat balanced and solvable, DMs run the risk of making it predictable and therefore boring. Shouldn't the most established pillar be the most interesting? Since it is not, I think it is reasonable to conclude that too much balancing makes the game less interesting. I have been thinking about what we can do as DMs and game designers to counteract that effect. All that said, I can't wait for episode 52. It is one of the best ever CR episodes!

to me, time decisions by Matt feel so arbitrary. like whether Grog's inspiration given by Scanlan has run out. how is that fair when I can't trust his time choices?

I'm commenting this purely because it's a pet peeve of mine, but if one doesn't get "the tingles", it's not ASMR. ASMR is a term that's been co-opted by many people to mean a gross generalized category, and not what it actually is. I know everyone's different, but I just wanted to speak my piece. To whom it may concern: I believe that ASMR content is not something you can "perform"; ASMR is something you experience in response to stimuli. Just because you're whispering, doesn't mean you're "doing ASMR". Sorry for the rant.

I know that the term technically refers to the sensation and not the triggers, but I also think that the conflation of the two is reasonable and widespread. The alternative would be "asmr inducing performance" or something cumbersome like that, which I also don't think would really accomplish anything since the same co-opters would be just as fine using that. Beyond that, there is already a delineation between the two: ASMR, and "The Tingles". The former began to be used in a way that was different from it's original meaning (likely because it was better to shorten in for SEO purposes), so a new term was created to fill the need. I get that it's weird if you know the original meaning, but this happens all the time (basically constantly) within language, and gatekeeping on colloquial semantics isn't super cool imo. RE: performance or not, I would argue that anything a person does for an audience is a performance. I would honestly find it difficult to consider *anything* posted on Twitch, RU-vid, etc... to not be a performance, including all of the implications that come along with that.
