Hijacking to point out that race does matter if you ever get into buildcrafting. To the same extent as picking out armor sets It's a little less important than a full 5 piece set of armor Khajiit for example gives 90 recovery to all stats, which is worth ~1.5 non-5th piece set bonus; then adds 900 to all attributes, which is worth 2 non-5th piece set bonuses; finally it adds 12% crit dmg/healing which is a little bit better than equivalent 5 piece set bonuses

Both probably. It's an mmo. Gear and race do matter somewhat with some builds. But over all, it's minor.

@@rugdoc97 I was dueling in the cities with people 5x my level. People that were above 100. Mind you I could barely do my own damage because I was weak but my defense kept me alive enough to chip them away slowly

@@ForkZandKniveZ7 low level characters have a power boost up until like level 10, after then u start to get very weak, especially if u dont keep ur gear upto date at levels 10, 30, 50+, also orc alone would not help you much since the heal for damage only happens like once per 4 seconds and is only 1k health if you are playing nightblade/necro/warden/sorc etc at below 50 then dueling is still pretty survivable even against higher levels, my bashblade with 40k+ health and over 32k resist can literally stand still casting only dark cloak once every 4 seconds and im pretty much unkillable in duels, with a shield bash that can crit 20k damage sometimes chances are you duel'd some pve players, and your class skills are what make you survivable, considering most people depending on build are running similar health pools anyway- and it can very much depend on resistance, casual pve players usually dont care much on resistance or survivability

No quest forces u to swim for any long length of time. Still a useless passive

You say 99% of players don't do that stuff, but it's more like at least 30% of players do play that stuff. ESO is a long running MMO, most of the people who still play are the more serious players. It's more like race doesn't matter if you're just now starting to play the game and have some of the race change tokens to spare when you get to that point

Nord tanks have to gear differently than non nords. Using the same sets of course you'll notice a difference.

No. A good build should have around 4,000 weapon and spell damage and 30,000+ magicka or stamina, your race only gives you up to 258 weapon or spell damage and 2,000 of your primary resource. 258 out of 4,000 = 1/15th 2,000 out of 30,000+ = 1/15th or less In other words, if you hit an unbelievable 150,000 dps, your race would only account for 10,000 damage, it’s negligible.

Why do they HAVE to be unique? Their culture and lore make them unique, not some stupid min/max number. This game needs to remove certain racial passives. Final fantasy XIV has no racials and its amazing. Skill should always be the only thing determining if a player wins.@@blem5376

Which sucks ass. FAR better executed in FFXI. FFXIV has zero replay value at all and they removed the subclasses that FFXI had, which actually made characters unique. Nothing about FFXIV's class system works to anyone who actually cares about MMOs.

Fun fact, MMOS don't have to follow the same exact shitty formula as WoW and everquest. ESO and WoW hardly have replay value either when you reach end game. Especially ESO where all of the classes feel like copies.@@sarkaztik3228
