I agree that they’re overblown, but there is something to be said for sustained excellence. Brady more or less went to the Super Bowl every other year as a professional. When he left New England, he won another one in Tampa Bay. Nobody else comes close to that resume’. Winning seven means a lot.

He’s had the worst qbr he’s ever had. He got locked down by the Ravens and the Niners for the majority of the games. Only reason they won those games is because Defence and ST. It’s rare you win a SB doing what he did this year.

Its only hard to believe if you don't look at the facts and the facts are without nuance. With nuance considered, then Mahomes has a sizeable headstart up to the 6th season respectively. Manning, Montana, Staubach, Bradshaw, Unitas, et. al. -- which goes back to the longevity argument in my original post. Brady accumulated his stats over a 22 yr. period. While, there have been other players throughout the century+ long history of the NFL who've had at least 2 decade-long careers, they, by far, are the exception to the norm. It is extremely difficult for a given player to play an entire season without sustaining some kind of significant injury over the course of now 18 weeks of play (for 17 games and 1 bye). While, Mahomes did have that ankle sprain late last season which left a question mark as to if he'd even play in SB57, he did ultimately play. Part of career longevity is how well a given player remains relatively healthy throughout their career. Brady is extremely lucky to have had a career as long as the one that he had, but that's due, in large part, to his never really suffering a serious, season-ending injury (like a broken leg or arm, or a torn ACL/MCL, or a blown-out hip, etc.). My memory might be faulty, but I seem to recall him once sustaining a broken collar bone (or some kind of injury to that bone, if not a break) which took him out for a few/several weeks. I don't think that he ever had an injury-related absence that was longer than that. So, with that career longevity in mind, Mahomes will not only have to play at least what's left of his first decade, but he will have to avoid serious season-ending injuries along the way. As great as he is right now, there's no guarantee that he might not suffer, say, a slipped disk on a QB sack play, or a multiple rib fracture on one of his QB-run plays he's famous for -- or any other serious injury that could sideline him for up to, or more than, a full season. And, he might not be the same player when he comes back. Of course, the opposite can also be true: Montana coming back from slipping a disk in one of his vertebra and winning two consecutive Super Bowls after everyone said that his career was over
