Does Steakhouse 71 Have the BEST Breakfast in Disney World? Full Review | Contemporary Resort 2023

Steakhouse 71 is the newest restaurant available at Disney's Contemporary Resort. It's name pays homage to the year Walt Disney World opened, 1971, and its décor is reminiscent of vintage 1970s interior design. The menu also pays tribute to Walt Disney himself, featuring classic dishes that bare the name of the company's famous founder. Gracing the walls of Steakhouse 71, are pictures taken of Walt Disney and imagineers working on The Florida Project; the name given to the effort that later became Walt Disney World.
This restaurant took over the former home of The Wave, which was a favorite among Disney fans. The breakfast here has boosted critical acclaim among those same fans and many consider this restaurant to be a worthy successor of The Wave. On our endless journey to find, what we consider to be, Walt Disney World's best breakfast we had to stop by and see how this somewhat new offering compares to our recent adventure at Trattoria Al Forno. We found the pricing to be quite reasonable and we're excited to share our take on this new signature Walt Disney World tribute restaurant.

Steakhouse 71 is my favorite breakfast at Disney World. We like to rope drop MK then go over to Steakhouse 71 for a late (10:30- 10:45 am) breakfast.

Any pancake that rates a 9 or above definitely merits my attention! Weirdly, the best pancakes I've had in recent memory came from the Aventura Hotel at Universal. 😂 But I'm definitely down to give Steakhouse 71 a try! The steak and eggs looked delicious, too; my favorite breakfast dish, as someone who is generally a non-breakfast person. We've never done breakfast, lunch _or_ dinner at Steakhouse 71, but we did manage to squeeze in a dinner at the Wave just before it closed. If Steakhouse is in any way comparable to its predecessor, then it's definitely going on our list! Always loved how easy it is to walk from Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom, too. Great video, guys! ✨

Thank you 😃, the pancakes were definitely the highlight for us here. Although we have watched some reviews with differing takes. Aventura has been on our list of places to stay since construction on it was announced. If or when we get there we'll have to try the pancakes out. I think Steakhouse 71 is a worthy successor to The Wave and like how Disneyland has its own Steakhouse 55 and WDW has a 71. Just wish Steakhouse 55 was open on our DL trip. It really is so nice having that short and convenient walk to Magic Kingdom. We just stumbled into Festival of Fantasy and had the best view 😃.

my wife and I stayed at contemporary last oct and it was much better than we thought it would be ,and california grill is number one in my book as well

I'm currently trying to convince Sam into a Contemporary stay. Happy to hear it exceeded your expectations 😃. This is one of our favorite resorts for food and California Grill is my favorite restaurant of all time. Definitely want to stay here for the food and historic atmosphere.

Sam's steak was cooked well but my dish was a bit dry and definitely needed more steak. I will say the price was reasonable for what we got. Without a doubt the pancakes were the star but I'd agree that, unless your staying at the Contemporary, I don't think it's a restaurant to go out of your way for. I agree breakfast tastes better when you don't have to make it 😆.

We've been to Steakhouse 71 once for breakfast. Our meals and experience were mediocre. Those pancakes looked amazing!! We always give places 2 or 3 tries to make sure it wasn't an off day. We definitely want to go back for lunch or dinner too!! Loving yalls videos!!

We definitely can agree that a lot of Disney restaurants are inconsistent. We thought the price was great and we loved being so close to Magic Kingdom. We also later that day got some lunch to go to take home and it was unbelievably good (Prime Rib sandwich and Turkey blt) and we definitely want to try dinner. Thanks so much for the kind words :)

I miss The Wave. I really miss the Sweet potato Pancakes. 😭 100% with what Jay said! More eggs, more meat and for me, my steak was way peppery! 🤢 Flavor was good but sadly was way too salty. I remember loving the pancakes too! I had the Blueberry/Lemon pancakes. I do love the outside decor now before you enter the eatery. And I'm glad the Orange sherbet melted for that drink! Cause it sounded good! Also fun fact! It's 5 legged Llama because they couldn't use 5 Legged Goat 😂 Making me hungry like always ❤️😂

We never had The Wave Sweet Potato Pancakes! Wish we had the chance. Luckily Sam's steak were cooked well and flavorful. My hash was just dry and the Prime Ribe needed to be cooked less. An egg really would've brought the flavor up. The pancakes were definitely the star. Happy to hear you also had a positive experience with them. The drink was great too! We liked The Wave and we really enjoyed here too. Want to try dinner before stating a favorite but I do think it's poetic that an opening day resort received a restaurant that pays homage to the The Florida Project. Just wish we could've done Steakhouse 55 in Disneyland! The pancakes were the standout for sure 😃.

Hey How's my favorite Disney couple? That looked delicious but these Disney prices are so stupid 21 bucks for what I'm sure was a yummy filet But $18 for prime rib hash with not much prime rib - and one egg!?! Cmon ONE EGG!!! That's plain stupid - shame on Mickey Just back from a great time in London! Saw some amazing theatre and ate some fantastic food Have recommendations if you get over there Hope you guys are doing well So glad the dining plan is coming back Maybe I'll have to plan a trip Been a while!

Hello 😃 and thank you! We actually found the prices here quite reasonable, although we may have become desensitized to Disney restaurant pricing at this point 😆. The Hash definitely needed more egg, wasn't enough Prime Rib and the Prime Rib was over cooked. Not sure if that's how Walt liked it but I needed a little wetness. London is still on our bucket list! Hoping the channel keeps growing and we can make it happen one day. Even so, are plan is to hopefully be able to make it for an out of country trip within 2 or so years. If we're financially able to. When that happens we'll definitely be hitting you up for the good spots! Hope you're doing well too and that your trip was a blast. Seems like WDW has been dying down and been bringing out the specials again.

😆 the food and distance to the Magic Kingdom is nearly unmatched. This is a dream stay for us. Our personal favorite is The Polynesian. We stayed for our Anniversary and it was incredible. Hope you have the best trip 😃.
