Good to see the Marucci cat lineup is still blowing out people’s eardrums. I specifically remember the Cat7 and whether it was the BBCOR or USSSA version, the thing was LOUD.
Sitting in my house the other night in Torrance, California and I kept hearing this loud ringing sound..... It was a Marucci bat belting out tanks several hundred miles away
Will this channel is my go-to when my wife is out on a date with her coworker. Her current boyfriend is in the market for a few USSSA's so I'm doing some market research to help out. Cheers
@@meganbun2722 @ 7, get any old CAT, BEAST X, S3, XL3, VELO, SOLO, OMAHA, CF, 918, META...All < $100. I have some cheap! Hit w wood in the cages. *The bat WILL NOT make the hitter*. Sorry.
You should test all composite bats at those price differences if you haven’t already. (even if it’s $50 gaps or less options, I’m unsure if the market). it’s really clear there’s no reason to buy an alloy bat for U-Trip. So test the comps! That’d be sweet
Bro my ear drums about blew out just from the sound of that bat from the speakers on my phone. Lol that is insane! I could not imagine what that thing sounds like in person.
THE FREAKING VEXXUM 😂 I played on traveling team that was actually our teams rival, and they used nothing but the Vexxum, the Triton, and the Nike bat. They were actually not a great team, but I fell in love with the Triton while I was there, and actually ended up buying one to use alongside my CF4. I couldn't ever decide which one I liked more
I bought 2025 icon for my son. It took some convincing to get him away from the hype fire but since he constantly watched this channel and seen the comparison video of the hype fire, 2025 icon and soldier tank he was sold on the icon.
My son batted .500 in 9U travel with the Cat X9 drop 10. Basically a single machine. Only 2 doubles and a grand slam in 34 games. You sold me on the Icon and I got a Cat X2. 10U fall ball about to start, we’ll see how it goes.
I think a good video idea would be hype fire vs the green zen, I think it’s obvious the hype fire is hotter but I think it would just really put into perspective how crazy hot the bat truly is as most people still think of the green zen as the goat
Like to see a 1-piece -5 showdown: StringKing Metal @ $99 Marucci Code @ $149 Victus Vibe/Pencil @ $199 Louisville Atlas @ $249 Marucci Cat X2 @ $299 With a used bat like the Demarini @ $60 thrown in to see how much you "lose" going used. Side idea, a vid with used 2-piece vs new 1-piece to see what the actual performance dropoff is. JustBats has a variety of used in the same price range as new 1-piece and my 11u son's still always had good pop on someone else's "last season's" bat.
Back in the day, I bought my son a CAT7 USSSA and he used it for 3 summers. Basically cost me $60 per summer. None of the bats work if your swing is trash.
Do you think composite bats make a difference in USSSA for 7-8 year olds? I'm sure some of the larger kids but a normal sized kid. My sons alloy bats seem to have more pop then his hype fire. Idk what it is about it. Maybe the alloy just fits his swing better.
I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, mock me if you must, can someone tell me what the difference between BBCOR and USSSA? I play lots of slo pitch, and USSSA is the standard for slo pitch bats. Which ones are they using in High School? Which ones are they using in College?
Question to anyone in baseball, I want to practice my swing in my backyard, what is the best way to do this by myself, what kind of products are available and what works best
Hey will I have a quick question. If durability does not matter to me and I’m just looking for a stupid hot -5 should I get the hype fire or something else
I just attended the Cooperstown Dream Park's last tournament for the summer and the bats are stupid and the fields are stupid. The amount of inflated home runs and scores were insane. The fields say they are 200....I measured several...they are in fact 186. This bs about the wall height is stupid. They told us "Cooperstown Dreams Park does not want high scores! We do not want blow outs! We want baseball!" which is the total opposite of what anyone gets when playing there. High scoring games all the time, too many kids getting drilled by way too hot line drives or ground balls and then stupid swings where they flick the bat while falling over and it goes out by a solid 30+ feet. The composite bats are stupid. Give majority of those kids a real bat and they will have a hard time fighting through the zone.
You should bring back some younger kids and have a comparison of a brand new composite vs purchasing a used and broken in composite. My 12U is a huge fan of the Combat B2 one piece composite!
Hi , I'm English , I have liked baseball for some time now , but am confused as to which type of bats are allowed to be used , as I thought in the MLB wooden bats had to be used , so some other leagues you can use alloy bats , is that right ?
The Bat bros described the new Tank as an “even better Cat x”. However, the tank does have some glaring durability issues with the end cap (it does have a warranty though)
I still wonder how the CATX2 is so popular. Its expensive for a one piece and not overly hot. Plus the ring in your ears after you hit it. Id have to pass on it or pay the extra $50 for the connect.
I don’t know why my kid hits better with one piece alloys over the composites. Is it swing weight? Balance the hell is the difference between the alloy and composite?????
My kid plays 8U travel, lots of USSSA tournaments. Everyone crushing the ball. Icons and hype fires everywhere. This summer he played All Stars, you have to use USA bat. The kids were like what the hell is going on? My kid hit one home run in one game - literally the only home run we saw the entire all star season and this team went to the SoCal super regional final and won three tournaments before that.
Funny you say that, he’s playing in a woodbat tournament tomorrow. They were practicing with wood bats earlier this week and most kids could barely get it to the outfield.
Debating on getting a voodoo 2022 atlas 2 piece goods or select pwr I go to a 3A school and trying to start JV as a freshmen I rarely strikeout but I don’t have much pop
Hi Will, quick question: I know you’ve said that the Stinger Missle S is heavier than the Missile 2, but how do the Missile S and Missile 2 compare to the Missile 3 in terms of swing weight? (Ok maybe it wasn’t that quick)
What is the swing weight of the Icon compared to the Hype Fire. Son is swinging the drop 8 HF but wants an Icon and I’m wondering if a drop 5 Icon might work better than the drop 8 Icon.
I have a 30/-8 fire and a 30/-8 icon. Icon swings lighter than the fire in -8. In -8 I like the icon better. I also have a 30/-5 fire and it is not that heavy…not much heavier than the 30/-8 fire. My 9 year old used it in a 10U majors tourney and got it around just fine. The -5 icons I’ve swung seem about the same swing weight as the -5 fires. The -5 fire is insane. Both my 8 and 10 year old seem to like it more than their other bats, including the tank and icon fwiw. But in -8 they generally prefer the icon. If you’re going with a -5, get a fire… but just know it’s got a very limited life. It’s the hottest bat ever made from what I can tell, and will seems to say that as well. The tank and the icon aren’t far behind, but as someone who really dislikes our 30/-8 fire and raved about the 30/-8 icon, I favor the -5 fire over every other bat. I like the grip and taper on the icon better though. If he wants a -8, stick with the icon. If you want to go -5, get a fire imo
I need a gangster wood bat. Ive bought a few now. Im 6’1 35 yrs old i’m just getting back into baseball now after a long, long time so I’ve been out the game.
USA bats would accomplish the same thing. Kids that age aren't strong enough. PG incorporated USA bats....for a hot minute until they realized how much business they were losing. $$$$
I’m a nervous wreck having my 10 yr old son move up to pitch in the USSSA world. And I played in the Gorilla ball era! Z2K and Redlines. It’s different when you are watching line drives lasered back at them when you know the USA bats can greatly reduce the chance of injury or worse! Still have the Z2K by the way
@@mattrinck7503 avg 8 to 12 yos won't see the same performance or performance gap. There is an outlier here and there, but those kids are dangerous w any bat.
I had a drop 3 white and orange vexxum when I first graduated to the big field. I swear to god that bat was dead on arrival. Didn't help that I was about 95 pounds and could barely swing the bat.
