What is Italian or Spanish olive ? it is a cocktail of Moroccan,Tunisian,Turkish ,Syrian and sometimes Greek oil. Italians are the oldest in the business, they have the biggest brands BUT the pure italian oil is very rare and limited to Lucca/Italy. the rest they all import left and right and mix it with small percentage Italian oil et voila it is Italiano. same in Spain. look at the import statistics and it is all there in thousands of tons. biggest exporter to Italy and Spain is Tunisia. Syrian oil is smuggled to Turkey then exported or mixed with local Turkish oil. the purest in the med origins are = Morocco,Tunisia,Greece,Syria and Palestine. these are the best and purest. yes some sellers will add refined sunflower or soybean oil or at best refined pomace oil . but if you have safe source then the oils are exceptional. Patras/Greece, Aleppo/Syria, Meknes/Morocco,Sousse/Tunisia. Palestine s good(not the israeli side which is irrigated and has new engineered trees like Arbequina ) . the strong taste the dark green and bit bitter is the most healthiest .
This is what Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) is for. Papa Vince EVOO is single source. If an EVOO is not single source, all you have to do is read the label. Alot of the countries you mentioned also have old presses, that are not waterless, which is why they do not provide lab tests showing polyphenol content since polyphenols are water soluble and get washed away. There are always exceptions though!
@@PapavinceEVOO I had exceptional oil from Puglia too. but it is very limited and rare. Olive oil business in Italy has changed from farmers to corporations run by the big boys in Ostuni...if your production is all PDO then you have limited product and that is worth GOLD, Morocco has very small producers hence the chance of good quality and oil produced with Pride...At the end Sicily has the North African spirit too,at least that what I saw in the far south of Sicily . I will try your oil at 1st opportunity...keep the good work.
Thanks for sharing that information, it's very interesting! At our press, we use stainless steel equipment and burlap sacks for harvesting since our production is fully artisanal, so there’s no plastic involved. However, now that we’re more aware of concerns around phthalates, we are planning to get our olive oil tested to ensure its quality and safety.
Where is the comparison ? All i saw was an advertisement of your product.Sorry you just proven to me that the morrocan olive oil is at least as good as yours if not better.
Thanks for your comment! The video wasn't meant to compare Moroccan to Sicilian olive oil directly, but to highlight the importance of transparency and lab testing in claims like 'highest polyphenols.' Many brands make bold statements without proof. At Papa Vince, we clearly show what’s in our EVOO through lab tests, so you know exactly what you’re getting.
