I maxed a couple months ago and honestly I'm having more fun now than I ever did before maxing. It's because I log in and just do what I want, I don't need to worry about xp or anything anymore.
The big lesson to take from this is that you didn't really want/need to max to have that mindset. Do what you enjoy, it's a video game. Meant to have fun
@@bluesnshrews that makes no sense? You need to worry about xp if you want to max or just get 99s in general. You think people max by accident running around with no goal lmao?!
@@Hoppapolla oh well aware because I was exactly like this on my first account. Felt like "DW I'll get to that once I finish maxing". A year later I did. But afterwards kinda realised "why did I wait?". So many of the friends I could have raided with and such had moved on.
Best advice is to take everything he said and apply it before max too. Don't wait to play the game. Maxing is a process that takes months and years. Take it at your speed and enjoy opportunities you get. "You can always come back to it" applies to methods when you're gaining xp before 99 too. The game doesn't really change much once you're in the large final chunks of maxing (82-99 mining, 85-99 agility, 86-99 runecraft etc.) The only difference is once you max everything you do doesn't passively work on skill number go up dopamine.
Maybe I’m weird like that but I just knock out one skill and move on to the next. I’m currently on that max grind with a 2197 total level and I have to say it’s been fun. Osrs is a ‘grindy’ game I find that it helps if you have a plan after maxing. I already plan to finish questing and then pet hunt so that’s an entire grind in itself.
@@jaysmith9560 yeh you likely just have that sorta brain that prefers simplistic structure and wants to hyperfocus one thing at a time. Ive much more enjoyed skill hopping my 2nd and now 3rd accounts while maxing. And going and doing PvM when and if I feel like it instead of treating maxing like a job you can't stop
I maxed about a week ago, and I'm having so much fun filling in the collection log. So many mini-games have come out since I got 99 in certain skills, that it's great fun checking these "new" bits of content out. Like right now, I'm grinding out Shooting Stars and Giants Foundry - and Guardians of the Rift is next.
Same here. I think it's mostly people who prefer afk boring things like maxing skills and such. Quests (to have fun) involve reading stories and dialogue. Solving puzzles, beating bosses etc. They're awesome one time experiences. There's some quests that definitely suck, and some that don't offer too much. But they're the most unique content in the game and the least grindy thing about the game. Wanting them to be over and done with so you can go back to afk skilling is always a weird perspective. I **crave** new quests because they're so much fun.
I hate quests. i'd reckon atleast half the community is using wiki or plug in just to space bar through it all. It's not like anyone is figuring anything out anymore. It's just read off this page and go do what it says. Runescape's lore is so shallow and bad compared to a lot of games that IDC to read the quests.
Ehhh. Lol I don't play other MMOs so I can only say much. The only reason I do quests is due to how much content is required for it. Some quests are fun and sometimes pretty funny.
I am still new (only three months in) but I feel like you make a good point. After maxing there is collection log, pet hunting, music cape, inferno cape, mega rare drop hunting, so much. I can see how max level is just another checkpoint of progress (:
I maxed in November of 2021. I took a long break from the game, and I really needed it. When I came back, I realized that I can "play the game". I am a skiller, and going for post 99 xp in skills was kind of fun. Hunting skilling pets has been a really fun thing for me. It's all on what you love to do in game.
After i maxed (2 years ago" i started pet hunting i dont play this game all the time but i've got 20 pets atm and one of them is the dusted TOB pet so very happy so far. Nothing beats getting a pet imo.
@@seamusmcloughlin7150 PvP is dead dunno what game your playing mate. Define bank? got killed by a pker for 200k today and he said "enjoy poverty" meanwhile chilling with my 8b bank...
PvP wildy is “dead” but if you know what your doing and play a lot which it seems like you do can be fun asf doing hits an all that’s still spots for good times an loots specially in pvp with the bounty’s on these vid makers, but same goes for wildly get creative with it add if you want we can get a squad an I’ll show you lol
I really like this video cause I'm getting close to maxing I'm at 2097tl so I've actually been doing other things so I don't max to fast lol I do the same thing with attack. I hit 80m xp last night. I have 35m slayer xp. I'd like 200m slayer xp but it's so slow as u kno & I'm working on getting 2k brimstone keys also, just bc I can, It's something else to do. I have. 1421 rn so hopefully soon. Oh & yes questing sucks. I can't stand them either 😂😂 Great video gl
Interesting vid for someone like me who has no interest in maxing and probably never will. I enjoy pvm and raids so thats mostly all i do, cause i enjoy it! People forget why we play this game sometimes.
Got the quest cape first, recently lost it due to being unable to finish the TOB quest, I've only got 38 songs to unlock for the music cape and a handful of diaries to complete, haven't got any 99's yet but I'd like Farming to be my first 126k from 86 rn
I recently maxed and it’s just fun doing what you want in anyway you want to. Biggest thing for me is actually taking a bit of a break and playing a bit less. I agree there is always something you can do but so far my post max journey has been kind of boring in a way. I have been trying out new bosses which is fun but after getting like 50kc and you got mechanics down it’s gets boring again
Like others here, i maxed in 2021 (in march) and have had an absolute BLAST doing pvm finally, i essentially B-lined max so had like 100 barrows chests and not much else, embarrassingly. However, just over a year later im now 6 pvm pets deep, with a boss log thats actually quite respectable. Its a totally different game post max IF maxing was your sole goal.
i have a blast doing PVM too and i am very far from maxing. No fucking way that im spending my time maxing, fishing, agi, runecrafting, mining, thieving. fuck that shit give me big drops
I recently maxed and still feel the same motivation to pvm as usual. My goals before maxing were always to go for pets/gp/bis and boss with friends. Also, I never let maxing get in the way when my buddies wanted to tob/cox. Maxing was just a personal goal not an end all be all sorta thing. The one thing I realized from pet hunting is that if I get a spooned pet I instantly lose motivation to continue killing the boss in the future. I have a thought in the back of my mind, wishing that I went a little dry on the pet because I find the boss fun/good money. Anyone else feel the same?
Zulrah till 4555 just for pet ain’t been back got both mutagens in that grind and vork to 3500 before I got pet I made bank but I also won’t go back now even though vork is free gp
@@kelllyrobinson7693 yo any tips to make.vork less aids? Fucker hits so hard randomly. Still learning to woox walk tbh haven't gotten it down and im meleeing with bis I much prefer zulrah, whish she was still good gp.
@@foxysobek8109 once you have to walk down you will be set he hits hard randomly with range and melee I stay for 4 kills in max set up inventory always gets filled so if you can pull 4 your good and don’t stop practicing the walk you’ll have it down to animation before long also 30 stars on vulcan with smite good game sobek
I just maxed a couple nights ago. At first the next day I was kinda stuck bank standing in shock for a day that I actually maxed and am no longer worrying about skilling. But right now I am so excited to start so many different grinds that it feels like I have to much shit I wanna do lol. It’s. A great feeling and I literally can’t wait to finally play the game.
Osrs gets boring before maxing, I couldn’t play RuneScape without long breaks in between grinding the game. It doesn’t get as boring when you have the right goals in mind, but it definitely feels like I lose the urge to play sometimes, but regaining it later on
1730 total in a year and a half of on and off play. I already do a lot of the stuff you talk about like getting your quest cape, and stopping to do every clue scroll I get but I still look forward to maxing just because of all the extra utility i’ll have to learn the game mechanics more.
I started this account with the sole intention of maxing as fast as I'm able to, and when I do it's bossing time! Can't wait... (gonna be 2 years before I max tho lol)
I maxed in 2013 and the game became dead to me because my only goal was maxing, and didn't have many friends to do things with in the game. Make sure you have a goal after you max. Now playing OSRS almost 10 years later I'm planning on maxing again but this time there's raids and end-game content that wasn't there before
I did things the other way around. I completed QPC first and I'm nearly done with Achievement Cape, I have 3 tasks left. Then I'm going to work on base 90s and elite combat diary.
Liked and subbed. Your videos rock. Video Idea: Best shields in OSRS and their % chance of making certain bosses miss or the DMG/second reduction they provide. Ex: Ely, DFS, bulwark etc. I feel like we see stats but we don't know what they actually % wise do.
I think the "Now I'm maxed I can play the game" is just a mindset to keep the game simple. It lets you focus on just skills instead of PVP, PVM, Clues, Minigames, etc. I maxed on RS3 before I did half the quests, minigames, or any bosses. I regretted it. I was a maxed noob. On OSRS doing things like monkey backpacks, shooting stars, minigames and bosses have kept me interested in skilling.
i maxed on both versions of the game and the fun factor hasn't really changed much. Most of my time spent on it is just general fooling around and passing time
I've barely touched my main since I maxed it in 2016 - I guess I just felt like I'd achieved my goal and I was done. I find it incredibly difficult to get motivated to do anything on it, and can't shake the feeling that I'm wasting my time doing things that give me xp since I'm already 99. The fact that some of the newer bis items in the game like twisted bow and scythe are so ridiculously expensive also makes it a bit daunting to go grind for money to save up to them to get into the higher level content. Like, it's crazy to me that such expensive items even exist - when I made 600k laws then 1.6m nats to get 99 RC in 2014, the ~650M I made felt like a ridiculously over-the-top amount of money and it was able to fund all the expensive skills to 99. It's kind of crazy to me that there actually exists a bow that costs over 1B now, and people are even able to afford it... like wtf? Maybe one day I'll get back in to the main to try all the new content that's released since I maxed it - and get my quest and achievement diary capes back - but in the meantime I've been finding it a lot easier to find motivation to train my ironman.
Yeah Iirc. I just passed 1900ish levels and I'm afraid of maxing because of the boredom. Now I know I still have quite a but to go but it still stays in the back of my mind.
I always do whatever I feel like. I'm trying to get my first 99, probably will be agility. I am grinding a lot for now, but I'll likely do whatever I feel like after that.
I think a video on doing nothing but daily money making tasks through the day for a full day would be a cool idea. Herb runs with snape grass included, birdhouses, yanillian hop runs, coconuts, for a full day, and then collect your daily dairy rewards at the beginning of the day.
I maxed in January and struggle to do anything anymore, I login and just sit at the bank, i usually do like 10kc at a boss and just log off, i just cant get back into it
I maxed like 2-3months ago... I got really borred day after and still cant find motivation.... :( Getting a big back sugery in like 2 weeks and after i have to be in bed 8-12weeks so i hope to find the spirit agian there!
@@banvito3368 nah not really, i played raids 3 alittle but got borred quick agian so my account is still standing and collecting dust 😅 yes thanks, the back sugery went really well!
I quit 2 months after maxing, immediately rushed Inferno which I thought would be harder even with max gear and started doing CoX CMs in 2020, didn't really hold my interest.
I haven’t started yet. But I’ll probably be doing palm and magics. Gonna probably do herb runs snape grass and seaweed as well. That’s about it. It’ll take as long as it takes I guess. Lol
Being maxed ironman you still have so much to gain compared to a normal player to farm all and any activity and boss since we just cant buy all rewards and drops and it feel amazing to have even "junk" when u have farmed it urself
My goal is a max hcim with at least 50 kc in every boss and mini game, including the inferno first hc right now but might take me a few accounts to reach that goal haha
I have rc and agility leftover and will most likely try to master the inferno, theatre of blood and chambers I know it won’t be easy but I feel that’s end game material.
bro I got to 52 magic and experienced THE worst burn out. My account is Starforus and I haven't touched it in almost 3 years except to dick around and go fashionscaping at the GE
i feel like the game isn't fully enjoyable until max, you can pet hunt, finished diaries, farm raids and new raids to get early drop for crazy profit, you can finish collection log, work on combat achievements.. SO much content post maxing IMO, building my bank and getting all dream gear and just having fun is what im excited for. i have 70 levels till max and i cannot wait! also great video!
Been 2200 total for a few years now. Now sitting at 2276 and cant dedicate the effort to mining another 1.2m xp. Gonna just passively dark relic it from cox
Why are you acting like Maxing has gatekeeped you from doing alll these pvm goals and activities, its such a made up mentality and by no means should anyone tell themsleves they need to max before doing the things in game that are fun for you. Its such an unhealthy mindset
Some people are different. I’m very goal driven. I don’t like to start new projects or goals until I finish the one I’m currently working on. I feel like it distracts me from my current endeavor.
I maxed and burnt out maybe 3 months after so I would say yes but the game was going in a direction I didn't like anyway so thats probably the reason why I don't play anymore.
After maxing? The 6 months of runecrafting, 4 months of mining, 4 months of fishing, 4 months of woodcutting is boring af lmao, being able to enjoy the game after maxing is not boring at all haha.
After maxing , 1 thing changed for me .I never welcomed another PvM game update. When you still miss Tbow,Scythe,Sang,Blade of Saeldor and inquisitor's mace , the last thing you need is Jaggex to devalue your already existing bank and best in slot items . TLDR after maxing , you can set your own goals , 200mill in some skills , fisnish your BiS collection , have fun . But for me that's impossible to happen when jagex adds stuff like Nex and Raids 3 ...
@@mykelmellen2378 ah I see you don't know lore and think everyone should ignore it lol. Space barring quests is making enjoyable content mind numbing. May as well not play lel
I quit shortly after maxing. There's just nothing that holds my interest like actually gaining xp towards towards the ultimate visible symbol of progression that levels are.
